Can it harm my ipod touch in any way or the files on it if it was connected to the computer while updating to a new version of itunes?

Also, I tried asking support before I tried this forum and I think I asked it under the wrong category (troubleshooting and not using ipod with itunes) and they had me run an ios diagnostic test, if I'm not having trouble with my ipod and I ran it can that harm the ipod or affect it in any way?

I'm not having any problem that I can see, I was just curious as to if it can harm my ipod or any files on it if I have it connected to my computer while I'm updating to a new version of itunes. It ejected a few times and then again when I had to restart my computer. It seems to be working fine I was just wondering if it can affect affect the ipod at all if I have it connected while updating to a new version of itunes.
And also if running ios diagnostics from support can do anything if I wasn't having trouble. I wasn't able to talk to anyone because I'm out of warranty for tech support for that device.

Look under your Start Menu for Apple Software Update, but before doing that, check the time and date on your computer that it's correct.
It's also saying the iTunes Library .XML file in your iTunes Folder file is new, for some reason, but your songs should be still in the iTunes Folder.
You can move the XML file out and restart iTunes and it shoudl creat another, you lose your playlists and have to import all your music again.

i can take pictures off my phone but thats it, i have some nice programs for pictures and art work and cant get them back on my phone to send them to friends and family. I was installing and I'm not sure why but the lights on my caps lock flashed without me touching it. Can that harm my Ipod? If installing a new program affected the usb drive can that harm my Ipod while it's connected?

It should be OK as long as you are not syncing or doing data transfer via US like backing up or restoring

IPhoto import from iPod Touch disappeared, any way to recover?

I imported photos from our 5 gen iPod Touch into iPhoto, and, as it was getting pretty full, selected the delete photos after import option. iPhoto crashed during the delete. We reopened it and there are no photos imported, but iPhoto did manage to delete about half of our iPod's photos before crashing. I would hope that iPhoto wouldn't be deleting photos off my iPod until it had actually imported the files...but they are no where to be found. Any ideas?
My OS is Mavericks, and we have iPhoto '09, version 8.1.2. I've tried rebuilding the iPhoto library, but it makes no difference.

Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Insert/remove the the headphone plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem.:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem. Could be a bad headphone jack.

Is there any way to make files created from xml plugin (Incat) to ignore the plugin

I originally created my catalog files using CatalogStudio database which then created the files via xml. We had so many files become corrupt in the CatalogStudio database that we decided to quit using it and just create our files directly into Indesign. Unfortunately when we reset our system to operate on the original settings we deleted the old CatalogStudio software. Now when we open the Indesign files they look for the Incat plugin. We can still open them but now functions such as page numbering won't work. Does anyone know a way of getting around this problem?

I tried to mark your answer as correct because it worked. I hesitated to contact the company which had set up the xml application because we had ended our relationship but I, on your advice, I did anyway. They were very nice, sent me the plugins with instructions how to install and it fixed everything. Unfortunately, when I tried to mark your answer no selections were available to me.

HT2693 Does anybody have any idea why my PC says it is unable to unistall/ replace an older version of Bonjour when I try to update to a newer version of itunes?

I'm guessing it has to do w/ a software issue on this old pc of mine, but it is so frustrating that I no long update anything or access anything, not to mention that my iphone has been updated and can no longer talk to the computer.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Sorry but I am pretty sure there isn't a shop which offers such a service.
Apple stores offer a 14 day remorse period where you can return a purchase for a full refund without having to give a reason however this has probably expired - unless you bought from a different store with a similar system which you still happen to be within the time limit for.
Your best bet would be to sell your iPod 3G and put the money towards a new one. If you are having trouble selling it an Apple store will take it and give you 10% off a new iPod.
