Can iMovie '11 run on OS 10.5.8 Leopard?

Question

I have OS 10.5.8 (Leopard).
It says that to run iLife '11, one must have OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Because I had a bad experience last year after installing Snow Leopard, I un-installed it and am back to Leopard/10.5.8.
I am wondering if I could stick with Leopard and use only iMovie '11. My hunch is that the requirement for 10.6 comes from Garage Band, which I never have used and never will.
Am I correct in thinking that I can buy iLife '11 and install only iMovie '11 and run it on Leopard / 10.5.8 without a problem?

Hi Lorna
I've also hesitated from time to time and solved this by use of one or more external
hard disks that I've prepared to use as Start-up HDs. So Now I've got one
X.3.9 and one X.4.11 and one X.5.8
Vife MacBook Pro is X.6.4
By use of different hard disks or partitions I can keep an environment that works
for different applicaions.
Hard disk MUST
• be a FireWire one (Western Digitals - do not work due to Chip-set in them)
• be formatted as Mac OS X.6.3 or 4 (for iLife'11)
In this way one can test a product but not risk a working solution
