CAN IT BE DONE??? Object to Follow Path in CS3??

I'm working with CS3 and came across this perdicument!
Does Anyone know how to get an object to follow a custom shape path?? Is this possible in CS3?
Thank you for your replies!

It sounds like you want to use Corel's Painter instead for this as it has a <br />special brush called an Image Hose which allows you to load an image or <br />images and sprays them along the brush path as you paint.<br /><br />http://apps.corel.com/painterix/training/tip_image_hose.html?trkid=tpc0705tip2<br /><br />If this is a one off job you can download a free trial.<br /><br /><br />"kimberlyrae" <[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]..<br />> I'm working with CS3 and came across this perdicument!<br />> Does Anyone know how to get an object to follow a custom shape path?? • Can you expand an enveloped object without expanding paths?

    Is there a way to expand an enveloped object without expanding the paths of the object? For example, if I use Envelope Distort>Make With Mesh to distort a group of objects. Can I expand the object after it has been distorted without having to expand the paths of the individual objects that make up the disorted group?

    I've attached some very simple example images to, hopefully, further clarify. The first image is a circle with a thick stroke applied. The second is the circle with distortion applied via a simple mesh. The third is the expanded distorted image. In the third image, the stroke has also been expanded to a filled shape.   The grouped objects that I'm dealing with were created with a Wacom tablet using a 6D brush, and I want to be able to expand the envelope without expanding the strokes into filled objects. While it's certainly possible to just delete the expanding strokes and then reapply the brush to each object, I have some illustrations that I'd like to distort that are made up of a considerable number of objects, so manually going through and deleting the filled expanded strokes and then reapply the brush to each shape would be somewhat time-consuming.

  • Migration error The operation can only be performed if the following objects are writable

    Hi Experts ,
    The operation can only be performed if the following objects are writable:The project is not in the repository, but there are some read-only files

    Regards
    Govardan

    Hi jun wu,
    Making it writable in windows works ,
    Actually my dc migrations is from nwds 7.01 to 7.3 ,
    in 7.01 it is NWDI , the dc is under a track so im migration the dc individually to 7.3 , i.e one by one instead of migrating the entire Track.
    After migration required dcs from 7.01 to 7.3 we are planning to move that to new track in 7.3 .
    will it have any impact when that dc is moved to new track ? is it right approach to make it wirtable throught windows.

  • Align objects to text paths?

    Hi all,
    I don't know if this is possible at all in Illustrator, but I want to align objects to text paths. Look at the following example to get an idea what I mean.
    I start with something like a circular hierarchy, that I get as an output from another program. These are only lines and text. Now I want to add a flag behind the text. This flag should have the same orientation as the text path.
    As this hierarchy is actually pretty big (this is only a snippet), I don't want to rotate all the flags manually. I tried to do it manually with the below example, but it still doesn't looks right...
    Does anyone know, if there is a proper method to rotate the flags according to the orientation of the text paths in Illustrator? Any help is much appreciated!

    I don't know of more automated way  than doing it manually. However you can make the rotation precise using the smart guides. Assuming the text is live (not outlines), this is how I would do it:
    Make sure on the View menu, there is a checkmark in front of Smart Guides (Ctrl+U)
    With a text object selected, pick the Rotate tool (R), find, and click the anchor point of the text object which will be at the left bottom side if the text is left aligned. The Smart Guides will show an "Anchor" label when the mouse cursor is over it.
    Then, away from the Anchor point, click and drag the path of the text object to rotate it until aligned horizontally or vertically to the artboard which will be indicated by the Smart Guides displaying a straight horizontal or vertical line.
    Hold Ctrl key down temporarily to switch to a selection tool and click with it the flag you want to rotate.
    Release the Ctrl key to get back to the Rotate tool and press the Enter key on your keyboard to get the Rotate dialog.
    Change the Angle value to positive if it is negative and negative if it is positive and press the OK button. On a pc you can do all of this step with three keyboard keys instead of the mouse if you press first the Home key, then Delete or Minus for changing the value to positive or negative, and finally press Enter to apply and close the dialog. The flag is now rotated with the same angle as the original orientation of the text.
    Cut (Ctrl + X) the flag, and Undo (Ctrl + z) a few times until you go back to the original orientation of the text.
    Paste (Ctrl + V) to get a copy of the rotated flag and position it in place. I can see that your skills with position the flags are much better than aligning the orientation and I don't think you need more complicated way of doing it.

    We can't re-import because the objects were imported first when the BIP server processes were started under root users. After the BIP server processes re-started with a non-root user, we can see all the objects imported previously under root due to file system permission. The re-import failed for the same file system permission issue.

