Can iPhone 4s get virus's or be hacked.?

Can My iphone be hacked/fishing or get virus's? becuase sometimes when I turn it on and go to home screen it asked me for my apple ID and pass word and I wasnt updating any apps or buying anything???

Yes with an iPhone that has been hacked, or the cutsie term for it - jailbroken, which removes the built-in security making it the equivalent of an Android which is insecure.

  • Can iphone ios get virus and will system restore fix it

there has being discussions and news stating that there few ios viruses lurking in the internet, I was wondering if Iphone ios can get virus and if it can, will system restore solve the problem
Im suspicious because I went to a site that i cant remember and it took a long time to load, then was a aadvertisement that look like a app introduction in app store, i accidenally clicked the download button so i quickly closed the window after 2 seconds of loading.
    Thankyou for your support
Also bonus question-please tell me why cant i start the Game Total war battles:shogun with out an internet connection, with out it will crush

There are no known viruses that can affect or infect a non-jailbroken iOS device.  If it has not been jailbroken you cannot alter or write to the operating system.  So that should not be a worry for you.
There are websites that have some nasty behavior and will try and capture information or leave things like cookies behind that affect your web browser.  With iOS, again, there isn't much to worry about.  And stopping a download before it finished should leave you in good condition.
You can always, if things get strange, restore your system from a clean backup if you have backed up to iCloud or iTunes on a computer.  You can go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Settings which will leaver your apps intact but clear your settings, which you will have to go back and make sure you have your WiFi, etc set correctly, but that isn't necessary unless you start seeing a lot of strange behavior.
Clean up operation easily by doing a reboot - hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appears.
The bonus question - I don't do gaming so cannot offer any help with that issue.

  • HT4061 I opened a link from a spam e.mail. will it effect my iPad? can my iPad get viruses

I opened a link from an e.mail that turned out to be a spam, will it effect my iPad, can my iPad get a virus?

Yes. As long as you practice safe internetting. If you click on a phishing mail and enter your info into a bad site, your info is just as compromised as if you entered it on a computer. You can still be phished on an ipad. It will give you protection from viruses (they literally can't run) but your data is only as safe as your actions.

  • Can my MacPro get viruses from explicit sites

I just wanted to know If my Macbook Pro can get any viruses from viewing **** sites? I've heard from many people that Apple computers cannot get viruses, and from looking it up on google, i've heard that they can get viruses from them.

Mac OS X versions 10.6.7 and later have built-in detection of known Mac malware in downloaded files. The recognition database is automatically updated once a day; however, you shouldn't rely on it, because the attackers are always at least a day ahead of the defenders. In most cases, there’s no benefit from any other automated protection against malware.
The most effective defense against malware is your own intelligence. All known malware that affects a fully-updated installation of Mac OS X 10.6 or later takes the form of trojans, which can only work if the victim is duped into running them. If you're smarter than the malware attacker thinks you are, you won't be duped. That means, primarily, that you never install software from an untrustworthy source. How do you know a source is untrustworthy?
Any website that prompts you to install a “codec,” “plug-in,” or “certificate” that comes from that same site, or an unknown site, merely in order to use the site, is untrustworthy.
A web operator who tells you that you have a “virus,” or that anything else is wrong with your computer, or that you have won a prize in a contest you never entered, is trying to commit a crime with you as the victim.
“Cracked” versions of commercial software downloaded from a bittorrent are likely to be infected.
Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, must be downloaded directly from the developer’s website. No intermediary is acceptable.
Disable Java (not JavaScript) in your web browser(s). Few websites have Java content nowadays, so you won’t be missing much. This setting is mandatory in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier, because Java in those versions has bugs that make it unsafe to use on the Internet. Those bugs will probably never be fixed, because those older operating systems are no longer being maintained by Apple. Migrate to a newer version of the Mac OS as soon as you can.
Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be as safe from malware as you can reasonably be.
Never install any commercial "anti-virus" products for the Mac, as they all do more harm than good. If you need to be able to detect Windows malware in your files, use ClamXav — nothing else.

  • Can mac books get viruses

Hey can mac books get viruses

Asking only about Viruses sometimes gets you an answer that is more narrow than intended.
Macs can get some malware, but luckily not at the alarming rate PCs running Windows do.
Thomas Reed, a frequent contributor here, has a very accessible article on the subject of mac malware:

  • Why can't i get virus scan to work with downloads

I had Firefox before, and everytime I downloaded a file it scanned it. Now no matter what I do it will not run a virus scan!

