  • Can anyone inform me how to password protect iphone on boot/startup

    Hi,
Can anyone inform me how to password protect iphone on boot/startup like a normal phone/smartphone. Im not talking about the passcode lock feature.
    Thanks,
    Joe

I'm not sure what you are looking for, Joe. The passcode lock code is also required when restarting the phone after turning it off, and when rebooting after a reset procedure.

  • Can an individual webpage on iWeb be password protected?

I want to be able to password protect certain pages, not all of my iMac iWeb pages. Is this possible?

  • I can't open number files with password protection?

I am using OSX 10.9.4 with Numbers 3.2.2 (1878) and have one file which is password protected. While opening the file with Numbers, it prompts for the password after correct entry I receive the friendly message: "xxx" can't be opened.  That's it.
    Any solution out there?
    Thanks, Hansjoerg

Your observation seems to be right because it was not the first time I recognized this effect. However, it is bitter to see that professional SW like Numbers can't hangle this option (password protection) correctly. It might have to do with the fact that the data file from Numbers is actually not a single file but a container with lost of files an subdirectories. Why the **** they make it so complex?
Anyway, many thanks for your hint. I hope to find a tool which can correct those corrupted Number-files.

  • Can the default image for a password protected album be changed?

Apologies in advance if this question has already been asked. I have created a number of photo albums to my web gallery and password protected each of them. When I navigate to the main web gallery page however, each of the galleries appear as a black and white graphic of two photos. Is there any way to change this to something else?
Also, is there a way to send out an invitation to view the gallery as a whole and therefore let people view the albums they want? I just really love the invite card that is created when the album is published from iPhoto.
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Can I allow commenting on a password-protected document?

I'd like to publish a book online and so want to at least password-protect it.    From what I have read, this precludes "Enable For Commenting".
Is there a way to publish a password-protected document but have the users still be allowed to attach comments of their own (for their own use) ?
    Thanks,
    -Ed

As soon as I enable commenting, the "encrypt with password" option is greyed-out so I cannot perform that action any more. Is there another way to encrypt it once comments have been anabled?
I am using Acrobat Pro Version 9.2.0 on a Windows 7 machine.   I open a PDF with it, selectComments > Enable for COMmenting and Analisys.    Then Advanced > Security > Encrypt With Password is greyed out (was not prior to enable comments).

  • Can't connect to a WEP password protected connection on XP Pro SP3 on MB

    Hi all
I've been trying to connect WiFi to my G5 tower with my MacBook in Windows XP Pro via Bootcamp
and when I don't have any password set on my "internet Sharing" prefs, I can connect fine BUT the moment I put a password (either 40 or 128 bits) I just can't connect on my XP why is this? Every thing is up to date on XP and have SP3. When I try this on the Mac OS X side on my MacBook with or without a password it works without any problems. So what can I do to log into a password WEP connection on the XP side??
    Thanks!!!!

I am having a similar problem. I can connect with my MacBook 13" thru airport using a name it always recognizes and is my own. When I try to connect with the iMac on my desk thru the same thing, it asks for a WEP password. I probably set it up myself, but have no need w/my lap top, but in the same house it wants a WEP password for my desk top(iMac), and I have no clue what it is.
One 10 meg cable connection to Linksys modem and then to Linksys Wireless-G BB router. Shouldn't I be able to get access w/o plugging the router into the desktop ???
Sorry for posting this in the wrong place, but I am not sure how to put it anywhere else .

  • Can a pdf be shared and password protected

Hi. Using the current free service to share a pdf file. Can the file require a password so that only viewrs with the link AND a  password can access the uploaded pdf?
    Thanks.

    Hi catcompton1
if you want to restrict that only People with link and a Password can open a PDF you need to Apply Password Security to PDF.
You Need to have Adobe Acrobat to do that ...
You Can Download Acrobat trial as well and use it for 30 days !

