CAN IPHONE PRINT FROM AIRPORT EXPRESS

hi i just want it i can print from my iphone 4s to the airport express.

You will need an AirPrint compatible printer for this. Check this support document to see if your printer might be compatible.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
If you do not have an AirPrint compatible printer, you might still be able to get printing going by using an application like Printopia on your Mac. There is a free trial so you can check to see if it will work.

  • Can't Print From Airport Express

Hi. I'm connecting my Epson printer to an Airport Express (g) via usb.
Airport Setup Utility can see the printer, "allow printing over WAN" is checked, the apps can see it - but when I try to print it stalls then says "printer not online."
Any ideas? I'm printing from a MacPro QC 2.66. Ideally I'd like to hook a USB hub up to the Express' usb port, so I can use a scanner as well, but for now I'd be happy to get just one usb device, the printer working.
I read the apple docs on using hubs, so not sure that's possible, but the printer hooked directly to the usb port on the express should work, anyway - right? But all I get is "printer not online" even though the apps can see it.
    Any help appreciated.

Not all printers are compatible. Checkout "The iFelix unofficial Airport Extreme and Airport Express Printer Compatibility List"

Sorry but the USB port on Apple's base stations do not support scanning.

  • Iphone printing via airport express, airport extreme or time capsule

I see lots of info about air print. What I don't understand is why I cannot print something from my iphone via an airport express or time capsule connected printer.  Makes no sense.  What is the workaround here?  Is the only solution to buy an air print enabled printer?
My current setup is time capsule--2 iphones, 2 Macbook Pros, 1 ipad. One airport express (extending the network of my TC) . The airport express has my printer connected to it.
What the heck?  Couldnt Steve fix this before he went to the light?

    Hi,
From my own experience - iPhone 3GS X2, iPad 2 all running iOS 4.3.5 to a MacMini running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 - AirPrint Activator works like a charm. It's awesome. But my shiny new iPhone 4S ( running iOS 5 ) refuses to see any printers. I have reinstalled AirPrint Acitvator ( as per their web site ), to no avail. I have tried connecting my printers directly to my AirPort Extreme to see if my 4S would see a network printer. But no joy. DONT UPGRADE TO iOS 5 if printing is important to you!!

The HP Mac drivers are incompatible with wireless printing.
    Use the process outlined here:

  • Can no longer print from Airport Express

I have an Airport Express base station model A1084 that had been working fine. I have a printer attached to it that did work, but now whenever it is used it shows offline. The Airport is connected to a DLink DGL-4100 router which is connected to a cable modem. Wireless access to the internet works fine. I also have an iMac connected to this network. The Airport utility on the iMac can only see the Airport when I turn on the wifi on the iMac. If I turn off the wireless on the iMac, it cannot find the Airport. I have discovered that the iMac can print to the printer when the wifi is on but not when it is turned off. Performance is very slow. The other devices can see the printer but not print to it. I suspect that an update to something is the source of the problems. All of the software and firmware is up to date.
    Any help is appreciated.
    John

The Airport is connected to a DLink DGL-4100 router which is connected to a cable modem.
With the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) connected directly to the upstream D-Link router by Ethernet, I assume that you have the AX reconfigured as a bridge, i.e., Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode) ... correct?

  • Can not stream from Airport express speakers

    Only from iTunes!
but from iPhone is working perfecty!

i have an airport express version 6.3 which i can not configure with my airport utility software nor update.
Philly_Phan has good advice for you as far as keeping things simple, but if your current operating system on your Mac will not support the older Express model that you have.....as I suspect is the case here.....it is going to take more than simplicity to solve your issue.
You did not tell us what operating system you are running on your Mac, but a guess would be Mountain Lion. Can you confirm on that?
If you do not know what operating system you are using on your Mac, click the Apple icon at the upper left corner of the screen and then click on About This Mac. Post back with the OS X version number that you see there.

  • Can I Print Through Airport Express With A Lexmark x5150?

Am I able to print through A.E. with my Lexmark X5150 All-in-one? I'm having issues. It's recognized by my laptop, but won't print through A.E. It does, however, print when the USB is plugged into my lBook directly. I think I have the latest drivers installed. Can anyone offer up any suggestions/help? Thanks in advance......