Firefox doesn't do the "AV scan", it hands the scan off to the "registered" anti-virus application that you have installed. The "scan" should be done so fast that you shouldn't see more than a flash instance from Firefox of a scan being performed on the downloaded file, even if it is a large file like a 360Mb ISO image.
If you saw (or see) the download scan dialog run for like 4 to 5 seconds, or more, '''a scan isn't actually being performed''' - Firefox is giving you a misleading indication that a scan is being performed, when it isn't. ''It's like Firefox is blowing smoke up your arse, with a false indication. ''
I filed a Bug about this issue almost two years ago and it remains UNCONFIRMED. I only discovered it because I was doing am initial load of software on a PC that I had just built for myself, the first brand new one in over ten years, at the time. I was using a newly installed Firefox to download the Anti-Virus application I was going to install, and Firefox showed the download was being scanned, when I didn't even have an AV program installed on Windows 2000!<br />
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480855
Three similar Bugs that others have filed. <br />
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461989 <br />
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=501645 <br />
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=530307
I can't even find a list of the exact anti-virus applications that have the proper "hooks" in Windows that Firefox uses to "connect" the file being downloaded with the AV application - from either Microsoft or from Mozilla.
IMO, that feature is broken at least, and at the worst it gives an invaild indication that a scan is being performed when it isn't because the user either doesn't even have an AV application installed, or has an AV program that isn't compatible with this feature - I think Firefox should tell the user in both those situations.

  • Can windows computers get viruses from a mac on the same network?

    Hi,
I am using a Powerbook G4 powerPC running OSX 10.3. My current employers think that my computer is giving their system viruses by being hooked up to their network. The network is all windows, and I can't actually see their computers on the network. All I can do is connect to the internet.
As is my understanding, which could be wrong, a) there are virtually no viruss for Apple computers, b) any virus for an apple computer cannot effect a Windows computer, and c) Mac computers do not act as carriers for viruses written for Windows, and as long as I'm not downloading anything I shouldn't (which I don't, virtually every file on my computer either came with the installation disk or was created on my computer). Is there any way I can actually be giving them viruses that would effect a windows machine? And if so, is there any way to protect against that?

The only way you can be giving coworkers a virus from your Mac is if you forward one to them in an email. Well, either that are directly copying it to their PC. For you topic questions:
    a) Actually, there are none. At least not yet. A few Trojans, but no viruses.
    b) Correct. Wrong machine code. They wouldn't run even if you did send them an older virus (one of a couple dozen Mac viruses from OS 9 and earlier)
    c) Not as you describe. But you can be a carrier via email. Even there, you have to accidentally or knowingly send it to them. A Windows virus cannot self propagate from your Mac as it can in Windows.
This all assuming your are using your Mac only as a Mac and not running Windows through Virtual PC or in some other way. If you are, then the Windows environment will be every bit as vulnerable as it would be on typical PC hardware.

  • Can apple products get viruses

are apple products vulnerable to viruses.

Nothing is impossible, but as long as you do not "jail break" your iPod touch and load software from a source that is NOT Apple's App Store, you should not worry about it.

Have you ever heard the old saying.. if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is?
It's sites such as this where you can inadvertently pick up malware or worse, a virus.
Only purchase Apple products from an Apple store, or the Apple online store, or an Apple certified reseller.

  • Is It Possible For An iPhone To Get A Virus?

I'm just curious about this, i'm sure many people are too. Is it possible? I personally don't think so since Apple has such tight security. Example: Most, if not all apps (i'm not sure on this) can only be downloaded through the App Store, which Apple has to approve of first. You can't just go to a website and download anything on your phone, eliminating virus risk from web browsing. And email is on your phone, so that wouldn't be easy to hack. Not to mention countless firewalls. So is it possible? I've never heard of it. (this being for non-jailbroken devices which (jailbreaking) may not me discussed)

    No, iPhones/iPads can't get viruses.

  • Can iPhone Give Viruses to Your Windows PC Computer?

if iPhone has a virus, can it give virus to your computer? Also, is there such thing as an iPhone virus? could you get it from using safari when you surf on the web?

In theory its possible.    If i were a clever ******* i chould use something like the PDF exploit to add a file to the part of the iphone that comes up as a disk when pliuged into windows and in conjustion use an expolit in windows that can be used to install a virus from a usb mas storage to do something evil.
1 I don't think this had ever be done in wild.
    2.  Its a really over convloted way to do it and most likely not work any one whos smart enoght to pull it offs time for ammount of impact it chould create.