  • I can't drag data objects to human task

    Hi,
    I am newbie using SOA, BPM and Jdeveloper.
    I am following a tutorial to learn how to create and implement a process, but I get stuck when I need to create the human tasks.
    When I create the human task, I can't drag data objects to the parameter table.
    I delete and begin the tutorial a several times. And the issue persist.
    I don't know if I miss a step, but I read and implement the tutorial carefully.
    Any advice or someone have a good tutorial for begginers in that Platform.
    Systems Specs:
    Oracle Databse 11g R2
    SOA 11.1.1.6.0
    Jdeveloper 11g 11.1.1.6.0
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jose,
    If you're doing this using the Building Your First Process with Oracle BPM 11g tutorial, I'd need more information.
    I doubt that this is the case, but just on the outside chance that it was the result of some procedural mistake you made, I created a short video that steps you through this.
    If you'll export your project and store it on some file sharing site that I can get to, I'll be glad to take a look at it for you.
    You haven't gotten to these steps in the tutorial, yet but after just looking at it I noticed a couple issues you I believe that you'll run into:
    The way it has you changing the role name from "Role" to "Requestor" will not work.  If you follow the instructions, you will not be able to create new instances (nothing will appear in the Applications link).  The reason is that there is a bug so that when you deploy the project after changing the name in Organization to another role, the deployed project keeps the original name (Role in this case) but your role assignment can only be set to the new name (Requestor).  Before you get to that step, make sure that you have added a new Requestor role in the process.
    The tutorial was written for 11.1.1.3 and if you're on a release after the 11.1.1.5 feature pack you will see that the data mapping is done completely differently.  Look at the video I have in the link above before doing this step.  While this step in the tutorial will be confusing, you can figure it out if you note the "Input" and "Output" tabs at the top of the Data Associations dialog.  You just need to drag the object on the left (e.g., "hello") over to the object on the right (e.g., "helloObject").
    Hope this helps,
    Dan

  • It can be done in C++, can it be done in Java?

    Hi
    In C++, the following code will change a to 2.
    int a = 1;
    int *b = &a;
        *b = 2;How can this be done in Java?
    My reason is that I implemented SortedSet so that it creates and maintains a binary tree (Assignment pre-requisite).
    If the subSet method is called, it returns a portion of the Tree!
    How can i get it to return this portion so that any changes which are made to this subSet are automatically reflected in the original Tree? (Just trying to be a geek and get extra brownie points)
    Thanx
    Tecknick

    public class MyInt {
    public int sss;
    public MyInt myInt = null; // only reference
    public MyInt( ){
    } // default constructor
    } // class MyInt ends here..
    // here now..
    public MyInt a = new MyInt( );
    a.myInt = a; // very Clever
    a.sss = 1; // Your ---------------> int a = 1;
    public MyInt b = a.myInt; // your
    ------------------> *b = &a;
    b.sss = 2; // Your -----------------> *b = 2;
    What is the point of the member field myInt here? The example code gives the effect of just using MyInt myInt = this; and not setting the value in the client code. Why would you ever need to explicitely give an object a reference to itself? You would get exactly the same results (and clearer code) if it wasn't present:
    public class MyInt {
      public int value;
      public MyInt(int value) {
        this.value = value;
      public static void main(String[] argv) {
        MyInt a = new MyInt(1);
        a.value = 1;
        MyInt b = a;
        b.value = 2; //Since a == b, a.value is now equal to 2 as well.
    }Notice that this is now the same idea as was posted by rabbit3000 earlier - it just doesn't use accessor methods (up to you if you decide you want to) - all it is, is a mutable version ot java.lang.Integer. I couldn't see a good reason for a default constructor, so I took that out too.

  • How to transform a layer object and a path at the same time?

    Hi all,
    I know I am going to kick myself when you tell me the answer to this!
    I would really like to know if there is any way I can manage to to transform both a layer object and a path at the same time....or if there is any workaround to achieve this.
    In a nutshell, say for example I spend a VERY long time creating an intricate path around a very detailed object, and then at the very end notice just how crooked and out of perspective it is, and would like to straighten it.
    Of course I could transform and correct the object, and then carefully transform the path - but it just won't be exact, and I will have to spend a long time adjusting the path and making SURE it is perfect.
    Isn't there any way I could get to transform them together?
    Usually of course I do all the correction to straighten and correct perspective beforehand, but in some instances after I am done creating the path I then notice that the image could have used further adjustments.
    I appreciate so very much any advice you may have:)
    Thank you kindly,
    Christine

    Okay...I found another way as well... suddenly it all started coming to me in the last few minutes:)
    Once the image is on it's own layer, then we can select the path and then make a vector mask by going to "Layer>Vector Mask>Current Path". Once the vector mask is created, simply click on the image icon on it's layer, then transform away to your heart's content, and the path is transformed along with it. Once finished, the path for the vector mask can be saved as usual. (Don't click on the vector mask icon when transforming the image, otherwise only the path will be transformed.)

