Can iTunes hide just one movie or video?

Hello,
If you are a family that shares a single computer then there are times when you would like to purchase a movie or TV show to keep in your iTunes library, but not allow younger members of the family to play or even see the title. I don't want to hide the entire movie category because the kids have movies in there, but I don't want them to have access to movies that are R rated. Any ideas on how to hide a single movie or two without locking the entire movies section?

Apple has already thought of a solution to your comment. They have a section under preferences called Parental control.
Parental controls is for downloading (its a store preference). It has nothing to do with the library and is intended to be use in tandium with multiple accounts so that multiple accounts can share one 1TMS account or A parent can create a second more restricted account for a child.
I don't think iTunes was designed to work in a media center configuration the way you have it.
Bottom line, Having multiple accounts is the way to do what you want.

That should be possible.
From his library connect to your library via Home Sharing.
Select the name of the shared library in the source pane of your itunes, and click on the wee disclosure triangle to the left of the name of the library. Does "Films" appear beneath the name of the library?
Here's a screenshot of what I mean.
Select "Films". In the right-hand pane you should see the item you want to transfer. Just select that item, and click "Import".
Use the same basic technique to get one or a few songs from your library transferred to his library. (The only difference is that you would have "Music" selected instead of "Films".
If you don't want him to have access to other items in your library, you could just switch Home Sharing off on his library after you've done the transfers.

Take heart. We can help.
First turn on page view so you can see how the content of your sheet fits on the page(s). A Numbers document contains sheets (listed on the left) which in turn contain tables, charts, text, and graphics. Select the sheet you want to print on the left, then enable page view by selecting the menu item:
"View > Show Print View":
Now you should see your content and how it fits on one, or more, pages. If thie content is too big for one page use the controls and the bottom left of the window to expose the sheet controls:

How can I publish just one page at a time?

I switched to a new computer, so I moved the domain file. When I open iWeb, all the pages are there. I made one small change, and only want to update the one page, but since it's on a new computer, all the pages are red and I can't publish just one page - every time I try, iWeb tries to publish all the pages, and it errors out every time. Can anyone tell me how to make it publish just one page at time in spite of the fact that all the pages in the sidebar are red? The only reason I can think for the error message is that there's too much content to do it all at once.

Yes. If you are uploading to a server and not MobileMe, then just select the option publish to a local folder.
When you have done this, then use Cyberduck or Transmit and upload just the one page from your site folder to your server, plus it's resultant file. So if you just want to upload a Welcome page for example, use Cyberduck to upload just the Welcome.html page and the Welcome files to your server and into your root folder on your server, which would be either a public_html folder, a www or htdocs folder.

Only if you copy and past it into the email (and of course it would no longer be a spreadsheet, just text). You can only send files as an attachment not portions of files. you could copy the contents oif the tab into a new file and save it.

I want a particular site to be open to one and all. But I want to lock just one page on that site -- which would require a user name and password. My attempts so far end up locking the entire site.

if you search this forum for "password one page" you will find some previous posts.
There is one that mentions creating a second one page site and passwording it with a hyperlink in the first site. Might be the way to go. I don't believe you can currently password just one page.

How can I get just one menu?

Hi,
I hope there is a way to have just one menu, the main menu, and to have two buttons on it: one for one chapter, one for the other, not one for playing the whole movie, one for playing individual chapters. Is there a way to do that? Is there a (simple, straightforward, no frills, non-garish, NO MOTION) theme that has that setup or that can be adapter for that use?
(I currently use Brush Strokes and I have to kill the motion every **-***** time, yet varying amounts of motion ALWAYS appear until I slide the motion duration slider all the way to the right (max) and then back all the way to the left (min/0). (Yes, I have saved a version of that theme with no **** motion but it still appears despite that.) I DO NOT WANT ANY MOTION or sound effects if I am going to use any other theme than Brush Strokes. I can kill the motion and sound but I don't want one that has a garish look or has lots of motion initially.)
Is there a way to use the map to eliminate the second-level menu or makeit the main menu? And if there is, would I be able to add/change the main menu buttons to that they start each chapter, not play the whole movie or play individual chapters?

Not so interested in bad language. Struggling to get my own understandable.
To do what I guess You want, only way I can think of is:
- Make each chapter as a stand alone movie
∆ This by: selecting clips in iMovie that belongs to Chapter one
- Export as Full quality QT.mov BUT - remember to mark - selected clips only
- Now select the rest (or Chapter two) and export this
Now You just drop Your Chapter one and two into a new open iDVD theme
window.
To make iDVD to handle both a full movie and specific Chapters alone has
not been implemented in an easy way - but has to be a double material
project. Which is not so economical. Only alternative in my mind is
DVD-Studio Pro - and this hurts even more "economicaly"

How can I transfer JUST ONE IWeb site to another computer?

