Can i use uncompressed waves audio in DVDSP

I want to use uncompressed Wave audio along with my Mpeg2. When i do a built and burn to disc i don't want DVDSP to compress it to AC3 or whatever compressed format. Is there a way to tell it to keep exactly the original file you've use when authoring ??? How do i turn off all background encoding ?? Thanks.

Hi:
When i do a built and burn to disc i don't want DVDSP to compress it to AC3 or whatever compressed format.
DVDSP only encode audio to AIFF format. You'll never get AC3 using DVDSP for encoding your assets (you must use Compressor to get it).
Be aware that using uncompressed audio will take much more space of your disc and a hihger bit rate what in DVD-R builds can cause serious playback problems in stand alone DVD players.
Hope it helps.

can i use my usb audio interface with apple tv? For example Focusrite 2i2

Afraid not - AppleTV does not support USB audio devices.
I assume you don't mean using the device as an optical input for the computer, connecting AppleTV's optical out to it.

  • Can't use microphone to audio chat. Can hear others, no input opt for me.

    Quicksilver Dual 1GHz G4
    1.5GB RAM
    OS 10.4.10
    iChat AV 3.1.8
I am unable to audio chat. If others initiate an audio chat with me I can hear them fine. This is not a bandwidth, router, or ISP related issue.
I have professional microphones connected to computer via MOTU 828 mkII FireWire interface. Latest hardware drivers are installed, and the MOTU input/output audio interface is working fine. All sound output is via the MOTU and functioning normally. Microphone levels present in System Preferences / Sound and in Garage Band.
However, iChat AV prefs show no Sound Input options. I am unable to initiate an audio chat.
I have done normal troubleshooting steps such as reinstalling MOTU drivers, restarting all hardware, trashing com.apple.iChat.plist, etc.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions in helping troubleshooting this. Thanks.

The problem is 10.4.10 which broke the USB audio input. So far I think it affects all divices, in my case it is the internal microphone of my Logitech Pro 5000 camera.
This is the easy and secure workaround without downgrading the whole OS to 10.4.9. You only use the AppleUSB Audio.kext out of the 10.4.9 version. I just did it within 10 min. without any problems and the microphone now works fine! The OS version is still 10.4.10.
    1) Download "Pacifist"
    http://www.charlessoft.com/
    2) Download ComboInstaller 10.4.9. (300 MB)
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1049comboupdateintel.html
    3) Delete the "old" AppleUSBAudio.kext in Macintosh HD->System->Library->Extensions with admin key.
    4) Using Pacifist, open the ComboInstaller 10.4.9 (for Intel), extract (not install!) the whole .dmg and search for AppleUSBAudio.kext in the 10.4.9 installer (System->Library->Extensions)
    5) Press "Install"
    6) Restart

  • Can I use DSD (quality) audio in Premiere?

I have DSD (quality) audio available for a video project. But before the client sends over a very large DSD file, I would like to know if I can import this file into Premiere Pro CC and use it's full capacity. Otherwise which file format can I use to have the same audio quality?
On top of that we need to export it in a way that the audio is combined with the video where the audio plays back in DSD (5.1 surround) quality. Any information on this would be very helpful .

I'll check with the company if they can provide me with a PCM file and get back if this works or not.

  • Bluetooth dongle over usb extension/hub - can't use headset as audio input

I've been attempting to extend my bluetooth range by using a usb extension lead (with built in repeater) so that my bluetooth dongle is in the center of the house and thus maximize coverage, at first i had no problems at all -> i can send and recieve files using my phone and use my bluetooth headset (avro) as an audio output device and this all works fine and dandy BUT i cannot use my headset as an input device. There was another user who was having the same problem but they were using a usb hub.
There is a small fix to this -> don't use extension/hub but plug the dongle straight into a usb port on your mac, but this doesn't really help at all as it means i have to be in my room and can't use bluetooth over the rest of my house.
Is anyone else having similar problems and know of a way to fix it? I thought maybe the signal wasn't strong enough from the microphone, but even if i'm right next it doesn't work.. Maybe if i used a powered usb hub that would boast the usb?
Just to add, this is not a firmware problem or not pairing problem-> when dongle is connected directly to the mac it works fine, but when it is via the extension lead the sound bar doesn't change when i select my headset from in sounds output menu

I've plugged the extension cord into the usb 1 port on my keyboard (apple = genious) instead of the usb 2 port on the side of my emac and it works PERFECTLY....
Whilst this is odd, it works so i'm leaving this up incase anyone else has this problem

  • How can I use OnBoard+Aditional audio cards at the same time? !!! BIOS PROBLEM !!!

I want use both audio cards. The On-board audio + SoundBlaster Audigy. Because I have mp3 player mp3tunes ( from http://www.mp3tunes.nl ) that is able play on both audiocards at the same time. It is good for DJ. One audiocard is for pre-listen.
But in BIOS is possible set only disable or auto-detect.   When I set autodetect, then OnBoard audiocard is automaticaly disabled if there is another audiocard.  Please tell me, what can I do for enable both audiocards ?

