Can iChat be pinned above all other windows

would like to keep iChat chats pinned to desktop and kept above all other windows. Hate having to look for the window when I have multiple other things going on and if someone wants me vs others in the chat the bouncing icon doesn't do it for me. Thanks for the help

Raman,
This does not sound like an xMII issue but rather your computing environment.

  • How can I script a Flash .exe file to always stay on top of all other windows?

    Hi All,
    I'm new to action script, and I just need this one script
    > How can I script a Flash .exe file to always stay on top of
    all other windows?
    Basically what i want to do is have a flash-created
    step-by-step instructional movie, but for the movie to remain on
    top of all windows so the instructee is able to follow the
    instructions on-screen...
    It would be preferable to not have to buy another product
    just to do this... as I said, this is the only scripting I need.
    Thanks in advance
    Cheers

    if you create your exe with mProjector you can use one of its
    new AS
    commands to do this.

    mProjector installs new classes and help into Flash, to
    enable them you
    must build your app with mProjector (its input is your swf)

    Whenever I launch a new Google window, Google immediately re-opens all other windows I happen to have open but minimized. I then have to either close or re-minimize each window, one at a time. What a pain!!

    Just to address the last point: check your History menu to see whether you have the Restore Previous Session option and use that if you can. If that is grayed out or doesn't restore everything, check the Recently Closed Windows and Recently Closed Tabs lists for other pages.
    The unwanted window may be generated by an add-on. Try disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
    Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    Any improvement?
    Here are some other things to check:
    (1) user.js file that changes Firefox startup behavior and overrides your preferences. This article describes how to track that down and delete it if you have one: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].
    (2) Possible hijacked shortcut. Check the "target" of the desktop icon you use to start Firefox to see whether it lists the unwanted page. To do that:
    right-click the icon > Properties > Shortcut tab
    For 64-bit Windows 7, the Target should be no more and no less than this:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
    (3) Possible undisclosed bundle items. If you have installed any free software recently, check your Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a program for surprises. If you click the "Installed on" column head to group by date, it is easier to spot bundled junk. Remove everything suspicious or unrecognized.
    (4) Supplemental clean up scans. Our support article lists tools other Firefox users have found helpful: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
    Hopefully that cures it.

    Hi NicoMan,
    According to your description ,we seem to suffer a performance issue here.
    Have you tried to open the task manager to check the system performance  ? Is there any specific process occupied many system resources ?Will the issue occur only with the specific applications ?
    We can try to restart the Windows Explorer process to have a check.
    If it only occurred with the spefcific two applications ,we can try to end the other application processes manually from the task manager to have a check .
    If this is caused by the specific application ,we may need to look for help from the third party support considering they are all the third party applications .
    Best regards

  • PApplet/component is always above all other components except...

    Hi,
    I am working with java and a program off shoot of Java called Processing. Processing aids in the creation of java and it integrates itself into a swing component by extending into a PApplet(Processings version of an applet) which a JFrame sees as a component.
    Example:
    newJFrame.add(PApplet); <--- works perfectly except
    The integration of java/swing and processing in an application works very well except for one problem. The Processing class (PApplet) draws to the screen and when I put it into a JFrame, JPanel, JInternalFrame, etc the graphics are always above all other component except the JMenuBar. I found a fix for the JMenuBar to be this line of code JPopupMenu.setDefaultLightWeightPopupEnabled(false); I guess it tells the popup manager of the JMenuBar to not setDefaultLightWeightPopupEnabled which in turn, allows the JMenuItems to popup above the PApplet.
    Is there a way to force the PApplet/component to follow the rules of all other components? (setComponentZOrder, setLayer, etc) It works for the JMenuBar so I feel it should be able to work for all other components is there a way?
    Thanks,
    4dplane

    Thanks for the info; I believe you hit the nail on the head. Processing is open source so I looked in the PApplet class and it extends Applet, so this means processing is awt based.
    Thanks,

    Some, possibly, but shouldn't be a problem.

    Much of it is OSX and other things needed to run your Mac.

    ok, so i have 5 or 6 different windows with firefox's new tab feature. Each windows has about 6 websites/tabs in them. Whenever i close and reopen firefox all the tabs go under the startup window, and all other windows are gone.
    Should firefox 4 not restart with all windows and all tabs under the correct window?

  • The Firefox icon often disappears from the toolbar when I go to another window like Outlook or Media Player. When I close down all other windows it reappears again. What can I do about that?

    When it has disappeared I can open Firefox again using the menu or the opening icon on the toolbar, but then it only shows up blank, so without the tabs that were opened before. Closing down all other icons on the toolbar is the only way to make the Firefox icon reappear and for me to open Firefox again with all my tabs.
    Please excuse my English, the jargon is difficult.

    Thanks for your reply, cor-el.
    The odd thing is, this problem hasn't occurred again since I posted it. What kind of magic is that? :-))
    It really is odd, since I had it at least twice a week for several months.
    So far, so good, then.
    I'll wait a while more, and will then close it as being solved. I guess that's the procedure.
    We'll put it down to temporary bugs or pc mysteries.
    Though I like the magic option more...