I am new to making IWeb sites and am now making them for
other people. I have about 10 sites in my IWeb folder and need to
be able to give a person's site to them.
I need to be able to transfer JUST ONE site to another computer.
Right now, I am only able to transfer ALL the sites I have made to
another mac and then, it wipes out all their sites! How can I prevent
the ultimate wipe out of all their iweb sites yet give them JUST ONE
of mine?

First, read Wyodor's post about changing the publishing settings HERE.
You can create the extra folders in Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb or, as I do, in a folder named iWeb in the Home folder.
Create a folder for each website, give it a suitable name and paste the Domain.sites2 file with all the websites into each.
Open each one in turn, double click the Domain.sites2 file to launch it in iWeb, delete all the sites except the one whose name is the same as the folder name, save and quit.
Now you can launch any site individually in iWeb and sent a copy of the appropriate folder to the client.

Can't hear just one person through my iPhone 4

Okay, so lets see if this works. So I've had my iphone 4 for about a year and a half, I've never really had issues beside the normal glitching and having calls drop here and there. Recently I've had an issue with my iphone connecting with just one individual. Yes, I know it sounds weird but keep reading. I have been able to make calls and recieve phone calls fine, however I cannot with just one single individual. They to also only have the same problem with me, however the only difference is they can hear me but I cant hear them or anything. We're able to text and send picture messages without any issues.
Now sometimes when I try to call them, itll ring twice and then the line just goes dead, but thats usually them picking it up. I cannnot hear them at all. I've already done the reset on my phone and I've already contacted apple about this issue and their about as lost as I am because it doesnt make sense that this is only happening with one individual. I've also blew out the speakers and such like people have suggested. I use my head phones that came with my speaker, and ive connected and reconnected them incase my iphone thought they were plugged in.
Let me give you a little bit more info. They have an android phone, we have the same carrier which is verizon and they live in another state (not sure if thats helpful). I'm completely lost because this has been going on for about 4 days now and its driving me crazy. This happened a few weeks ago, however it magically fixed its self ( im thinking it was because I had bad service). If anyone has any solutions that might help, please, please let me know.

The whole issue is that I cannot hear this person, but I can hear everyone else.
That proves that the problem is either in the other party's phone or his carrier. If you can hear everyone else, your phone is OK.

I can't delete just one symbol in Pages

When I place a marker on the right of a symbol I want to delete and then press Delete an entire word is being deleted. Also when I want to mark just one or several symbols an entire word is being marked as well. I'm using the template "Storyboards". I feel it's going to occupy a big portion of my time trying to figure out on my own how to make this to act as I want it to, so I'd be grateful if you told how to delete characters one by one.

It might be worth checking the User Guide section on Placeholder Text which begins:
Using Placeholder Text
Templates contain placeholder text, which shows you what text will look like and where it will be placed in the finished document. Most placeholder text appears in Latin (for example, lorem ipsum) in the document body, text boxes, headers, and elsewhere. Other predefined text, such as the title of a newsletter, appears in the language you’re using.
You click to select the placeholder text and then type your own text to replace it. The text you type keeps the same style and formatting as the placeholder text. If you don’t want to use the style and size of fonts the placeholder text uses, you can change the selected text by clicking the font family and font size controls in the format bar.

Can I Activate just one CS4 program alongside my CS6 programs?

I have my CS4 Design Premium currently installed on my old Macbook and my mom's iMac (for when I go home to visit my parents), and CS6 Design Standard on my new iMac, and am planning to put the other license for my CS6 onto the replacement Macbook I will be buying this week. I'd like to know whether I can uninstall/deactivate JUST Flash Professional from my mom's computer and my old laptop so I can install JUST that program on my own iMac and new Macbook. I don't want the other CS4 programs on my new computers, but I'd like to keep the InDesign and Illustrator from CS4 on my mom's computer and my old laptop for times when I'm just messing around and don't have my good computers with me. Is this possible, or do I have to deactivate the entire CS4 from one of those computers to activate Flash Professional on one of my new computers? If I DO have to do it as a package, is there any way of doing this so it doesn't mess up or overwrite (or something) my CS6 programs? Thanks!

Suites are suites. while you can selectively install apps, you cannot selectively activate/ deactivate them. What you are trying to do would be a third activation and that's simply not possible. You need to make up your mind on which machines you actually want to use your software within the two activations limit as stipulated in the EULA.

Before you restore an application from a Time Machine backup it would be wiser to remove the current installed copy then reinstall from the application's original distribution medium - download, CD/DVD, etc. The reason for this is that Time Machine backs up every hour. By now the bad version of this application is now backed up to your Time Machine backup drive. Restoring from the backup won't resolve your problem.
First, uninstall the old program. If the program came with an uninstaller then use it. If not then start by deleting the application from the Applications folder. Then locate all the support files associated with the application and remove them, too. Look for these in:
/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences
/Users/yourusername/Library/Applications Support
Applications may come with a separate uninstaller program that could also be in your Applications folder. Some applications may install other files in other locations on your computer. If you tell us what the application is we may be able to provide additional help.

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/wesites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by removing them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing.