  • Password protect catalogues, folders and individual images

I would very much like to the ability to password individual catalogues and even specific folders or images.
In my main database i have some sensitive shots and would prefer not to accidentally browse over them to other clients.
Anyway, keep up the good work team and sorry i've not been able to join you since the original testing days before 1.0. The product has really matured in my absence.
    All the best,
    Simon Fuller

The "Password Protection" feature of iWeb works only to protect entire sites...not individual pages. The workaround, then, is to make the page that you want to protect a separate site in and of itself and password protect it. You can then create hyperlinks to this password protected site from your regular iWeb site.

  • Password protecting certain folders on a mac.

I have 2 macs in the house and 3 pcs connected through a netgear wireless router.  One of my macs is shared and has all documents and folders that all the other computers can see.  I want to password protect some folders so that other computers need password access to see them.  I have visitors come to the house with their laptops and when they join my wireless they can see my documents.  So, all I need is make these folders password protected.  I am using osx lion on the computer that shares the folders.

What program is the recommended program?
I haven't used anything I can recommend, but if I did, it would likely be a Iron Key as it has the advantage of being off the machine, easily disposable or locked in a safe.
However I've tried Filevault and Disk Images and I can say you don't want to go there to simply protect a few folders.
    Yes, I know, no help.

  • Password Protecting Personal File Sharing

    Hi,
I can't find an option to password-protect the Personal File Sharing in System Preferences - and if I click Network in Finder, I can see my Mac (local server) and am able to access any folder, app or whatever. Can people on other macs who joined my network do this? The firewall for PFS is turned on.
    Thanks guys.

You're not really turning PFS off. Didn't mean to give you that impression, sorry.
Sharepoints lets you specify which folders you ARE sharing, and password-protects them.
Just download it and see. A picture/demo is worth 1,000 words.
    This is donationware software.
Like it? pay the guy something.
Don't like it? Don't use it.
Don't want to donate a few shekels? Then don't. (cheapskate that's a wink, since I'm just joking with you there.
I am not affiliated with Sharepoints in any way.

  • Unzip Password protected EasyDMS71SP02P_1-20006126.ZIP file

    Hi,
I downloaded and am trying to unzip the SAP Easy DMS files which is password protected. Can someone please advise of the password required to unzip this file?
    Thanks and regards,
    Iqbal

    Hi Iqbal,
    ..unzip easydms files..
Could you elaborate more on this? Is this in reference to the original files that have been checked in as a zip file? If its the case, then you would have to reach out to the owner/individual who would have created/password protected the zip file and attached in DMS.DMS doesn't offer any password protection facility for originals.

  • Password protect website

    Hi
I need to password protect the website. The objective is to have simple security so that if a user accidentially hits this site he will get this password pop-up and will be able to distinguish between other site which is hosted on other server.
Server is on W2K m/c and no LDAP is available.
I tried adding a username to File realm and denying permissions to all except that user in default ACL but that didnt help.
    HELP....
    TIA

Not folder but file (I do hope you understand the difference). Have you tried to search SDN at all? I don't have much time, but before replying initially I did just a quick search and it brought several posts mentioning the archiving functionality. And I'm sure 'Smartform to PDF' will bring up gozillion posts. Also I find the Google search with addition 'site:sap.com' to be quite helpful.
However, I would still recommend to review the requirements. Why exactly do you need this password protection? If there is a fear that someone other than a recipient might get access to the email account then there is really a bigger security issue in the organization and it should be resolved by some other means. As I have mentioned, password does not really add much protection.
Out of curiosity I briefly looked at the IRM description on the Microsoft's web site and it doesn't seem to be very helpful. First of all, it's the MS software and has to be installed on the user's PC and configured (how do we know the emai recipients are even on Windows?). Also it does say "Prevent an unauthorized recipient from accessing e-mail content", but I didn't quite get how exactly. Is there a retinal scan that comes with it? And the list of things it does not do gives you the whole another perspective on the email security.
