Can I watch fios tv on my computer?

Im sorry if this has already been covered, but I have looked and did not find an answer.
Is there any way to watch fios tv on my computer and if so, how would I accomplish this?
I have tv/internet and phone.
thanks so much if you can help!

when you say tv card, do you mean tuner card?  I have an older computer that does not have a tuner.
I was hoping that with the router already connected to my computer, I would be able to watch without adding anymore
stb's or other added components.
At least I can  go to the network websites and things like hulu and watch on demand (for now anyway)

  • How to watch FiOS TV on a computer?

I will be getting FiOS Internet and TV installed next week.  I would like to watch TV on the computer.  I have an old analog TV tuner card in the PC.  Do I have to get a set-top box for the computer, or is there a way to access FiOS TV over the Internet?
My computer is running Windows XP Media Center Edition.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes you will require an STB.  There are no analog signals on the FIOS TV feed, they are all digital (QAM-256).  Even with a QAM capable tuner you will only get the local SD and HD channels (as these are the only ones in "clear QAM") unless you have a newer PC with a cablecard capable tuner.
The cheapest option is the DCT-700 (also called Digital Adapter) for $3.99 / month.  Has no guide, VOD, or widgets and receives only the SD channels you are subscribed to (no HD cpability).  It has both composite video with L/R audio and RF outputs, but the RF output is mono audio only.

  • IMac PC does not support latest Adobe FP/can't watch Youtube/Only solution=new computer??

I can no longer watch You Tube because the latest version of Adobe Flash Player
will not download to a PPC. I run Tiger 10.4.11 (I know that's ancient but it works
very well!) Does this mean the only way to view You Tube would be to buy a new
computer? Everything runs perfectly except You Tube. I've never been a big fan of the site
I still would like to have access to it but buying a new computer to get one site seems
like a bridge too far. I have Adobe flash Player and but not the latest version.
This problem only happened recently which seems strange. I even have a
couple of videos on the site and have access to my account. I can get the site and my account but
first the sound stopped playing a month or two ago but the videos still played. Now the videos
don't play at all. From what I've heard, only a computer with Intel can accept the latest version of
    Adobe. Any thoughts or tips??

It will work on a PPC Mac running Leopard, but not Tiger:
I am in the same boat. I run a G5 PPC iMac and I cannot watch flash videos on the BBC website or on BBC iPlayer, and it struggles on YouTube.
For reasons that passeth all understanding, they all work with the PPC version of Firefox, called TenFourFoxG5.app, once you have enabled plug-ins, as it does not natively support Flash.
You can download TenFourFoxG5 from here:
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Now for the interesting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:
    http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/wiki/PluginsNoLongerSupported
    But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
    Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
I am using Flash 11.5.502.55 in TenFourFox and it works just fine. Here is how to get a working version of Flash Player:
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, try the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the version 11.5.502.55:)
Download this http://scriptogr.am/nordkril/post/adobe-flash-11.5-for-powerpc to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • I can't watch video's on my itunes

I bought a new computer over the summer, and I transferred all of my songs, and two tv shows that I had on my old on computer. I didn’t have the shows backed up on a disc so I just plugged my iPod in my new computer and it transferred to my new computer. I assumed that everything worked ok, because after a few months I bought an album that came with a music video, and I could watch that, and I was able to watch previews of other videos as well. But I can’t watch any videos on my computer now.

OK. Lets guess. From where? Are you trying to sync videos from iTunes on your computer? Download them from iTunes on the iPad?

Can i delete a movie from my computer that i've previously purchased in itunes and then download again when I want to watch it?  Seems like this would help me manage storage space.

Yes, provided the movie is still in the iTunes Store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

  • TA26404 Can I burn an iDVD on a usb and watch it on a regular computer?

I needed to make a movie for school and it came out perfect. Can I burn it onto a USB and watch it on a regular computer?

No, you can burn it to a flash drive.  Burn it to a DVD disk and any computer that can play DVD videos will be able to play your DVD.
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality final product:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
What do you mean by a "regular" computer?  What are you using to create the iDVD project, an irregulary computer?

If you no longer have, or access to, the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,
Log in to iTunes,  go to "view your account info" on the itunes store,  deauthorise all five, (Please Note: this can only be done Once every 12 months)  and then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time.

  • HT204088 I ordered a movie (The Help) on my iPad.  When I went to watch it, I got a note that it would not download.  And yet, it showed it had downloaded.  How can I watch it on my computer?

I ordered a movie (The Help) on my iPad 2 and it showed it was downloaded.  When I went to watch it, I got the message that it would not load.  Can I watch on my Mac computer?  I can't find it in iTunes.

    Hi adtsalmon,
You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
Here's the link to the Movie Rentals FAQs site FYI:

    Hope this helps!

  • Can't watch Verizon FiOS TV on iPad or Xbox 360

    Hi,
I have been on hold with Verizon support for over an hour now with no success. I am currently subscribed to both FiOS TV and Internet service but am unable to wach live TV on any external app after logging in with my account. The iPad app says "You are not subscribed to this channel. Error code: 102" on every channel, even those which I can currently watch on my set top box. I have the same problem trying to watch live TV on my xbox 360 with a gold subscription.
It seems like no one on the customer service line even knows what I'm talking about. I was asked if I downloaded the iPad app from the verizon website. Good one.

    Hello,
A few things for the iPad app:
    1) Have you checked to make sure that on your iPad you are accessing your Verizon FiOS residential account's wifi network?
If you are using a cellular network (data plan) for wifi, and not the wifi for the Verizon FiOS account for your internet at home then you can't access Live TV for the 'FiOS Mobile' app.
    2) Are you signing in with a subaccount and not the primary ID when using the FiOS Mobile app for the iPad?
    3) Try logging into verizon.com with your userid and password and then going to My Services - TV plan -- does it show your current FiOS TV plan?
    4) Have you tried deleting the app and re-installing the 'FiOS Mobile' app for the iPad from the Appstore and see if you get the same message?