  • Save as PDF dialog popping under all other windows using Acrobat 9

    One of my clients  recently upgraded a bunch of their workstations to Windows 7 64bit  Enterprise edition.  Now when they try to print to a PDF by selecting the print option in any application and then selecting the PDF printer, the dialog box pops  under all the other windows.  The result is the application appears to  freeze, as it is stuck at the 'now printing' screen.  See the below screenshot for a sample.  Meanwhile, the save as PDF dialog is still there and  if you click on the blank icon you can see in the attached screenshot,  the dialog will pop up and you can finish making the PDF.
    Steps  I've already taken to try to resolve this include: running a repair of  acrobat, uninstalling and reinstalling acrobat and removing and adding  the PDF printer.  So far none of this has had any effect.  I'm using the  current (that is 9.3.2) patch revision for acrobat.
    Any  help/suggestions would be most welcome!

    Are they really missing or there are place holders there? Have you gone to the preferences and turned on View Large Images? As an unrelated comment, do you really want images in a resume? Maybe if you are a graphic artist or such, but images are not common in most resumes I have seen and I would not expect such. However, that is really your choice, just wanted to comment.

  • "Window" drop-down shows no windows, if it's the 'primary' window; works fine with all other windows.

    The first time I opened Firefox after the 'upgrade' to 34.0.5, it restored all of my windows and tabs from the previous session, as it should. But the Window drop-down showed only "Minimize" and "Zoom", and didn't list any windows, not even the one I was in (I'll call it the 'primary', since it's the one that was listed first). If all of the windows were minimized, I would have nothing, but once I made a new window, all of the windows would show up in the Window drop-down. After some trial-and-error, it appears to happen *only* when the active window is the 'primary', it works fine when any other window is active.
    How can this be fixed?

    As I stated I already did this and it was not helpful. The drive is not near capacity, but I could not give you an exact answer on how full it is. I know my data is still there as I can see items but just cannot access any windows or menu items as no text is displayed.

  • Top and bottom of FireFox window disappear in seconds (the window expands too far). All other windows operate normally. Now what? I've uninstalled and reinsta

    I was using Firefox for a few years with great enjoyment. Recently I opened it and within a second or so, it enlarged to the point that the top and bottom of the screen expanded off the screen. No other windows in any other program are doing this. The only way to close it is by using the task manager. Very frustrated. What other info do you need?

    Hi ConnieHampton,
    FIrefox will remember the last window size you had, which is why it keeps opening too large each time you open and close it. To fix this, try resetting Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/changes-toolbars-and-window-sizes-are-not-saved?esab=a&s=resize+window&r=7&as=s
    If you don't see your menu bar, you may be in full screen mode, and can turn it off by following these instructions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-make-firefox-and-websites-go-full-screen?esab=a&s=full+screen&r=0&as=s
    If this doesn't work, please let us know and we'll figure out another way to fix it.

  • Adding Component above all other components

    My initial problem is to put the panel (which is created as a result of a click on a button) above all components that have been added to the GBLTablePanel. I've written the following sample that demonstrates my problem

         GBLTablePanel panel = new GBLTablePanel();
         f.add(panel);
         f.pack();
         f.setVisible(true);
    }I hope the example is not too confusing, honestly I'm not sure what do I try next to fix my problem. The panel simply does not show up :(

    Here is an example that might help you with using GridBagLayout:
    package table;
    * TableInGridbaglayout.java
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class TableInGridbaglayout extends JFrame {

        private JPanel panel;
        private JTable table;
        private boolean show;
        public TableInGridbaglayout() {
            super("TableInGridbaglayout");
            setDefaultCloseOperation(WindowConstants.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
            setSize(400, 300);
            setLocationRelativeTo(null);
            panel = new JPanel();
            table = new JTable(4, 4);
            btShowPanel = new JButton("Show Panel");
            panel.setBorder(BorderFactory.createTitledBorder("Panel on top of table"));
            panel.setVisible(false);
            getContentPane().setLayout(new GridBagLayout());
            GridBagConstraints gridBagConstraints;
            //panel:
            gridBagConstraints = new GridBagConstraints();
            gridBagConstraints.gridheight = 3;
            gridBagConstraints.fill = GridBagConstraints.BOTH;
            gridBagConstraints.weightx = 1.0;
            gridBagConstraints.weighty = 0.3;
            getContentPane().add(panel, gridBagConstraints);
            //table:
            gridBagConstraints = new GridBagConstraints();
            gridBagConstraints.gridx = 0;
            gridBagConstraints.gridy = 3;
            gridBagConstraints.fill = GridBagConstraints.BOTH;
            gridBagConstraints.weightx = 1.0;
            gridBagConstraints.weighty = 1.0;
            getContentPane().add(new JScrollPane(table), gridBagConstraints);
            //button:
            gridBagConstraints = new GridBagConstraints();
            gridBagConstraints.gridx = 0;
            gridBagConstraints.gridy = 4;
            gridBagConstraints.anchor = GridBagConstraints.SOUTH;
            gridBagConstraints.weightx = 1.0;
