Can i use wait up to 10000 seconds?

can i use wait up to 10000 seconds?
wht is the impact of the program ? efficeincy? possibility? etc etc

Hi Shahid,
What you are trying to do is impractical. There is a maximum time that a transaction can run. This is set by BASIS team.Typically it will be between 10 min and 1 hr.After which program terminates
Moreover this will be have adverse affects..Better schedule a job in background that runs once in 3 hrs...
Please reward if useful
Thanks Arjun

  • Can I use a finalized project a second time by putting it into a new, different project?

Can I use a short, finalized video project a second time by inserting it into a new project?

You can do this, but you would have to import the finalized video into an Event first.
You can find the finalized video by going to your Project in the Finder in the Movies/iMovie Projects folder. Right click on the project and select Show Package Contents. Your finalized video will be in the Movies folder of the package. Right-click on the movie and select COPY.
Then right click on your desktop and Paste it to your desktop.
Finally, in iMovie, use FILE/IMPORT MOVIE.../ and navigate to the file on your desktop. After you import it, you can use it in iMOvie..

  • Buying a new iMac; can i use my eMac as a second display?

Hi, I'm just about to buy an iMac (intel core 2 duo), probably 17" 2 GHz with some extra RAM.
I currently have an eMac, and now I wonder, is there any way to use it (the eMac) as a second display for the iMac? Obviously, the eMac doesn't have any video input, but I'm thinking that maybe there is some third party solution that could send the second screen image through ethernet, firewire or usb? Or if there is any other way to solve this. Since I'm going to use the iMac for Logic Pro, I find it usable to keep the arrange window and mixer window on seperate screens, and I can't quite afford buying a new screen atm.
Though, if it doesn't work to do like this, maybe I'll buy an extra screen at some point in the future. Would I, in that case, need a special graphics card on the iMac? Or does it support two screens (with seperate content) as it is?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Thanks for this great reply! I marked it as helpful.
By the way I happened to write another reply myself
(not to you, to my own post) while you wrote yours,
just wanted to note that to avoid confusion. I'm not
very used to these forums, sorry...
Yes, the forums can take some getting used to.
I saw your second post, and that is why I wrote my second reply. I thought you were clarifying based on my reply See we all get confused sometimes
Anyway, I guess a delay would probably grow
incredibly irritating very quickly, so I guess it
wouldn't be an acceptable sustainable solution,
    really.
Yes, the delay would probably be quite a problem in real use. The only way I could see around it would be to move slowly and then stop and make sure that the pointer doesn't end-up beyond where you stopped.
If you waited say 3 or 4 seconds and then clicked, you would know that the pointer is where it is.
But, that would slow-down your productivity.
I think a second monitor would be best.
So maybe buying a new screen is the best/only
"solution"... In that case, I think an LCD screen is
probably best as CRT's sometimes interfer with sound
equipment... So not having to turn one screen off
everytime I want to use a microphone would be
    convenient.
Yes, an LCD screen would probably be much more convenient. I much prefer LCD screens myself.
So, I'll simply be on the outlook for used LCD
    screens, then... Thanks!
You're welcome. Glad I could help.
Let me know if you have other questions.

  • Can I use mac mini as a second hard drive

  • Can you use Apple TV for a second monitor to a TV (Not mirroring)

I'm thinking about buying an Apple TV so I can have a wireless second display for my MacBook Pro. Am I able to do this or can I only mirror the one display? Am also what is the minimum Internet speed needed for AirPlay

OK - I now have the bits and have set up the system...
Airparrot is great. It allows you to select which display to mirror on the Apple TV. It also allows you to send audio to the Apple TV.  I have EyeTV and Front Row set up to use the second dispaly and Airparrot successfully sends this to the Apple TV. However my audio synce problems  remain. Whenever I use digital (toslink) sound from the iMac the audio is out by several frames. Unfortunately this even happns if I send both the video and audio to the Apple TV. It is unwatchable. This means I will need to switch to the RCA audio output on the iMac (which is AUX in on the hifi) whenever I want to send video to the AppleTV.
If I play video from the Apple TV (using home sharing) then the audio sync is much better. But this means that Eye TV wont be accessible from the Apple TV menu (now there is an opportunity for a clever programmer).
I have used QT Sync to adjust the sync when sending video to the Apple TV via quicktime. In speech the lips sync at a difference of 8 frames. However QT Sync is no good for playing video from Front Row or EyeTV. There is another programming opportunity...(adjusting sync for all types of output - it would be a good addition to Airparrot).
So in short, I cannot use Apple TV to play TV from the iMac. And the Apple TV menu is much more limited, in many ways, than Front Row.
(the iMac is still running Snow Leopard - which may be partly causing the problems - but there are several reasons why I dont want to upgrade it to Mountain Lion)

  • Can I use Elements 7 on my second PC?

