The problem is with the obtuse error message put out by Windows's program loader. It reads, in part, "..is not a valid Win32 application." The application runs everywhere except on Windows XP. Looking for root cause of the problem. It's a very
simple application. Only a few lines of code.
C:\Packaged-Software\32-BIT\Reboot.exe is not a valid Win32 application.
Proposed nature of the problem:
1. The file was downloaded from a website but the download was incomplete.
2. The full file system filename path contains bad characters such blank space.
3. Visual Studio constructed an application that won't run anywhere much less on XP.
4. The supporting libraries are not properly installed (e.g. .NET Framework4, and VCREDIST).
Retorts:
1. The file wasn't downloaded from a website and is intact.
2. The filename path doesn't contain any spaces.
3. The application runs under Windows 8.1. Also on Windows 7.
4. The supporting libraries are properly installed.
So, what's the problem? One surely will not discover the root cause from "not a valid application."
Body must be 4 to 60000 characters long. I had put the code here. It isn't 60000 character long. But it validated as if there are more than 60000 characters. Sorry for the incomplete submission due to website construction error.

How did you develop the application ?
Here is a similar symptom and this may explain the issue somehow:

I suspect there is a compatibility issue here .
Considering this is more likely a developing issue .It is recommended to ask for help from our MSDN Forum .They are more familiar with the developing issue .If it is possible ,please attach the code in that thread .Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

You are correct with your history. It is the dropping of Rosetta which is causing Lion to no longer support PowerPC code. This is one of the major compatibilty problems of Lion. There are also other changes in Lion which will cause applications that would seem to be compatable to not run. In those case you need newere verion of the applications to run with Lion.

Performance of J2ee Application running in Portal Server

Hi,
We have developed the J2ee Application using JSPDynPage and the performance of this Application is going down day by day.
It is taking arround 30 sec to load the page.Sometimes I am getting iView Timed out error if the Load is Very high.
This is all happening in Production server.Can any one please help me to increase the Performance of the Portal.

Have you checked your Garbage Collector log file ?
I posted some hints about how to do that in the thread "Server Performance Issue" in this forum.
I could be that you are running out of memory after the heavy load and then everything will be slow afterwards, because full GC's might be triggered frequently.

Hi,
if you use standard APIs (from MIDP 1.0, 1.0a or 2.0 specs) and run your application on device supporting this set of APIs you'll have no problem. For creating J2ME appliaction you should get J2ME Wireless Toolkit in the first place. Furthermore some IDE can be used (Sun ONE Studio, netBeans, Eclipse, JBuilder).

Oracle 9i is desupported.
To the best of my knowledge Oracle 10g is also not supported on Windows 2008.
Go ahead and try installing if it works its great. Of course I will not recommend it for official use.

Not sure what you are getting at. Are you asking if the SGMP gateway can execute/host J2ME apps? I don't think that applies, since the gateway runs in a Java EE application server that runs on J2SE. The purpose of SGMP is to enable J2ME-based client applications running on mobile devices to synchronize with various backends.

I'm doing a Embedded system based on Windows XP Embedded operating system.I want to make a LabVIEW applications which can run on it.I see a lot of paper that show the LabVIEW does not support Windows XP Embedded.I want to know whether the official has already solved this problem?Or someone has done the same thing successful?

Who is the official? NI? If it isn't supported, NI is unlikely to be trying to solve the issue as we are a bit beyond XP. You'd need to find unsupported methods to hack it a bit. I'm not sure you'll enjoy this process

Apart from the installation webgate and protection of the resource through OAM policies, you also need to modify your Java based application.
As a part of integration what OAM do is, it weill pass the user information(eg user id etc) to the Java application as the header variables. And now you have to modify this application so that it will accept the user information send by OAM, also login page if any of the application is disabled.
Also if you are going for cookie based approach, your landing jsp of java application should be capable of reading and validating obssocookie set by OAM.

I am writing a Java desktop application that retrieves a string from a text field, and then uses the string to launch firefox with the google URL containing that search string. The way I start firefox from within the application is that I hard-code the path as follows:
private String firefoxPath = "C:\\Program Files\\Mozilla Firefox\\firefox ";
This is unreliable of course since the above path is only a default installation. Is there a way that I can dynamically determine the path of firefox (or any other installed application in fact) from within a running Java program?

Calling a Web Service from J2EE application running on WebSphere

This may have been answered before, but could not find using multiple searches that I did on this forum.
We are just in the process of using the newly installed SAP WAS 6.40 with J2EE engine and I understand from SAP's documentation that all BAPIs and remotely callable RFCs should be invokable via a Web Service call from remote applications. Couple of questions on this:
1. Is there a documentaion that describes steps to enable BAPIs or RFCs as web services?
2. Is there a documentation that describes steps to invoke a web service that in turn uses BAPI or RFC (code sample).
We are J2EE literates but not familiar with SAP WAS, and not sure if calling/invoking the WS would be similar to calling any other WS from other WS Containers.
Appreciate a response or suggestions.

Invoking WS is similar to calling any other WS from other containers. Either you have to give the WSDL file location or the external UDDI Server address in WebService creation wizard.

Have you tried using the HP Scan and Capture app that you can download from the Windows 8 store? This will give you the option of muti page scan and saving as pdf.