The Lexmark X5150 is not on the list of supported printers found at http://www.efelix.co.uk/tech/1013.html . Based on your findings, I suspect this printer just won't work with anything but a direct connection to your Mac's USB port.
Not many all-in-one printers are supported for connection via an Airport Express. For those few models that do work, only printing is possible - other functions like scanning won't work. For some all-in-ones, an alternative driver can be found that will at least support printing - but I cannot find any alternative driver that will work with the x5150.

  • Windows can't print to Airport Express connected printer

installed new Airport Express replacing an old Linksys wireless router. Have a mix of Windoze and Mac clients that need to connect to shared (USB Connected) printer, supported off the AE router.
All Mac clients are able to see, connect to, and print to the USB attached MFC 440CN Brother printer.
The Windows devices cannot connect to, see, or utilize the same printer.
Any thoughts on what setting I might have Ito change in order to correct this problem?
    Thanks

  • I have an Ipad and Iphone but I don't have an Airprint, only a WIFI printer,my question is if I connect the wifi printer to Airport express, can I print from Ipad and Iphone ?

I have an Ipad and Iphone but I don't have an Airprint at home but only a WIFI printer, my question is if I connect the wifi printer to Airport express, can I print from Ipad and Iphone ? Please help me if anyone knows about this.

Unfortunately, connecting a non-AirPrint-enabled printer to an AirPort base station's USB port will not make it AirPrint-ready.
You will need to use another solution, like Printopia, to be able to print to this printer from an iOS device.

  • Can I print from my iPhone/iPad via my Airport Express without my Mac being switched on?

When I want to print on my home system I must have my Mac running on the network.  I prefer to have that switched off in the evening as I just use the iPhone /iPad from a separate building (within the extended network) but need to print!
Airport Express is set up .... Router -erthernet -> Airport Extreme -wireless -> A.Express (Extended)  --> ethernet -> to Brother MFC-9120CN.
Is there a way to set that up without the need for a separate print server???
    Thanks

Chances are, you have already tried this and already know the answer.
But, if not....sorry, but no......since your printer is not AirPrint compatible, you must use the extra software workaround in the Mac.
A newer AirPrint printer would allow you to do what you want.

  • How can I print from my IPAD3 to a printer connected to Airport Express?

How can I print from my IPAD3 to a printer connected to Airport Express? I have a HP printer and I can print from all my Windows PC and iMAC in the house. How can I print from my IPaD?

    You cannot.
The USB port on the AirPort Express allow sharing a printer with Windows and Mac OS X, not with iOS:
"Wireless printing over USB requires a compatible printer and OS X v10.2.7 or later, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7":
    http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/#wireless-printing
"AirPrint-enabled printers  connected using Bluetooth or shared through a USB port of a Mac, PC, AirPort Base Station, or Time Capsule are not supported":
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
The HP ePrint app also does not provide such functionality:
Can I print from the HP ePrint mobile app using USB or Bluetooth?
No. You can only print directly to supported HP printers on a local wireless network.

  • Can you print from an iPad through the airport express

can you print from an iPad 2 through the airport express

You can, if your printer is AirPrint compatible.
Check this Apple support document to see if your printer appears:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
If your printer is not compatible, you might still be able to print by adding an App like Print Central to the iPad.

  • How can I print from my iPhone to a non AirPrint printer

How can I print from my iPhone to a non AirPrint printer?  I was told by an Apple tech to do so via Airpot Express USB port. I already have a wired and wireless network and printers connected via Ethernet.  I am just trying to print from my iPad and/or iPhone to my existing printers...if possible. I tried the airport express but that does not appear to do what I need. Any help or a definitive "no way" would be appreciated.

There are third-party apps that permit this. If on a MAC, get this:
    http://www.ecamm.com/mac/printopia/
    PC, get this:

  • How can I print from my windows 8 pc to my printer using my 2nd g express?

I have an hp deskjet 1055. It's just a USB printer how can I print from windows to my printer connected to my 2gen airport express? If it only works with airprint printers than why is there belkin routers that can work with any printer?

Figured it out. To print wirelessly via airport express 2nd generation you have to do some things. Download the bonjour printer thing mentioned above and have the printer plugged in to the airport express. Then run the bonjour printer thing and select your connected printer and install. Where I went wrong was I tried to print from my hp printer (1). When you install a printer with bonjour to print wirelessly it installs the same printer (2) so it's like there's 2 different printers in word or whatever you use to print.  You have to select the one that says ready. Thanks for everyone's help
