Can InDesign recognise a URL from a PDF within a picture box?

I want to find out if InDesign can recognise a URL from a PDF which I have pulled into a picture box?
We are using InDesign and DPS to create magazine apps from PDF pages, a lot of these pages have a lot of URL's which we need live in the app. At the moment we create a hyperlink box, open the pdf from the links window and cut and paste each URL into each hyperlink box.
Is this the only way or are we missing something??
Thanks,
B

Is there any sort of workaround?
I was thinking, is there a way to pull the URL's from the pdf's (before importing into InDesign) and then adding them into some sort of list in InDesign, then use the Hyperlinks panel to select the correct URL for the correct Hyperlink box??

    Yes, if you're using Adobe Acrobat you can do it...

  • Can't launch an URL with a .pdf extension fron 7.0.1 as i could in earlier version 3.5.x?

    The website target is dropbox.com. One can access a saved pdf file
    directly using the format:
    dropbox.com/u/1536975/Schedule_2011.pdf
    where the all numeric is a filename. This worked from version
    3.6.3 but not in 7.0.1 . When l try to launch the URL, FF momen-
    tariley starts to process it then stops. There is no further action on it by FF and it continues to run normally.

    Thanks for this mha007 - I can now open FF with a new profile. Can I copy my settings from the old profile or will this bring over the same problem, maybe a corrupt file. If it would bring the same problem, is there any way I can check which file is corrupt, apart from taking them over one by one?

  • How can I block a url from accessing my browser?

    I want to block a url from accessing my browser. The url in question, djbsaqja.co.cc, flashed a pop-up saying that my computer was infected with a dangerous virus and that "Windows Security" required that I download a program to fix it.
    I maintain realtime virus protection, but ran a manual scan anyway, which proved that I was clean.
    The url listed above would not let me out of an unending chain of popups, demanding that I download their tool.
    Instead, I opened a new Firefox session (it was the only way I could re-enter Firefox without this rogue url taking control), then cleared out my history, cache and cookies.
    I'm clean...and now I'm back in control with, I believe, no damage. But since I wrote down the url, is there a way that I can block from accessing my browser again?
    Thanks for the help.

    You can add it to your hosts file - http://allthingsmarked.com/2006/08/28/howto-block-websites-using-the-hosts-file
    Sites like that pop up on a regular basis, but will often get taken down quite quickly. I have just checked and the site appears to have been taken down.

  • Can I save selected pages from a PDF into another PDF

    In other words:
    I have a Pdf with 100 pages and I only want to save 10 pages.
    they are continuous i.e. pages 15-28
    I have Adobe XI version 11.0.07
    Thanks

    Hi greg14,
    For starters, you will need Acrobat to extract pages from a PDF. (It's not something that you can do with the ExportPDF service.) If you don't have Acrobat, you can download a free 30-day trial from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.
    Then, to extract pages, you would follow these steps:
    Click on the Tools panel on the right side of the Acrobat window.
    Click Pages to expand that category.
    Click Extract.
    Enter the page range that you want to extract in the From: and To: text boxes.
    Click OK. Your pages are extracted into a new file.
    Choose File > Save As to save the new file.
    I hope that does the trick!
    Please let us know if you have additional questions.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Urgetn - Can you call a url from a workflow?

    Hey,
    Does anyone know if you can call a url from a workflow?
    Your urgent attention would be grateful.

    I have done this in a form. You could put a manual action to call the form then display the url (Technical Reference 3-14)
    <Field>
    <Display class='Link'>
    <Property name='name' value='Request
    Group Access'/>
    <Property name='URL'
    value='user/processLaunch.jsp?newView=true'>
    <Property name='id' value='Group Request
    Process'/>
    </Display>
    </Field>
    Hope this helps

  • Can not copy a URL from the address bar/line

    Why is it proving so difficult for me to copy a URL from the address bar using Safari?  When I click on the link I want to copy, it does not highlight.  I have used Command L and Command C, and that works but there has to be a simpler way.  I also read that if I click the address bar once, then press the control key and click on it again that a menu would appear with cut, paste, copy.  That does happen, but all options are greyed out, and not selectable.  Another google search resulted in someone saying there was a button or arrow to click on and that this tool would copy the URL.
    The URL I am copying is very long, longer that the address bar window

  • Can I extract images/items from a pdf?

    I lost my hard drive! (D'oh!)
    But I do have some hi-res pdf files made from the original files (InDesign).
    Is it possible to extract discrete components from pdfs? Such as images, text blocks, etc?
    It seems like it should be possible, but I'm wondering if one must be a PostScript coder or somesuch.
    Cheers!
    ~Ben

    Excellent! Thank you both, George and Steve.
    I have CS3, so v8.3.1 or Acrobat. So that process is Advanced > Document Processing > Export all images.
    Oddly, it tells me that it can't extract/export vector images. I suppose that means AS SUCH, since it managed to export JPEG versions of images that I know were .eps format. Strange, but true!
    Thanks again!

  • Can you edit multiple images from a PDF in photoshop?

    I scan a lot of old publications with images and drawings. The images are in greyscale, but my scanner produces better results set to color. As such, I have to convert the images to greyscale in Photoshop from Acrobat. I have several PS actions that make this process easier, but I wish there was a way to select multiple images from a page or PDF file and run the actions on them (a batch) instead of one at a time. Is there? Or perhaps another method than what I am doing?

    I recommend that you scan first, save as TIFF, do any desired correction, and only then make PDFs. Scanning direct to PDFs is great for simple uncomplicated workflows, but a liability when correction is needed.
