Can Java convert text in to three dimensional forms?

Hi,
I'm an MA student at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. I'm currently working on a project to convert text, entered onscreen by users, into three dimensional forms when initiated by clicking on a button. Each 3D form is to be unique to the text entered. Does anyone know how best to do this and whether Java is the best tool for this? Any help or ideas that can be offered will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you for your help, the link is a great starting point in the development of my project, but its not the "nail on the head", which is my fault. On reading back my last posts it seems I omitted a key word (sorry, my mistake) in the description of what I want to do, which is: "…can Java convert text into abstract three dimensional forms?" By abstract three dimensional forms I was hoping to create something along the lines of what is possible with Rhinoscript, here is an example of the type of visual I want to be able create from the transformation of user entered text using computer code: http://www.theverymany.net/uploaded_images/080108_Srf_Test001_01_k_TVM-718625.jpg. I hope this sheds some light on the direction I'm hoping to take, so if you or anyone else can offer any more help or pointers I will be eternally grateful.
Thanks

    can i convert test file into a bmp (bitmap)file?please tell me if anybody knows.

    You're converting a test file (text file?) into a Windows bitmap?
    I don't know exactly what that means, but the following links are resources for reading from and writing to a bitmap file in Java, respectively. They may give you an idea on what the bitmap is expecting.

  • How can i convert the HTML information in XML form to a PDF?

    Hi does any body know how can i convert the content of an HTML field in a XML Form in a regular text to include in a PDF in a Java program?

    Hi ,
    On the tool bar you have an option "Browser" which is next to "HTML Editor" .
    You know that for using these elements wo have to map them with Data Schema.
    Step by step
    1. In data Model Under Data Schema Add a child and name it Read_More.
    2. In the left hand corner ,click on tab Type and from the drop down select "rid"
    3.Click on the "Browser" from the toolbar (as told earlier) and drag and drop it on the form.
    4. Drag the Data schema which u have made(Read_more) and drop it on the browser on form. On right hand side u will se the mapping done.
    5.Click on the "Browser" which is there in the form and on the right hand side of the form u will see the property window.
    6.In property window change the value of action property to "Item Entry point"
    7. Repeat step 3 and 4 in Render and show form but using "label" nad not browser.
    Do not forget to add Save button in Edit Form.
    This will solve your problem.

  • How can I convert text to pdf without the pathname showing in new doc?

    Hi,
    I had this worked out in v.7 but now in v.8 it seems to be different and/or I just plain forgot how to do it.
    I want to not see the path name anywhere in the document when I make a new pdf document from a text file. It seems to do it by default.
    But there is no way to remove as a header or footer since it doesn't see it as such. So I can't look up how to do it in the help menu because I don't know what that added line is called if not a header.
    Please help. I don't want to have to keep going back to my v.7 Acrobat.
    Thanks.

    Go to Create PDF From Web Page. Change the settings to remove headers
    and footers and it will (somewhat surprisingly) affect TXT conversion.

  • How to convert text module language in Smart Form?

    Hello Friends,
    I want to print a title in chinese language in smartform. How can I do it. Please help me out from this situation?.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sathish Kumar

    Normally when we display stard text , we will be either using "read text" function module or will be using include.To display a strd text in chinese it should be maintained in chinese language (SO10-please see whether Std text is maintained in chinese by giving TEXT name, TEXT ID and Language).and when we use "read text" or "include " we will specify the language also in that.
    or u can include the standard text with INCLUDE statement and LANGUAGE <> ..
    ( LANGUAGE is one of the patameters of the include stmt.)
    then the text will get printed in chinese language if it is maintained in chinese language
    reward if it helps u...

  • Can I convert a document to a FILLABLE Form?

    I recently purchased the Adobe ExportPDF and want to know if I can create a fillable form (application) from a document that we now have to fill out manually.

    Preview will open a .doc/.docx file directly. You can then export it as a PDF.
    LibreOffice v4.0.1.2 (latest) can open .doc/.docx and MS Publisher documents. It too has an export to PDF capability.

  • Formatting text within a distributable pdf form

    Hi all,
    I am using LiveCycle Designer 8.0 to create a pdf form for people to fill out. I want them to be able to use rich text for their responses so that, for example, they can italicize or underline the text that they're entering within the text fields.
    Within LiveCycle, I've made the fields rich text (instead of plain text), and, in fact, you can use rich text when filling out the form with Acrobat.  The problem is that, after the form is submitted with Acrobat, the text reverts back to plain text and all formatting is lost (so, for example, someone can fill out the form using bold, underline, italics, different fonts and typefaces, etc., but once (s)he submits the form and it is sent to me, i only see what they filled out in plain text).
    Does anyone think they can help?  I've checked the forums for similiar posts, like this one, but haven't come across solutions for my situation.
    Thanks in advance

    The form is set to submit the entire pdf file (that is, the pdf, with the fields completed, is sent to my inbox in an email message, and, upon opening the pdf, i have the option of adding the data/completed fields to a dataset).  Unfortunately, the pdf seems to lose any formatting once it's submitted.
    You're right--perhaps i should also ask in the LiveCylce Designer forum.
    Thanks

  • Can't convert FileReader to java.io.Reader

    Hi
    I have a code segment that generates error during compilation of the source file: "Incompatible type for constructor. Can't convert FileReader to java.io.Reader.
         buffVideo = new BufferedReader (file)
         ^
    The code segment is:
    FileReader file;
    BufferedReader buffVideo;
    StreamTokenizer tokenVideo;
    String s;
    try {
         file = new FileReader (fileVideo);
         buffVideo = new BufferedReader (file);
         tokenVideo = new StreamTokenizer (buffVideo);
    import java.io.* is at the top of the .java file. It is a part of a definition of a new class. fileVideo is a String variable containing file name of a text file.
    Exactly the same .java source file compiles on a Windows 98 based machine, but not on a Windows 2000 Professional. I use version 1.1.6 as it is required by my current course.
    Can anybody suggest any resoultion for this problem, please?
    Thanks in advance

    Branko,
    Wow, my ID still works. Amazing, I haven't visited for years.

    Branko,
    This is a realy puzzler. My only guess is that you have a namespace
    conflict. The error message states:
    Can't convert File Reader to java.io.Reader
    It seems that there is another class called FileReader that is clashing
    with the on in java.io.
    Have you inadvertantly named something FileReader yourself?
    Perhaps your classpath is including something that contains a FileReader.
    Try declaring file as java.io.FileReader rather than just FileReader.
    I'm clutching at straws.
    Ged.

    And I ask more simple way.

    Thank you Andy , and Robin, I can.
    Text(TimeValue(Substitute(ThisItem!created_time,"+0000",".000Z")),"yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm")
    At Facebook Albums's Gallary, I can convert from Facebook created_time to Localtime Text DateTime.

    Can I convert Twitter time Text to Project Siena's Date Value ?

    Siena uses JavaScript to parse date/times, via the TimeValue function. A good specification regarding what is acceptable can be found here:
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Date/parse
    The example above is truly bizarre: I thought I had seen it all. You will need to turn that form into one of those listed on the above site, using string functions to chop it up and reassemble it into a saner form.