I recently purchased a Sony Vaio FW490 Notebook PC and which I purchased with Adobe Elements 7 and Adobe Premier Pro CS4. These applications were pre-installed, and came without any dvds. I registered the software shortly after receiving the Notebook PC. I also have a desktop PC, and was wondering if it was possible to install these applications on this computer. I read that Adobe does permit their software to run on two separate PC's so long as they are not being used at the same time.
However, I don't have any information on serial numbers of the apps on my Vaio. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the information. I called Sony a couple of days ago, and was told that I should have received the serial numbers with the PC, and that they were probably packed with other inserts. I checked, and there was nothing. The only product key I received was the Windows Vista sticker affixed to the bottom of the PC. I called back and they then told me to call SonyStyle Canada which I did. They were supposed to get back to me yesterday, but didn't. So I called again and they assured me they would get back to me. I was told that they don't have the serial numbers/product keys, and that if I didn't receive them, then they may initiate an investigation.
Meanwhile, when checking my registrations on the Adobe Webiste, I found that when I registered Elements 7, the serial number was picked up! This was great news for me, because I thought  that I could then download and install a second copy of Elements 7 on my desktop PC. Unfortuantely, I found that there is only Elements 8 available for download, and that I would have to pay an addititional 99.00 to buy it. I was also told that there was currently no upgrade pricing for this product. I would have thougfht that I could access the site to download the version that I purchased about 2 months ago, but unfortuately this doesn't seem to be the case.
Strangely, although I registered a second Adobe program I had purchased  from Sony (Adobe Premiere Pro CS4), it doesn't show up in my registered products. When  I try to register again the option is greyed out. So it looks like I will have to wait to hear from Sony on this.
    Thanks again.

  • Is there any other alternative instead of using of WAIT UP TO X SECONDS?

    Hello
I am developing a inteface function module that gets iits input data from another system (HR system), in that I am using WAIT UP TO 5 SECONDS statement, but my lead is not OK for using it, pls. let me know can I achieve the same by using any other way? Bcz my lead said, it depends on the environement DEV / ACC / PRD, hence lead is not OK for that
    Pls. let me know alternatives
    Thank you

Please note the language of this site is professional English. Therefore please spell words out in full - because not bcz. Not everyone here's first language is English and abbreviations like this, besides being unprofessional, make your question harder to understand for them.
    On to your question.
Why not ask your lead for an explanation and a solution? I.e. ask your lead for some leadership - it's his/her job!
Why are you needing to wait? What are you waiting for?
What I do is something like.
DO 20 TIMES. "or thirty or some configurable number of times
check for a condition being met - perhaps a lock being released.
      if condition is met.
         set a flag
         exit loop.
      endif.
      wait 1 second
    enddo.
    if flag not set
issue error condition - resource not available or suchlike.
    endif.
In this way, it doesn't matter what your environment is; as soon as the resource is available you're away. I agree with your lead that an arbitary wait is a bad thing. Even if you adjust the length for dev/q/prod, it can lead to difficulties - e.g. if your program ends up being called in a loop, that 5 seconds over a thousand iterations is a long delay.

  • Can I use Video Mornitoring in FCPX 10.1 on iMac?

New Feature of FCPX 10.1.... great but????
Can I use this feature in iMac????   via thunderbolt to HDMI Adapter? or other I/O

There is a difference between "Video Monitoring" and putting your viewer in a second display.
It depends on your needs. If you are editing for the web you do not need that kind of "broadcast" video monitoring.
You can certainly use an iMac with a second display attached via a thunderbolt to hdmi adapter. With that setup you can put the viewer or the browser on the second display.
For true broadcast monitor on an iMac you'd need to add a specific device (like those from BlackMagic or Matrox).
But, again, do you NEED that? If you are in doubt, you don't.

Put it into DFU mode - hold the sleep/wake button and home button until the screen goes black (ignoring the slide to turn off slider). When the screen goes black release the sleep/wake button but hold the home button. Continue holding the home button for 10 seconds, then release it. The screen should stay black. Plug it into iTunes and it should come up with this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. It must be restored before use", that's when it is successfully in DFU mode. Now press the restore button in iTunes and it should run smoothly :)

  • I'm in the trial period for Creative Cloud - I have about 19 days to go on Photoshop CC on my iMac.  Can I use the same CC trial on a second machine?  Specifically on a Windows 7 machine?

I'm in the trial period for Creative Cloud - I have about 19 days to go on Photoshop CC on my iMac.  Can I use the same CC trial on a second machine?  Specifically on a Windows 7 machine?

Nothing personal to you or Rajshee, but this is exactly why I absolutely despise these "community forums" (not just Adobe but any company).  I called the Tech Support phone line today after digging and digging for a phone number, and they told me the exact opposite, and they did it a lot faster than it was possible to get a forum response.  (That's really not personal, because you can't control that, but it's a fact.)
Their answer: As long as I'm signed in with the same ID, I can try, say, Photoshop CC on my iMac at home and also try Acrobat Pro CC on my Windows 7 machine at work.  Same account, same login, one trial.
This makes complete sense to me as I'm financially on the hook (potentially) for the same package.  If I give away my login to someone else, which I wouldn't do, I'm still on the hook.  This is why the cloud approach to software is such genius and I applaud it.
BTW, 99% of the "community forum" wrong answers come on Microsoft sites, so don't feel bad.

