Can icloud delete email from non-apple email accounts?

Just wondering if there is any way that icloud would be able to delete emails en masse from a non-apple/me/cloud email account. I seem to have no email prior to May 1 on an IMAP email account I have hosted elsewhere. Using Lion (of course) and the most current version of the Mail app and am referring to incoming email only.
Thanks!
Chris

"External" email accounts (e.g. google, yahoo, etc.) have no connection with iCloud.  You set up accounts for these email services in the mail program and can do the usual things with them (view emails, move to folders, delete, etc.) but they are in now way related to iCloud.

    Depending on what you are using the AppleId for specifically, you will need to open the setting s app and sign out of his and sign inwith your own in the following areas:
    iCloud
    Mail,Contacts,Calendars
    FaceTime
    iTunes and App Store
    Music (only for Home sharing)

  • Add new email from previous Apple ID account

    Dear Apple,
    I would like to associate my email address with another account but it keeps telling me I'm already associated with another account. I have deleted the email address in question from all Apple ID accounts but it still won't work. Please assist.
    Kind regards
    Dwayne

    You can't get the apps back. You can never transfer them to your account. He bought the apps with his ID and they never really belonged to you. That is not how the terms of the iTunes/App Store/iBookstore work. Purchases are tied to the ID that was used to purchase them.
    If you sign into his ID on your iPad, in Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID - you will be able to download them again at no charge since you are using his ID. But ... You will lock yourself out of your own ID for 90 days.

  • How can I delete podcasts from the Apple TV podcast menu on my television?

    There are podcasts that I prefer my kids not know I listen to...they are gone from iTunes yet they appear on the Apple TV menu and I can't seem to figure out how to delete them?  Is it possible?  Thanks!

    I understand that you would like to delete podcasts from your Apple TV that have already been deleted from iTunes. In this situation, I would recommend reading over the following post and using the troubleshooting steps within.

  • Can I transfer money from on apple id account to another?

    I made an apple id account, but forgot the security questions. So I made another, but I need the money off another to buy music.

    You need to ask Apple to reset your old Apple ID's security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.
    Creating a new Apple ID to deal with forgotten security answers should only be done when desperate to make a purchase. It isn’t possible to transfer the iTunes Store credit without contacting Apple, and if someone’s going to do that, they’re better off asking for the questions to be reset instead.

  • Can AppleScript/Mail recover from non-existent email address?

    I have an AppleScript which automatically sends HTML emails after a delay of a few days from receipt of an incoming email produced by a web form. It works well except for one issue:
    The address it sends to are picked up from the web form so I have been testing failure modes for various badly formed email addresses. Most fail gracefully with NDNs except if the domain does not exist. In this case Mail opens a dialog window with "Cannot send message using server etc". This is not good for an unattended Mac automatically processing thousands of emails a day. Mail appears not to inform AppleScript of this glitch.
    Any thoughts about a solution would be appreciated.
    I only have Tiger and Leopard but this script will eventually run on a recent Mac.

    This is a style thing, but I try to write my code so it is easy to debug.
    if (do shell script "x='" & w & "';
    z=${x##*@};
    t=`dig +short ${z%>*} MX`;
    echo ${#t}") > 0 then display dialog "send"
    It is hard to debug what is being passed to Unix.
    I'd write this something like
    [[ I have not tested this ! ]]
    [ I have not taken in Hiroto's comments ]:
    -- I write the code so as to debug it.  I would not assume the statement above would work the first time.
    -- I let the log statements in the final code.  They do not do anything outside of the script editor.
    set toUnix to  "x='" & w & "';
    z=${x##*@};
    t=`dig +short ${z%>*} MX`;
    echo ${#t}"
    log "toUnix = " & toUnix
    set result to do shell toUnix
    log "result = " & result
    -- I do not understand this statement. Shoudn't we be testing for the length of result? Or not equal to null?
    if result > 0 then
      display dialog "send"

  • How can I delete movies from my apple tv wishlist?

    Hello,
    I know how to modify my wishlist on apple tv 2. The only thing is I am only allowed to add movies to the wishlist or to change the order of these movies. Is it possible to delete single movies from this list on apple tv 2?
    Thanks a lot in advance,

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Go back to the movie using search in top movies, instead of the option to add to wishlist you now have the option to remove it from the wishlist.

  • HT202667 I am ditching my non-Apple email address and want to stop using it. My husband's ID is his icloud email, why can't mine be?

    I don't want to run two email addresses and want to use my icloud email address for all correspondence. Itunes keeps sending me emails to my old address and it won't let me change my Apple ID to my icloud address. My husband's is using his without any issues. Is there a way round this?

    I'm afraid not. While people who started with iTools or MobileMe had their @mac.com/@me.com (and now @icloud.com) address as the ID from the start, and people who open a new Apple ID and iCloud account at the same time from the iCloud preference pane can choose to make the @icloud.com address the ID, if it's the case that your ID is a non-Apple email address you can change it to another non-Apple email address but you cannot change it to your @icloud.com address.
    You can of course set up forwarding from the ID address to the @icloud.com address so that you only have to look in one place. However you should be aware that if the setup means that you can only be contacted by Apple at the @icloud.com address, then if you have a problem such as a forgotten password or a corrupted account, Apple can only contact you at an address you cannot access so it's essential to have a 'rescue address'.

  • Now that iCloud has done away with galleries, how can we share as I did with MobileMe? How can we sync non-Apple email accounts across multiple computers?

    Now that iCloud has done away with galleries, how can we share as I did with MobileMe? How can we sync non-Apple email accounts across multiple computers?

    You will need to find a third party solution for online storage in order to share things like photos with others. Some popular solutions to this are dropbox and sugarsync.
    You cannot sync non-iCloud email accounts across your iOS devices and computers unless they are IMAP accounts like iCloud. If they are IMAP accounts, you will do it in the same way as you have always done.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
    This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
    However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
    The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID, verify the changes, enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone".
    You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, verify it once again, delete the iCloud account from your device and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • I have two Apple ID, how can I delete one and use the email address associates to the main one?

    I have two Apple ID, how can I delete one and use the email address associates to the main one?

    If you abandon one of the Apple IDs you will also basically be abandoning any content that you have acquired with that Apple ID. Content can only be updated and re-downloaded with the Apple ID that was used to buy it. Apple will not combine the content of Apple IDs and Apple will not transfer the content from one Apple ID to another Apple ID.

    When first registering with iCloud at the Apple store I had to provide a non-Apple email. How do I now change that email on iCloud?

    Your iCloud login is an Apple ID, and if you go to http://appleid.apple.com you can change the ID to another non-Apple email address that has never been associated with an Apple ID. You cannot change it to your @icloud.com address.
