Can I wash my iPad smart case ?

Is it alright to wash my iPad smart case?

It would probably be much better to simply wipe it off, perhaps with a damp sponge (not really wet) and definitely not with the iPad attached    You would be surprised how many times things like that are done.
The cases and covers usually do not do very well when really soaked in washing.

  • What is the weight of the iPad Smart Case?

What is the weight of the iPad Smart Case?  I am looking for the lightest possible case in order to take advantage of the lightness of the iPad Air. Thanks.  Bob

The MBP seems much lighter than my 12" Powerbook, though I know it isn't. I can carry it in one hand with no difficulty.
The Apple site lists the 15" Macbook Pro as being 5.6lb and the 13.3" Macbook as 5.2 pounds (2.36 kg).
Carrying either one-handed is not going to be a problem.

  • How many magnets should the cover on the iPad Smart Case have?

My cover of my iPad Smart Case does not work so well as a stand in landscape mode. I discovered that mine has only 2, 1 in the center and 1 in a corner. Anyone else have this cover and confirm how many magnets theirs has? Wondering if it's a defect or a "feature".

Well, for starters, the cover had quite a few more:  http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPad+2+Smart+Cover+Teardown/5089
I'd like to believe that the case should be similar in the magnet complement, but can't say for sure. I have mine encased in a Lifeproof watertight shell.  BTW, the appearance/functional differences between the case and the cover:  http://www.imore.com/ipad-air-smart-case-vs-smart-cover-which-should-you-get

  • HT204158 does the ipad smart case have a warranty

Does the iPad smart case have a warranty?

    Heidi,
I purchased a smart case as a gift for a relative, at a local Apple store. In a few months it developed the same problem as your case.  I took it back to the Apple store and was told there was a 1year warranty which  covered manufacturing defects, as long as the product was not abused.  I told them that the glue problem was a Factory defect and I wanted a  replacement, which was granted to me.  Talking to someone face to face does give you more leverage than talking to phone personnel who might be a few thousand miles away.  So, if you have an Apple store in your area, you may get better results there.

  • Magnetic function isn't working for iPad Smart Case

I've recently purchased a red colour iPad Smart Case for my iPad with Retina Display (4th Gen) from the Apple Store. However, I have enquiries and troubleshooting about the case:
How do I activate the magnetic function on my iPad? Even the smart case is attached on the iPad, the tablet does not seem to recognize the case.
Does the iPad smart case suppose to have magnets around the perimeter of the case? As the lid does not adhere when I close it.
    Much appreciated for the help.

I have the paid AOL accounts, and they were supposed to get back to me today and have not, thus far. It has to be an issue with AOL's email server.  The tech that I spoke to over the weekend said that he thought that it may be an issue with their server.  Almost 3 weeks ago, AOL's email server was hacked.  They said that 2% of their accounts were affected, and one of my AOL accounts was in that 2%.  They didn't admit for over a week that it was their server that had been hacked, and instead made everyone affected think that it had been their own computers that had been hacked.  I have to believe that this is an AOL issue again.  Everything was working fine with my iPhone and my iPad, and suddenly my email was nolonger being pushed on Thurs night/early Friday.  If I get an answer from AOL, I will certainly post it here.

  • Hi.does ipad smart case have any effect on its screen.because of strong magnets?

hi.does ipad smart case have any effect on its screen.because of strong magnets?

What kind of TV? The older cathod ray tubes would be affected by nearby magnets. Usually the picture would be distorted. But LED screens use a completely different technology for producing the image and are not affected by magnets.
I've had a Samrt Cover on my iPad 2 since it was new and now have a new iPad Air with a Smart Cover. No screen problems of any kind.

  • Dismantled iPad smart case

What would be an appropriate glue to put iPad smart case together?  It's quite amazing to see how evenly dismantled the smart case has been after 1 year warranty period.

Is that a uk number? Is there any way of contacting them online, via email etc? Thanks for the reply

  • Ipad smart case defects

I bought 2 ipad smart cases for my ipad and both cases are not usable since the base attaching the frame and the back have separated. The adhesive has gven way. This is quite disappointing considering the ipads do not leave our house often--so note exposed to the elements. Pls address this so that future smart cases don not easly break like these ones.

This isn't the place to complain about the quality of a product, take it to an Apple store.

  • IPad Smart Case Warranty

Hi people. So today, I just noticed a little torn on my iPad Smart Case, and I think it is after i've accidentally dropped it. But It's not a long drop and theres no any sharp object that makes the case torn. My question is, does my warranty will covers my iPad case?

According to what I've read, a one year limited warranty. Accidental damage is likely not covered.

  • IPad smart case doesn't shut down iPad

After cleaning my iPad smart case (with iPad removed) it no longer shuts down iPad when closed.  Has anyone else had this problem?

If u have nvidia videocard and have installed nvidia update, then u have the update service keeping the mainboard alive. Either uninstall nvidia update or disable the updater service. After all, nvidia don't release a driver every 5 minutes so u might just check in manually every month or so.

  • IPad Smart Case has no support?

I received my iPad Smar Case today and have been using it for a few hours.
It has absolutely no support - when I roll back the top cover and put it at the higher angle ( / like this), I can barely touch the screen witout the whole thing falling back.
I can't press the home button either because it falls over even before I actually press it.
I asked around a bit and aparently the Smart Cover does not have this problem.
    Did I get a faulty/damaged product?

I think I totally misworded the original post.
I am using the cover part rolled back in a triangle, not straight. And no, you could not have been using the same cover for a year because it only came out a few days ago, because I am talking about the smart case, not the cover.
By / this what I meant was, you know how there are two angles you can put the smart case/cover at when it's rolled back in a triangle. A lower angle at about 15degrees and a higher angle at about 75 degrees? When I roll back the top cover part of my smart case and put it at the higher angle so the iPad looks like / this from the side, the smart case gives absolutely no support - I can't press the home button as I have mentioned, ket alone freely touch the screeb for other uses.
I was wondering if the smart covers were like this at the steeper angles too, and if not, if anyone thinks that my oroduct is damaged.
    Thanks!

  • Where can I find an iPad mini case with a strap?

I am looking for a moderate-to-extremely durable case for iPad mini that can have a shoulder strap attachment. I am looking to use it as a communication device for  student with severe special needs, who would need to have access to it at all times. Some sort of protection for back and screen a must, but I will look at all options.

    Louis,
There are not many cases available at this time with a strap for iPad mini.  I am an Augmentative Communication Consultant and am very familiar with your quest.  Right now, your best option may be a Griffin Survivor, GumDrop Drop Tech or Otterbox Defender within a ChatBag.  I have a very large Pinterest site dedicated to AAC and Assisitive Technology and Special Education with a large focus on iOS apps and accessories as well as AAC supports.  You can find it here.  www.pinterest.com/lasenders  The options I just mentioned are on my board of iPad mini cases. The only other case with a strap thus far is the Sherpa Carry for iPad mini, but that is not super rugged.
    Hope that helps.
