Can ibooks 2.01 run under iOS 5.1?, or am I forced to use ibooks 2.1??

I learned the hard way about ibooks bugs and ios with the last update. Since I can't downgrade, I wont upgrade till I know I can still use ibooks 2.01 under iOS 5.1. Thanks.

A model MC086LL is a 2G iPod and its hardware does not support higher than 4.2.1. It only has 128 MB of memory . The 3G and 4G have 256 MB and the 5G 512 MB.

It sounds like you may be experiencing issues on your non iOS 8 devices because iOS 8 is required to set up or join a Family Sharing group.
The following information is located in the print at the bottom of the article.
Apple - iCloud - Family Sharing
Family Sharing requires a personal Apple ID signed in to iCloud and iTunes. Music, movies, TV shows, and books can be downloaded on up to 10 devices per account, five of which can be computers. iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite are required to set up or join a Family Sharing group and are recommended for full functionality. Not all content is eligible for Family Sharing.

Some current apps won't run under IOS 4?

We wanted to reach out and warn you that the RunKeeper Free and RunKeeper Pro apps that you currently have on your phones are not iOS 4 compatible. New versions that are iOS 4 compatible are in the queue awaiting Apple's approval. We don't know if they will get approved before tomorrow (we hope they do), but if not, it should be any day now. In the meantime, if you wish to continue using RunKeeper while you are waiting, hold off on downloading iOS 4 until our next app version gets approved.

I suspect there are three categories:
1. Apps which will not run under OS4
2. Apps which will run under OS4 but not support multitasking
3. Apps which will run under OS4 and support multitasking
I understand Navigon has a new version in the wings in Cat 3.
Hopefully the iTunes app store will identify those which will not work in OS4. But I suspect we may learn about some the hard way, starting tomorrow.

It seems I have solved my own problem . . . well hopefully !! ;-)
I was using a 'non' Apple cable. When I swithced to using the stock cable that came with my iPhone, iTunes can now see that I have a 'Device' and identifies it correctly as my iPhone.
Hopefully this may help others . . . ?

I am testing AQ on an 11.2.0.1.0 database and I am missing something...
Here is my test case:_
1) I have a queue created in COM_OWNER account. I created a callback procedure with dbms_aq.register. This procedure just create a row into log table.
2) The user FBOUCHER issue a dbms_aq.enqueue.
3) I query the log table. The row was created by SYS ??.
Can my callback procedure run under the authority of FBOUCHER instead of SYS ?
I specified "authid current_user" for my callback package and used USER to insert into log table.

No. LabVIEW is available for Windows, Mac, Sun, and Linux. Every binary is unique to the OS. You can try to convince NI to create a LabVIEW version for VX Works but I don't think you'll get very far. Sorry.

Should I avoid used iBook G3's?

I can get a pretty good deal on a used (most recent version) iBook G3 (12.1", 900 MHz G3, 640 MB RAM, 40 GB HD, AP etc.). I'm all set to get it as the price is great, but I'm kind of worried about the whole logic board thing?
It's obviously way out of warranty and the extended replacement plan is over, so is it too risky to buy one? If it hasn't had problems yet, is it likley that it might eventually? Or is it pretty safe if it hasn't failed yet? It's probably only because people post bad experiences here, but it seems that most iBook owners have had a logic board failure at some time.
I've had a bad experience with a G3 Lombard PB (messed up logic board) a few years ago and don't want a repeat experience.

If the iBook you're looking at does have the logic board failure, there's a department in Apple (Rhonda Wilson knows it), where if you talk to them and ask them to make an exception there's a good chance they will if it's an actual logic board failure.
This iBook I'm using now (900MHz, 384mb, Combo, 40gb) had it's logic board replaced and it was out of warranty also, but they still took it and it's been running great ever since.
Don't worry about buying used iBooks, I've owned three and they've all been (except for this one) perfectly fine.

I currently have a 1st generation iPad that is running on iOS 5.1.1. I have been unable to update the operating system. In fact, when I look for updates under the general settings icon nothing comes up. Shouldn't this older iPad be running on iOS 7.0.2 like my new iPad? Also, I have 19 app updates that I can't even access. I'm assuming this is because iOS 5.1.1 is too antiquated, thus not meeting the requirements for the other apps to update. The 2G iPod can only go as high as iOS 4.2.1. If you want apps that require an iOS higher than 4.2.1 you need a newer model iPod.

Is there a way to get a version of the Garage Band app that runs on version 5.1.1? I have an iPad 1 and can't get any higher iOS. The App store is telling me that Garage Band only runs on iOS 7.

IE running under XP can't handle multiple SWF files, Why?

I noticed that IE 8 running under Windows XP cannot handle multiple swf files in one page.
Up to about 10 files is no problem they are loaded and we can play them ( buttons that start a small audio file).
But more of these files in one page will stop IE.
Firefox ( 3.6.28) runs them fine.
And also IE 8 and/or Firefox under Windows 7 handles them perfectly.
Has anyone any idea what can cause this and how to resolve this?

Sorry...I still don't get it. What is it about Windows FUS that keeps iTunes from running running the process twice? It can run many other non-Apple windows apps in multiple user sessions (commercial apps, open source apps, audio/video apps, networked apps). I can even run two different virtual machines at the same time under two different user sessions.
Why can iTunesHelper.exe run twice but iTunes.exe cannot? Why can I run Safari at the same time? Quicktime Player runs fine under multiple user sessions.
Blaming it on Windows and/or FUS sounds like FUD. Can anyone give a valid technical reason? Semaphores? Mutexes? An admission (and explanation) that the Windows version is purposely crippled?

If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

This is a bad hardware error, Baseband Error. Some have reported getting through this error by Restoring iPhone with the SIM Card removed. Try that. Try restoring with different computer. Search Web some more for other thoughts.

If you have iPhone 3G, the latest and greatest is IOS 4.2.1.
If you have iPhone 3GS or later, you can only update to IOS 6.0.1.
For iPhone 5 and iPad mini, you can update to IOS 6.0.2.

Download the current version of itunes, attach your device to your computer, open itunes, go to the device (upper right hand corner) and select update. It'll update to iOS 6.0.2, the current version of iOS.