  • Can not cast from object to int

    Hi All,
    I have the following bunch of code
    Session session;
              session = getSessionFactory().openSession();
              Query query;
              int MaxPageId = 0;
              List list;
              try{
                   query = session.createQuery("select max(emp.id) from EmpBean emp");
                   list = query.list();
                   MaxPageId = (int) list.get(0);
                   return MaxPageId;
              catch(Exception e){
                   System.out.println(e.getMessage());
              return MaxPageId;
    The query executed successfully but when i get the max id in a integer variable by the following statement
    MaxPageId = (int) list.get(0);
    I get the following error "can not cast from object to int"
    Please suggest for the same.
    -Thanks

    Cast to an Integer, not an int, and let autoboxing turn the Integer into an int.
    int maxPageId;
    maxPageId = (Integer) list.get(0);You can't cast objects into primitives.
    Autoboxing isn't casting.
    And use Java naming conventions. Local variables start with a lower-case letter.

    How do I set up two separate iTunes accounts on one MacBook Pro in order to manage the wife's iPhone and my iPhone (with separate info on each of course) ? Can this be done? A little step by step would be greatly appreciated; just short step by step though, I can follow fairly well.
    Kindest Regards,

    You would each need to use your own user account on the Mac, you can do this at system preferences > users & groups.

  • How can you move the objects from one server to another?

    how can you move the objects from one server to another?

    Hi,
    Collecting objects for Transporting
    1. rsa1->transport connection
    2. left panel choose 'object type', middle panel choose 'infocube' and 'select objects'
    3. then choose your infocube and 'transfer'
    4. will go to right panel, choose collection mode 'manual' and grouping only 'necessary objects'
    5. after objects collection finished, create request
    6. If they are $TMP, then change the package.
    7. When you click the Save on the change package, it will prompt for transport. Here you can provide an existing open transport request number, or if you like here itself you can create a new one.
    8. You can check the request in SE09 to confirm.
    Releasing Transport Request
    Lets say you are transporting from BWD to BWQ
    Step 1: In BWD go to TCode SE10
    Step 2: Find the request and release it (Truck Icon or option can be found by right click on request #)
    Note: First release the child request and then the parent request
    Steps below are to import transport (generally done by basis )
    Step 1: In BWQ go to Tcode STMS
    Step 2: Click on Import queue button
    Step 3: Double Click on the line which says BWQ (or the system into which transport has to be imported)
    Step 4: Click on refresh button
    Step 5: High light the trasnport request and import it (using the truck icon)

    I have tried and failed to copy my iTunes library and playlists from my Windows 8 desktop to my Windows 7 laptop using an external hard drive. Can it be done? Help would be appreciated. I have followed instructions found online but the library of music doesn't pull in.  Thanks!
    Nate

    Migrate an iTunes library from one computer to another
    These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
    Backup the library with this User Tip.
    Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
    Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
    Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
    Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entireiTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
    Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one, with ratings, play counts, playlists etc. preserved. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
    I'd normally recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library and unlike copying with Windows Explorer the process can be resumed if it is interrupted and it will continue to the next item if there are any read/access errors.
    Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
    If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See Make a split library portable.
    Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then seeRecover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • Scoring one of three button clicks on a single screen - can it be done

    I have captured an Assessment simulation (in Captivate 5). On one screen there are three legitimate places a person can click to move to the next screen - any of them would be correct.
    At the moment, each is being tracked for a point on the Quiz, but only one of them is needed. Which means people are getting 18/20, when really it should be 18/18.
    I can't believe this cannot be done in Captivate, since there must be many systems, where more than one choice can be the correct one.
    I saw a previous thread, which indicated that this cannot be done in Captivate, but I wanted to check again and see if there is some kind of solution to this.
    Thanks
    Helen

    You are correct that this cannot be done with standard Captivate functionality but it can now be done using the Interactive Master Widget.
    What you do is turn off reporting for each of the clickboxes or buttons that would currently be correct (so that they do not report to the quiz) and then add each of these objects to the Master widget as Slave Objects.  The Master Widget is set up to report its own success and score to the quiz when it detects ANY of the other interactive objects have been clicked.
    This means that no matter which of the correct objects the user clicks, they get the same score reported to the quiz and no penalty for not clicking either of the other two correct options.
    You can download a trial version of Interactive Master Widget here.
    You can purchase the widget either as a single widget or as part of a discounted combo pack with other widgets here.