It's been awhile but as I promised here is my update:
I purchased an E-MU 1820m Pro Audio interface several months ago and ran it in my system for some time with the onboard audio disabled. Since this audio system is mainly for mid/high end audio production making use of low latency and up to 192mhz sample rates & 20/18 i/o then it is a bit of an overkill for using it for general multimedia & games so I thought I would place my c-media pci card back in and enable the onboard setting & see if the two systems would run ok together.
I first made sure that I uninstalled the e-mu card & then put the onboard card back in & installed the drivers. I then installed the E-MU, making sure that it wasn't sharing an IRQ with my 9600 pro like it originaly did on the first slot. So after installing that and the IRQ's were looking good I tested it all out and the results after two weeks have been perfect. I use the C-Media audio with the WDM drivers and use it for general audio & multimedia while I use the E-MU card with the E-MU ASIO 2 drivers and I use this with my audio production programs like Sonar, FL Studio & native Instruments Battery & Traktor.
Conclusion: Yes you can run a pro audio system as well as the onboard sound card with the MSI 865 Neo2 FIS2R.

  • Can't use LINE IN audio with iSight Camera on iMovie 08

I want to record a video, using the internal iSight camera of my iMac, but I want to use the "line in" audio instead of the internal microphone of my iMac. I have tried for hours, and done the obvious things (selecting "line in" under System Preferences). I can record audio perfectly using Sound Studio or other programs, so it's not like the Mac isn't getting the audio. The problem is convincing iMovie to accept the audio of the Line In rather than the internal microphone of the iSight camera.
Thanks to all who would reply.

I've had the same problem, and it seems that this is simply not possible in iMovie... Disappointed!
Instead, having set 'line in' as input under System Preferences, fire up Quicktime Player and choose New Movie Recording under the File menu.
The movie will be recorded using system sound input, i.e. line in. It can then be opened / imported in iMovie for editing et c.
This works for me with the built in iSight on an intel Penryn Macbook Pro.

  • How can i using AVAssetWrite add audio writer?

hi : i am using IOS5 ,but my project in before version is fine to record audio and video.
i am uising AVAssetWrite to add audio asset . but using iOS  is crash . how can i add audio writer in ios5?

Seems to me that executeUpdate() would throw an SQLException, which in turn would get caught by your empty catch. The SQL keyword VALUES is misspelled. Put a 'se.printStackTrace()' in your catch to confirm this.

  • How can I use the iPad as a sound source for my Mac?

I would like to be able to record sound off my iPad, onto my Mac.  (I'm using a musical app that only allows me to save short recordings, so I would like to plug my iPad into my Mac and record the music into my Mac, into Audacity or something.)
I know you can't just connect the iPad from the headphone jack, so I'm wondering what equipment I would need.
I've heard that the iPad camera connector can be used to export audio out, does anyone know how that works?
Or, are there any iPad apps available that will make exportable sound recordings of any sounds your iPad is making (from any other app?)  You know, like a screen shot, but for sound instead?
(BTW, I am not interested in streaming music from my iPad.  I already know how to do that.  I'm trying to export audio from a musical instrument app I'm using.)

Unfortunately that link doesn't provide the info I'm looking for...
Answering part of my own question: it ISN'T possible to record audio on the iPad from one app to another. Technically not possible, so there are no apps that serve this purpose.
So, I'm still looking for details on how to connect my iPad to my Mac and use it as a sound source.  I would like to record directly onto my Mac whatever sounds my iPad is outputting, by connecting the iPad to the Mac's audio input in some way.

  • E71 use bluetooth while audio jack,s connected

is it possible to use bluetooth headset while audio jack,s connected?
i listen a lot of internet radio on my e71 through car stereo by casette adapter(headphones enhancement).it's very arduous to plug off audio jack from the phone every time you want to answer a call and talk by bluetooth!
even if bluetooth heaset is connected i can't use him till i plug off audio jack.
if i answer a call when jack is connected i can hear the voice throough car speakers and i have to use phone mic.
    is there any solution ?
    please help!

I'm also having this problem. So are over 50 people to date, and I'm sure we're just the only ones who are active. http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s3/576056-can-not-use-bluetooth-when-audio-jack-plugged.html
Can this be fixed? This is extremely dangerous. I use my phone as an mp3 player and connect it through the audio jack in my car, and also want to use my bluetooth headset to make and receive calls. Instead the call comes through my speakers and there is no microphone, leaving me scrambling to unplug my audio cable while driving.
People say that the original firmware didn't have this problem. Samsung says it's Verizon, Verizon says its Samsung, I dont care who is liable as long as someone fixes it!
    Thanks
