Can iCloud sync my exchange account (work) that I get on my iPhone with my iPad and iMac?

I want to have 1 point of contact to work's exchange account on my phone. Then have icloud move the info from my iphone to my ipad and imac without the ipad and imac setup with exchange also. Does icloud do that?

Exchange accounts sync without any 3rd party assistance, just put the same account on all devices (ipad/phone and Mac)

Great question! What type of email account are you using? Most email providers these days offer IMAP accounts (as opposed to POP). With IMAP, your changes should reflect across your devices (for example: if you read an email on your iPhone, it should be marked as read on your iPad). Have you set up iCloud on all 3 devices and turned on Notes syncing? On the Mac: Apple Menu > System Preferences > iCloud and put a check mark beside Notes. On the other two, Settings > iCloud and turn Notes on. More info on iCloud setup: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

Hi...before I start please know that I am really stupid when it comes to technology so forgive me if anything I say is dumb. I am trying to put my university mail which is microsoft exchange outlook account onto my iphone 4s....I can do it if i don't click on the 'exchange' option, but through 'other mail' and doing it via pop however this only lets me receive my new mail - I can't send mail or delete mail. The trouble is everytime I try adding the account with 'exchange' option it always says 'unable to verify account information' even though I know all the information I put in..username, password, server... is 100% correct. It's so frustrating. I set up the account on my macbook pro and it works perfectly. Is there I way to add it on my iphone from my mac!?? This is so frustrating I really would appreciate the help thank you

The questions on mail and MobileMe are ones that I have, too. But another question/issue that I have is the inability for my iPhone to separate calendars for me. I have 2 work calendars and one personal calendar. Plus I have a family calendar. I would really like to be able to look at my calendars on the iPhone and see what I have for personal, family and business. I was able to do this with my old Blackberry.
When I looked at the video for MobileMe, it seemed to accomplish this on the computer (mac or pc) but I don't remember seeing the iPhone give good distinction between different calendars (i.e. syncing different calendars or separating them by colors).
Any thoughts?

Just use IMAP for the accounts. I have 4 Exchange accounts in my Mail app and they are all set up that way. but yes, there can only be 1 Exchange account (which I believe has more to do with the Exchange API than Macs)

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

If any of you are like me, I had one single AppleID under MobileMe. Under my AppleID I had two additional Email addresses, one for my wife and one for her Mother. Each used their individual email accounts on their login on the home Mac and on their individual Iphones.
In order for them to not lose their email acounts when mobileMe goes away and/or you move your appleID acount from MobileMe to iCloud, you simply need to beaware of the folowing. Have each person with an email address under your AppleID MobileMe go to www.me.com; enter their email account and password in the corresponding fields. However, don't press the login button. Instead press the sentence under the login fields that says something to the effect of "do you want to move/migrate to iCloud. Follow the prompts from there.
In essence what Apple has done--albeit not communicated anywhere--is that they automatically created AppleIDs for each of those additonal email addresses you have/had under MobileMe. Therefore, use that email and password after moving from MobileMe to iCloud and your good to go.

Restore in recovery mode will work, be persistent and retry
Recovery restore challenges
- computer didn't detect recovery iphone, attempted and failed 3 times
rebooted computer then recovery restore worked
- recovery restore was successful, unlocked, and iMessage/Facetime, Find My Iphone, ALL WORKS!
Restore from backup challenges
* Make sure you have plenty of harddrive space!
- have to restore first then restore from backup, i did this incorrectly by restoring from backup and the find my iphone feature got stuck forcing me to recovery restore
- each restore from backup attempt will copy the original backup and create another backup folder. My original was about 10gb, so it copied another 10gb onto my computer's harddrive
- when i restore from backup, my computer ran out of space and errored out/failed.
- I tried again to restore from backup then figured out where the backup data folder was and tried to transfer to external harddrive but not quick enough and failed again.
- finally cleared the extra backup data files and restore from backup was successfull
Missing apps from restore from backup
- Downloaded all my missing Apps from APP store
- I have 300+ apps and there are only 15 screen scrolls, have to organize before apps will populate and load, very difficult to organize now. Wished I had sync Apps first.
Conclusion
This process took me literally 20+ hours to correct and will probably take me few more hours to organize the apps into their respective folders...
At least I got everything to work. Hope this helps!

Yes per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946 setup iCloud on all devices under the same account and backup to the cloud. If its two iPhones, are they both one owner? If not,it's best to not setup iCloud on a device that is not the same owner.

I think iCloud isn't coming until this fall and not until iOS 5 is publicly available. Right now there is confusion because all this stuff is still in beta and things are under NDA and may still change.
I'd just set the 3GS up the same as currently. When iOS 5 is available in the fall (and I don't think Apple has specified beyond "fall"), before you update, there should be any number of guides to setting things up and how it will all work. http://macworld.com is a good place to look for such information.

I sync my iPhone with my MacBook Pro.
I installed the 3.1.2 firmware update today with a PC laptop running Vista that I haven't synced my iPhone with. I made sure the Windows laptop was running the current iTunes version, and before connecting my iPhone, I disabled automatic syncing when any iPod or iPhone is connected which is done via iTunes preferences under the Devices tab.
I took a risk and didn't create a backup for my iPhone when prompted. The firmware update followed by installing the AT&T carrier update was done without a hitch.
This is risky without having a backup (which I could have done beforehand) and without having any of my iTunes content available on the PC if there was a problem installing the update.
Do the same at your own risk. The worst would be not having any iTunes content to transfer back to your iPhone in the event you needed to restore your iPhone with iTunes on a different computer but if you allow iTunes to create a backup for your iPhone in advance, at least you could restore your iPhone from your newly created iPhone backup in the event of a problem.