  • How can i use my smart TV as a second monitor for my Power mac (2010) via HDMI cable? i've made the connection but no options show in system prefs display.

How can i use my smart TV as a second monitor for my Power mac (2010) via HDMI cable? i've made the connection but no options show in system prefs display.
    the computer:Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.9.5), 2 x 2.66 Ghz 6-Core intel Xeon
    the TV: LG Smart tv

The Mac uses a highly-parameterized universal Driver for every display. The parameters are set at certain times when a query is sent to your display. The display MUST answer with its name and capabilities, or the screen stays dark. A TV set that is off or "not paying attention" because it is set to a different port when the query occurs will rarely answer, and so will often remain dark.
You can use tools in the System Report to see whether your display has been detected at all. If it has, the report will look something like this, but its name will appear:
The times when the query is sent are:
    • at Startup
    • at wake from sleep
    • when the Mac-end of the cable is inserted
    • when using the Option ( Detect Displays ) button in displays preferences

can i use a 2nd iphone if i install itunes on another user account.when i tried to create a second library i messed up both phones, the second one now has all my contacts and when it sends txts it either says its my other phone or email address. i can cope with the first phone and getting it back on itunes but dont want to syn the 2nd phone until i know it is independant of the other one. Does it matter that both phones use the same itunes store account?

Deleting the account on your phone only removes if from your phone.  The account and it's data remain intact and doing so will not effect your daughter's phone.
To do this, first go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn any synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off, and when prompted, choose to keep the data on the phone.  When finished, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up a new iCloud account with a different Apple ID and turn any data you want to sync with iCloud (contact, calendars, etc.) back to On.  This will upload your data to your new iCloud account.

  • How can i use a second router to replace verizon fios router?

Okay so just as the title says how do i use a second router? I got a cisco valet router... I don't know how to use it because the verizon router/modem is wierd i know how to use a router if i only had a modem but fios gives router/modem so how can i use my 2nd router? The current verizon fios router/modem is b/g mode and i wanna change to b/g/n so i can get a better speed from my internet... SO how can i use my 2nd router? I tried this http://www.dslreports.com/faq/verizonfios/3.0_Networking#12506 but i don't get it can someone guide me better or make a video explaination on how to use a 2nd router? I have it connected with see as in pic i connect from my router Internet port to wan port and the ethernet lan port to the ethernet lan port on verizon fios and no work please help...

OK, so with this, we have a few options. You appear to have a MoCa connection to the ONT, hence the coaxial cable being present.
1: The ActionTec can be bridged to the Valet router. This will not require any additional cabling, however it will require a small amount of work to have working. You will also require the ActionTec still in the mix, even though it will not be acting as a router anymore with this configuration.
Visit http://www.dslreports.com/faq/16077 and look at Option 4. There is a thread linked that will allow you to set up the ActionTec as just a MoCa bridge, and will pass the Public IP to your router. You will, in order for this to work once the ActionTec is bridged, need to connect the cable from your Valet router's Internet port, to the ActionTec's LAN port and nothing else goes to the ActionTec. From this point, your Valet should run as your primary and everything should connect through your Valet. If you are adding another router, a Netgear N300, you should perform the LAN to LAN setup, which we will talk about once you've got the Valet working correctly. LAN to LAN configs require a custom setup, so do not set up the Netgear for now.
2: This is my preferred method, which would be to run an Ethernet cable to the ONT. Option 6 in the FAQ. This will require spaking to Verizon to have them move your ONT to Ethernet, but once they do this, you can disconnect the Coaxial Cable from your ActionTec router, and plug in your CAT5/CAT6 cable from the ONT to the ActionTec's Internet/WAN port. Use the ActionTec to ensure everything is working after the switchover, and once off the phone, log into the ActionTec, perform a DHCP Release, and then prompty power off the ActionTec. Once this is done, plug the CAT6 cable into your Valet router's Internet port. You should from this point, be able to connect to the Cisco, and if the DHCP Lease was broken successfully, the Cisco should begin serving up your Internet connection. If it does not, leave the Cisco powered off for a few hours to break the DHCP lease, and then power it up. If the Valet does not work, still, give the Valet a factory reset and set up this router again, with the Ethernet cable from the ONT connected to it.
I would just take a good luck at the FAQ linked above again, and see what would work the best. Easiest thing to do is to get the ONT moved to Ethernet, which allows you to eliminate the ActionTec unless you need it in the future for TV service, and also allows you to use any router with ease.
Once the Valet is up and running and holds your Public IP address from Verizon (use http://whatismyip.com/ to determine this) , and also serves up IPs to devices on your network, post back and we can help you set up the Netgear. If you have any issues while setting this up, fall back to the ActionTec. It's factory reset will work without configuration needed, regardless of you being on Coax or Ethernet.
