  • Is it better to export an iMovie project as QT and use Toast to burn a DVD for general use or to export to iDVD and burn VD from there?  Why?

Is it better to export an iMovie project as QT and use Toast to burn a DVD for general use -  or to export iMovie project to iDVD and burn DVD from there?  Why?

Toast probably maintains better quality if you are just doing simple conversion direct from your camera straight into Toast and then to DVD. There's a lot less transcoding steps and loss of quality in that direct to DVD disk creation in Toast. However, having said that,...There's good arguments probably for both.
What I've seen promoted most often (as most people don't have Toast or aren't motivated to buy it) is to Share to Media Browser (choose the Large size option) and then from inside iDVD click the Media Button and the Movies button to find the project under the iMovie star icon in the Media Browser window. Drag that project into your iDVD project and burn the disk.

  • Can I use 2011 OS X Install DVD for a 2006 OS X macbook pro with OS X 10.4

I've got a 2006 Macbook Pro with OS X version 10.4.11 which is exceedingly slow and has parental control software on it that's wreaking havoc (its defunct Kids Gogogo, by the way).  I'm wonder if I can use the install DVD from my new 2011 Macbook Pro to do a fresh install on the old Macbook Pro.
    Thanks!

    No.
The grey disks are hardware model specific with their own drivers.
Just buy the $29 10.6.3  Retail Disk from Apple and Software update.
10.6.8 is the best for that machine due to it's age, don't go with 10.7

Can iPad 2 use hardwired ISP instead of wi-fi?  Can I use USB wi-fi reception boosters on it?

You cannot use Ethernet modem. You need wireless ADSL router.
    You can use Wireless Extender.

  • How can I use USB interface in Labview?

    Hi.
Does labview allow to USB interface?
I have been seen allowing GPIB and RS232.
I'm beginer at Labview and wanna use USB interface for my target system and pc.
I wanna know how to labview interfaces from target system to pc.
And if Labview doesn't provide USB interface module, how can I use USB?
Is using a USB at Labview hard to beginer?
    Plz, answer to my quetion.
sorry, my English is very poor.
    thx for reading my article.

You can access devices connected to the USB port, but not in the same way as you would a GPIB or RS232 device. There are no USB drivers like there is VISA for GPIB or serial. Rather devices that plug into the USB appear to the systen as some sort of standard resource like a printer, disk drive or IO board. LabVIEW then interacts with these devices as it would any other device of the same type.Look at it this way, if you have a USB daq device you will access it through MAX the same as if it were a plugin card. Siri does Not work on the iPad 2.  iOS 7 is not even out yet, so we have no way of knowing if you'll be able to upgrade to it.

  • Can I use USB 3G data Modem on my iPad MINI as wifi is not Available everywhere?

Can I use USB 3G data Modem on my iPad MINI as wifi is not Available everywhere, I have just purchased one.

You can't connect a USB 3G dongle to an iPad, it won't be recognised. You can use an iPhone as a personal hotspot for the iPad (if you phone carrier supports it), or you can get mifi devices which act as mobile hotspots

  • If I can always use a passcode instead of Touch ID, how does Touch ID add security?

Am I missing something?  Even if I have Touch ID enabled, I can always use my passcode instead of Touch ID.  So, how does Touch ID *ADD* security?
I can understand always requiring passcode IN ADDITION to Touch ID at particularly sensitive moments (e.g. changing security), but by allwoing passcode to bypass Touch ID, it seems to me that Touch ID adds convenience but not security.
    What am I missing?

Does anyone know if Apple (or any of the iPhone vendors, such as Verizon, whom I have used) has claimed that Touch ID ADDS security? If so, can someone explain to me why this is not mis-represenation?  I don't mean to be inflammatory, but the dictionary definition of misrepresentation is "the action or offence of giving a false or misleading account of the nature of something" (from Google).
This is a user-to-user technical support forum. Answering questions about what companies have or have not said and the legality of those statements is way outside the purview of this forum. Additionally, speculating on Apple's policies is specifically a violation of the Terms of Use of this forum.
However, I think the first paragraph of this overview from Apple gives a good idea of way "convenience" is nothing to belittle. If it encourages people to use passwords who would not otherwise do so, those people's phones are certainly more secure.

Can I use my Yamaha survival kit DVD (New Yamaha 635 keyboard) on Lion? The window advises not because it's a Power PC program. Thanks!!

Thanks Niel. Can you tell me how to learn whether my DVD is Mac OS X server 10.5 or 10.6?
That info is not in Info. The disk was created Aug 2004, so it seems very unlikely.
I guess I have to ask Yamaha for an upgrade/replacement. It has not been easy to reach Yamaha support. Suggestions welcome -
