You can't merge accounts or copy content to a different account, so anything that you bought or downloaded via the old account is tied to that account - so any updates that those apps get you will only be able to download via that account. You can change which account is logged in on the iPad via Settings > Store

Seriously, Home Sharing sounds like a fine solution to the need you express.
However, your question suggests that your library is not backed up, right? You and your husband should each make a backup of your libraries.

How to keep E6 and N8 in sync with each other?

I've had an N8 for the last 6 months or so (coming from an E71!.) I love the N8 hardware but, though I can manage, I do not love "touch." I've been longing for the ability to slice through the Symbian layers that a hardware keyboard gives so I've ordered an E6.
I plan on using the E6 as my daily workhorse with the N8 interspersed. Does anyone have suggestions for the best way to keep them in sync with each other?

Which data/files are you trying to sync between the 2 phones? For the emails, this will still depend on the protocol that your provider is using. For POP mails, emails can only be accessed on 1 device while IMAP supports multiple device as it leaves a copy on the server.

Can the new devices play nice with each other?

I am considering getting and Apple TV and the new wireless base station. My question is this: Can I use the wireless base station and connect a 250gb LaCie HD to it for media storage and back up and then have Apple TV connect to that hard drive to get the content to the TV? Does anyone see any issues? Has anyone done this before? Additionally, can I add in an airport extreme unit to hook up an additional set of speakers and a printer via the USB port?

You can...sort of..
That USB port on the ATV for now is kinda useless...
BUT...
You CANNOT connect your HD directly to your ATV, but (and this is what I do) you can stream from your main computer WITH your external HD connected to it.
What i've done is clear one of my externals and made it a dedicated extension of my ATV. ITunes will let you serve from any storage device as long as it is connected to the computer that ITunes is loaded on.
In doing this you save that precious 40gig on the ATV for smaller thing like maybe your photos or music and podcasts.

Can't Sync Outlook 2010 Calendar with BB Bold

I am trying to do a one way sync from the computer to the phone using USB and the Desktop Manager software. I have followed the help guides but when I am finsished, one of two things occur. Either the calendar on my phone is still empty or I get the following message:
"A program error occured at line 1041 in c:\hudson\jobs\rim7.1\workspace\rsutils\rectrans\rstol\rstoloom\OIAccess.h Please report this error by sending a log to technical support."
I can't even find a way to use my phone or the software to send the log. Do I need to re-install something in my phone? Help.

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.

Sending logs to BlackBerry is a matter of obtaining formal support and escalation up to BlackBerry. That starts with your mobile service provider, who can escalate you up to BlackBerry, who could then provide you a method to send them the logs.

I have numbers on my iMac and my iPad. how can i get them to sync with each other?

Help... How can I get my numbers spreadsheets to sync with my ipad to and from my imac?

Even then there will still need to be some update/upgrade to Numbers & Pages for syncing to work.

Our iPhone 4 handled Facetime until two weeks ago. Now it trys to connect and then disconnects. My wife and I both have iPhone 4 and we cannot facetime with each other or with others

Two weeks ago both my wifes iPhone 4 and my iPhone 4 facetime stopped working. Others people with iPads have tried to connect with us using facetime and it all stopped. It trys to connect but then immediately disconnects. No changes to our internal wi-fi. I have checked the facetime settings and even reset my iPhone with no luck. My wife and I can not facetime when we are in the same room. All this worked for years before these last two weeks.

[SOLVED] midi and audio playback interfere with each other?

I've recently installed tux guitar and have been trying to use it together with an audio player (vlc player). However I am only able to get one of these applications generating sound at any one time.
If I load up a tab file and play it (using midi) from tuxguitar I find I am no longer able to play audio files in vlc player or rhythmbox.
After quiting tux guitar I can play audio again. But I can never get them both to work at the same time. (Really I just want to switch between applications without having to quit one to use the other.)
Any advice on how to start debugging this would be greately appreciated.

I just tested it out myself. First, I experienced the same problem that you did. Mplayer wasn't able to play any audio because is said the sound device was locked or in use or something silly. In Tux Guitar, I disabled the JACK and OSS plugins (and a lot of other plugins) and changed the sound settings to "TuxGuitar Sequencer" and MIDI Port "TiMidity port 0 [128:0]. (I have timidity setup as my MIDI "hardware", like it is described in the Arch wiki) After that (and rebooting), I was able to play a TAB file and an MP3 in mplayer at the same time.
Let me know if you have any questions about what I did.

Opinions on how to keep Projects and GL in balance with each other

We have a custom process that takes an Excel spreadsheet and allows the users to enter a Project transaction and a GL journal. We then have a program that splits the data between projects and GL and ftps the to the appropriate interface table. Within that program that splits the data, it also creates a clearing transaction for the total of the Projects dollars to be sent to GL. When Projects runs the Interface to GL, it uses Autoaccounting rules to credit the clearing account that was sent with the original entry. This is their way of keeping these specific entries in Projects and GL 'in sync'. How would you do this with standard functionality in Projects and GL? Do you have a similar business need to make an entry in GL and a matching entry in Projects? If so, how do you make those entries?
Example:
Projects transaction
expenditure type 70100,
Project 1/task1               100
GL journal
Account 11000                100
Clearing account 15505          -100
Run Distribute in PA
AA Rule account is 15009     -100
Run interface to GL from PA
AA Rule account is 15505     100
15505 is the clearing account between GL and PA.

If there is a logic that could be code using SQL statement, you may be able to use it to derive the AA credit cost clearing account.
If the clearing account is not based on any rules, then you might need to continue with existing process.

Can't sync Outlook 2011 calendar and contacts to IPhone

I have a user that just recieved a new Mac book air. She is using Outlook 2011 when she tries to sync her calendar and contact to her IPhone though iTunes. The sync gets stuck at syncing the calendar? I ran and installed all the latest updates for outlook and it looks like ical and outlook are talking to each other. But it never gets to her phone.

I have the same issue. I have rebuilt the identity identity in Outlook 2011 and at least got a ONE TIME sync between Outlook and iCal but Itunes and Outlook 2011 for Mac will not sync.

Two switches in server mode do not advertise their vlan info. with each other

I have some queries regarding the VTP advertisement as below.
Scenario.....
I have taken two switches named as switch-A and Switch-B connected with each other with port f0/1.I have defined f0/1 as trunk on both the switches.
Then i created the Vlan 2,3,4 on switch-A ,Switch-A configurations revision number got changed from 0 to 3.But when i look up the same on switch-B the revision number is 0 and the vlan that was created on Switch-A is not replicated to Switch-B.
Both Switch-A and Switch-B has default VTP domain configured i.e Null
Both the Switches are in Server mode.
On both the Switches domain password set to null.
Why the vlan is not getting advertise from Switch-A to Switch-B?.According to the vtp configuration they both belong to the same vtp domain i.e null.
So they should advertise the vlan information with each other.
Your suggestion will be appreciated on this.Awaiting for your reply

IPod as a conduit to sync iCal and Outlook 2003 with each other?

I am able to synchronize my work Outlook 2003 calendar and home Mac iCal with the iPod in two separate files on the iPod. I can see them both if I select "All". My questions are:
1. What should I do to sync the PC and the Mac with the same file on the iPod?
2. Is it possible to snychronize the iCal and Outlook with each other via the iPod?

If you mount your iPod on your Mac, navgate to the iPod Calendars folder and double-click on an ics file it will import the calendar into iCal. So you can sync from the PC to the iPod to iCal uni-directionally. If Outlook 2003 can import an ics file then you should be able to sync the other way as well. However, in both cases you will essentially be copying over one calendar with another, not really synchronizing.
