Can iPod play WAV files

I have the All Music Converter and have converted some of my iPod music files to WAV. However, I can't get iTunes to accept the files. Can iPod play WAV files? Does anyone know how to get them to transfer into iTunes? Thank you.

Uncompressed WAV files are on the list of compatible formats, has there been any compression applied to the files you have converted?

  • Blackberry 8330 - can't play wav files - Red X and "unknown error occured"

I have a client that started having an issue with her blackberry after we moved to BES Express 5.02.  Her .wav file association on her computer was changed so she couldn't play .wav files on her PC.  Then she stated getting a red X on her phone when trying to listen to the Cisco unity voice mail messages that are attached to emails.
I was able to correct the issue on her PC by re-associating the .wav file with windows media player.   However on the blackberry, the .wav file still will not play.  Is there a file association section on a blackberry device?  If not what else might be the issue?   she is the only person having the issue.  I don't use a blackberry so i don't know the menu options very well.
    Thanks
    Steve.
    P.S.
Oh, The phone was factory reset before being added to the new BES, Service books and IT policy Applied correctly.   I could pull the phoen and reset it again but I don't know if that would correct the issue.

Hi - I am now having this same exact problem on my Mac laptop.   I have many Breaking Bad, etc TV shows that I purchased through itunes & have watched over the years & now all of those, as well as, any new shows I purchase will not play on my laptop.    Just same as above person -- a black screen that appears to be playing movie (the timer is actually playing)  but no video or sound.    Shows / Movies all work fine on my home computer.
On my laptop it keeps saying .. "Not authorized to play .... & then says  "Sign into Itunes.. "   - but I  do sign out & sign  back in & still nothing happens.   Very annoying and frustrating as I  can ususlly figure things out with perserverence and trial & error.

  • Can't play WAV file email link

We use a third party calling system for our business that records all calls and forwards any messages to our email as a link to a WAV file. If I try to click the link it launches Quicktime on my iPhone but gives me the "Cannot Play Movie" with "Movie could not be played" underneath the first error message.
Strangely, if I download the WAV file on my computer and email it to myself it plays just fine as an attachment on the iPhone, so I know it is not a WAV format issue.
The problem is that our drivers all have iPhones and don't have the means in the field to download the WAV file, they have to be able to launch it directly from the link.
Unfortunately our vendor doesn't have a method for sending the WAV as an attachment, only as a link.
    Any ideas on this?
    Thanks in advance.

We too have the same problem with Voicemail attachments from our phone system, they get delivered to our users Exchange 2003 mailboxes, but on the iPhone they won’t play. If we transfer the file manually or send them to an external (POP3) mailbox they work fine then on the iPhone!
I’ve noticed that the attachment size according to the iPhone is only a few bytes which is obviously wrong, so it looks like it’s not correctly reading the attachment properly when using Exchange (As it works with my home account OK).
Can anyone shed any light on this problem?
    Thanks

  • Can my muvo tx fm play WAV fil

my question is my problem and if it can what ccan i be doing wrong? plz im trying to get a song i really like but it wont show up on my mp3

well...i used to have an MuVo TX FM, and i know everything about it !! but now it's broken.
Anyway, it can play mp3, wma and wav files encoded only in a unique way !
but i don't think it can play wav files except in the recordings folder, but i don't really encourage that you play wav files in it !
you can convert wav to mp3 by any converter you get, or download, but for faster conversion use the creative mediasource, it's in any cd you get with any creative mp3 player !!!!
    tell me if it works.
    cheer to all !!!!

  • I want to but can't play WAVs and MP3s in the same folder, please he

    Hello,
I have a Zen Nano Plus. One of the reasons I got it was because it has a built in microphone. When you record with the mic it saves it as a WAV file, and puts it in the "recorded" file. I want to make a folder with both songs (mp3s) and bits of spoken word that I record in - so that when I play it I can select shuffle and it will randomly play either a song or a recorded part. (It's for a friend in a coma and we want to leave it playing her favourite songs as well as messages from her friends.) When I make a new folder it won't recognise WAVs only the MP3s, and when I put MP3s in the "recorded" file it won't recognise them, only the WAVs. The shuffle option will only shuffle between tracks in the same folder. I've called the help line and spent half an hour talking to them but nothing was solved. I realise that I can convert the WAV files into MP3 files (anyone recommend a good, free converter?) but would rather not have to do this. Also, if it is possible to play both in the same folder, can I also record through the mic directly into this folder? This would save me having to take it home whenever a new message is left to organise the tracks.
Any help given very much appreciated,
    Anil.

Firmware is the operating system of the player, written by Creative. Peebee is saying that it would require a fundamental change to this operating system, which would need to be reprogrammed by Creative. You can by all means request it as a wishlist item, by sending to support, but there's no guarantee it will be implemented.

  • How to Play .wav files in Safari?

    Hi:
    I need a little help.
I would like Safari to play wav files instead of downloading those file to my Downloads folder. Can this be done.
    Thanks,
    -AstraPoint

    Greetings,
I would like Safari to play wav files instead of downloading those file to my Downloads folder.
    Can this be done?
Maybe. First, what is the URL for a .wav file you're trying to play in Safari? I want to test this before I say whether or not it will work.

