Can it be possible to disable outlook anywhere for some few users who are working from home ?

One of my customer wants to disable outlook anywhere for some of the users who are working from home.They have exchange server 2013 in their premises and also have outlook 2010/2013 on their clients machine.Please advice?

In Exchange 2013, all Outlook connectivity (Internal and External) are using Outlook Anywhere anyways. It is not recommended to use the following command to disable Outlook Anywhere for a specific user:
Set-CASMailbox UserA -MAPIBlockOutlookRpcHttp $True
If you disable it, the UserA would not be able to access the mailbox from both Internal Outlook client (Office) and external Outlook client (Home).
For your requirement about disable Outlook anywhere for some few users instead of all external users, there seems to be no method to achieve it directly in Exchange server. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Firstly, I'm afraid that we cannot disable Outlook Anywhere for certain users only when they use OA externally. And if the property MAPIBLOCKOutlookRpcHttp of a user is set to true, the user cannot access Exchange server both internally and externally.

The initial idea is to prevent user from access to company Exchange server from ANYWHERE, we just want to open the Outlook Anywhere for the authorized user only. Looks like Microsoft did not think about the security.

I don't understand your request. If you disabled Outlook Anywhere, Outlook will only be able to connect via IMAP or POP3.
If you want to disable this ability and allow some then perhaps use cas-mailbox to disable in bulk and then enable only those allowed:

The default value is $false.

Is there a way to white-list a range of IP Addresses (potentially through IIS since Outlook Anywhere uses HTTPS)? Would setting the External URL to null for Outlook Anywhere prohibit autodiscover from configuring the Outlook client, or would it do nothing
at all since the internal DNS name is the same as the external?
I could potentially add an internal SSL certificate and change the internal DNS name of Outlook Anywhere. Is this a good move?

The only way within Exchange is to set the internal Outlook Anywhere host name to something not resolvable externally and/or null out the external hostname or set to something bogus.

Is it possible to disable - Outlook Calendar Email Notifications?

Hi all, hope you are well.
I have recently had a query from a PA to an MD where she makes a change to an appointment in his calendar even a simple edit, he obviously receives notification of this change. I have looked pretty much all over and am not familiar with such a function but
is anyone aware if it possible to disable this function as that is what they are asking for to happen.
So she manages his calendar and when she makes changes he receives the email notification, the question is simply is anyone aware of a way to disable this function? I'm of the opinion that if there is it will be a global rather than explicit function.
The other option I thought was to setup a rule in Outlook to delete such notifications I guess?
EXCHANGE 2010 AND OUTLOOK 2010 are in play here
Any help greatly appreciated.

As per the information and details provided by you, to disable Outlook calendar, email notification, please follow these steps: -
Step 1: - Open the
Outlook Options menu (File-Options).
Step 2: - Click the
“Mail” tab.
Step 3: - Adjust your notification settings under the
Message arrival section. You may disable all notifications, or pick and choose from the available settings.
Step 4: -
Desktop Alert Settings allow you to adjust the timing and transparency of the pop-up alert.
Step 5: - Click
OK when complete.

I have a disability , can i work from home as an entry level programmer

i get anxiety , bad, in office settings, is it possible for me to work at home once i graduate school as a java programmer? i won't be able to work in an office i get claustrophobic. derek

The issue isn't whether a person can get work done at home (no problem), the real issue is whether a company will hire a new guy right out of college with no work experience to work at home. It seems really unlikely to me; most companies want you to at least start out at the office so you can learn their codebase and procedures around other, experienced co-workers.
One approach would be to develop a specialized and deep skill set. If you were one of the few programmers who really knew how to handle a particular problem, you might be able to get a job as a consultant. Actually I've seen that a lot; you come into the office once a month for meetings and the rest of the time you work remotely. The tricky part is just getting to that position right out of college.
Another thing you can do is try to get an office job, but select a job with an office you don't find so bad. A lot of offices are designed as just one huge room with a lot of desks (no cubicles). If a company likes you, they might have no trouble making special seating arrangements, or letting you work outside or something.
You might also be able to get pick-up work as a programmer and work from home. Again though you'd need to have a proven skill-set to start out with.
What's your graduate work about? Maybe you can use that.

Mozilla just updated to Firefox 4 and disabled my F5 access. I can no longer work from home!

I'm trying to connect to my work network from home, but Firefox automatically updated to Firefox 4 on my home computer and disabled my F5 software which was what I was using to remotely login to my work computer. F5 Networks VPN client is standard stuff issued by my Federal Government job to allow me to work from home.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

Here's what I'd do.
1) create a Security Group in your AD environment. Call it 'Folder Redirection Members' or something like that. Put all the user accounts in your AD environment who you want to have their folders continue to be redirected to the server, do not include the
one user who you wish to exclude. in other words, you're going to use a specific security group to target the Folder Redirection policy (right now, it's Domain Users, which is everyone).
2) Edit the Group Policy that the W7PP created in your AD environment. It's likely called "W7PVP Folder Redirection". Start with verification under the Settings tab, expand Folder Redirection beneath User Configuration states that
Policy Removal Behaviouris set to Restore Contents. Then proceed using the Editor, to make adjustments under the Scope tab; verify membership in Security Filtering. Remove Domain Users,
add in Folder Redirection Members (or whatever you named your group in step 1).
3) on your workstation that your user you are applying the change to disable folder redirection, Log on to the domain account while connected to your network, elevate a command prompt, and perform a 'gpupdate /force' command and then reboot your computer.
Folder redirection configuration should be removed from the system and redirected contents should be restored back to your local path. Verify with inspection of the My Documents or other folders.

Override/disable a monitor for some machines

I want to override an alert SCOM is generating. The alert is "
Static MAC Address is Invalid"
Right clicking the alert displays an item in the context menu called "View or edit the settings of this monitor". What I'd like to do is disable this monitor for some computers. What would be the best way to do this?

Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing. It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone, but when you connect it to iTunes, iTunes only shows you one copy of the song on your iPhone.
In this situation, I recommend deleting the individual songs that do not play directly from your iPhone. I found the steps to do this on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.

How can I share the work iTunes with my home iTunes so I can work from home? Need to be able to share playlists and files for editing tracks.

I've just started working for a media company that provides the music for sporting events. They use iTunes to create playlists that I have to load into an IR machine with hot keys. I also have to edit tracks to create new stings and intros. As there is a 2.5 hour commute, I want to access the work iTunes library from my home MBP so I can work from home. When I'm at work I can share the work iTunes library, but when I'm back home I can't use it. Any ideas of how I could effectively Home Share over the internet with two seperate iTunes accounts?
The work iMac is running 10.7.5 and my MBP is 10.8.4

In that case, does anybody know of a program or workaround that will make this so?