  • Error Playing .wav file on RHEL 4 using JMF

    Hi,
We are using jmf api to play wav files on our application deployed on rhel version 4. But we are receiving the following error
    **"Cannot find a Processor for: myfolder/myAudio.wav" --->
this exception is comming from javax.media.Manager
throw new NoProcessorException("Cannot find a Processor for: " + source);"**.
Any ideas what could be issue with this, am I missing some drivers/processor for wav files? I did a default jmf studio installation.
    Thanks and Regards

If we take a look at the supported formats page...
And the WAV file is supported by the cross-platform pack, AKA, jmf.jar.
If you're unable to open a WAV file, I'd say it's most likely because you don't have JMF.jar on your library path. You can fix that at runtime with the switch -djava.library.path=<whatever>
That's what I would say the issue is.

  • Pure Music software player is not working with iTunes 10.4 and Lion 10.7 playing wav. files.

Pure Music player from Channel D software will not work when playing wav. files after updating to Lion OS. I can open the application as usual but after playing one song it will not advance to the next track either on its own or manually. The scrolling track name goes dim and I cannot get the play button to respond. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks Limnos, but unfortunately the same error still remains.
The disk was OK.  Permissions had errors along the lines of groups should be 0, is 80.  I repaired that.  Tried again to open, then reinstalled (new download again), but again the same problem.
I checked permissions again and some of the 0-80 errors came again, but no clear reason from there I think
Was also a SUID warning on ARDAgent but I see online that doesn't appear to be something abnormal.
I tried reloading Lion but the installation came back with software appears to have been tampered with (I think the dmg file is gone as I couldn't find it).  I then went to email to report a problem so I could download again but of course that whole process doesn't work because itunes wont open.

if there is anything else I might be missing?

  • Itunes can't play the file because the original file can not be found

There is many things wrong with that message and I don't know why.
I had around 30 songs off an album on my computer
I put the album on Itunes
I edited them and then they played fine
I put them on my ipod and then deleted them off coz i wanted to put something else on
but i found out I had more space to put the other 30 songs I had from before back on so I went to the album
when I wanted to play a song it said "Itunes Can't play the file because the original file can not be found"
    1) The original file was on my computer, in the exact place where I left it last time when Itunes played it
    2) I did not change the file path name
    3) I did not change the folder path name
    4) The songs aren't corrupted
    5) They play fine on other programs
I deleted them all off and took them on again and they played fine but whey did they keep stuffing up before?

The "missing file" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then say no when asked to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. I can provide a step by step guide if you give me the two paths.
In some cases iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps and locate the lost track. It may then offer to attempt to automatically fix other broken links. Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.

  • I can't transfer WAV files to my zen mi

    i can't transfer WAV files to my micro.please help!i have .0.03 firmware

I'm not an expert on this, but to my knowledge there's a variety of (similar) "coding formats" that all fit under the "WAV" file format. Windows XP comes with the intelligence to play all/most of these. But perhaps the Micro only knows a (popular) subset?
That said, it may be interesting to find out the exact details of these WAV files. I _imagine_ there are tools around that analyze WAV files.

  • Can ipad play rmvb files?

    can ipad play rmvb files?

Here is a shot introduction about RMVB format:
RMVB files are famous for distributing Asian content, especially Chinese television episodes and movies. For this reason, they have become noticeably present on file sharing platforms such as BitTorrent, eDonkey and Gnutella. But it is not entirely popular, partly due to their incompatibility with other media players like iPhone, iPod, iPad, iTunes, QuickTime, iMovie, Android, Xbox 360, PS3, Apple TV and more. That is what more and more people are trying their best to seek a way to play RMVB on Mac and Windows.
From above, we know that iPad does not support RMVB files. To play RMVB files in iPad and above devices, even more, you'd better to convert RMVB to some more common formats like MP4.
Hope it will help you more or less.

  • Play wav file on PDA using JMF

    Hi all,
I need to play wav files on a PDA so I installed J9 on the PDA and downloaded either JMF crossplatform and JMF for windows (version jmf 2.1.1.e for both of them).
I included in the classpath the jmf.jar from JMF crossplatform and sound.jar from JMF for windows (the JMF crossplatform doesn't have the sound.jar and jmf.jar requires some classes contained in it).
When I run my testing application I have such an error:
Unable to handle format: LINEAR, 8000.0 Hz, 8-bit, Mono, Unsigned, 8000.0 frame rate, Framesize=8 bits
    Failed to prefetch: com.sun.media.PlaybackEngine@287a287a
    Error: Unable to prefetch com.sun.media.PlaybackEngine@287a287a
I have the same error playing wav files with different features (8 or 16KHz, 8 or 16 bits ).
    Can anyone help me?
Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks in advance!

Oh well lets toss pda's out of the window along with Microsoft's OS and use smart phone OS - or should I toss J2me and start on C# to be on the safe side???
    Has anyone an answer?

Yes, file is correct. Audacious plays it.

FWIW, I'm using pulseaudio and I've done nothing else besides installing esound from the AUR.
