Can Kerio and Postfix Play Together?

I'm thinking of switching my small office from postfix to Kerio. We host three websites with mail accounts on all three. A couple questions for anyone who might know:
1. Can Kerio run on the same server as Postfix? And can email users for one domain be served by Kerio and the others by Postfix? I want to know because I want to try out Kerio before buying, and I plan on trying it on the leasted used domain. If I like it I'll switched the main domain to Kerio, too.
2. Is there a way to migrate mail from postfix to Kerio? All accounts are IMAP, and I'm wondering if I can just drag the old spool's contents to the new Kerio spool folder.

"Configure Kerberos on the Kerio MailServer Machine to authenticate against OpenDirectory
This directions in this step assume that you are using a Mac OS X machine to run Kerio MailServer. As far as we are aware, this step is only necessary on Mac OS X Server.
To correctly configure Kerberos, you must:
Open the Mac OS Server Admin tool on the Kerio MailServer machine.
In the OpenDirectory section, go to the "Settings" section and select "Connected to a Directory System"
After this, you must go through the necessary steps to be able to join your machine to Kerberos using the "Join Kerberos..." button. For details, see Apple documentation.
If you have any difficulty with this last step, unfortunately Kerio Technical Support will not be able to help. Apple's Support Team would be glad to assist you, though. You can tell them that you need to "configure Kerberos to point to your OpenDirectory Master."
Once this is working, you should be able to log into Kerio MailServer using the credentials of any activated OpenDirectory user."
This CANT be right. If the OD master is changed, the whole hosted dbase is trashed, right?

Hi all,
This is a post to record your and my experience with Tumult Hype and Adobe DPS.
I'd like to get in touch with other users who use this productive combination of tools.
We have worked on a big folio and made some demos with Hype Animations.
One way or another we encountered some surprises along the way.
Please share your experiences here.
I'm not advertising any products from Adobe or Tumult, I just want to improve my workflow by sharing and caring
1. Adobe DPS + SVG + Hype = HUGE files
I use a lot of SVG files in my Hype animations. Makes sense right? A+ Quality, A+ Filesize.
But SVGs only work well and stay small in the browser e.g. Safari or on the iPad etc.
On our folio it seems that SVG files are converted into really big bitmaps(?) in the Adobe process (which is a mystery to me of course). The upload takes very very long, so I got curious. Are there any Adobe engineers who can shed light into this?
The "bug" above was a mistake in the process actually. There were other big files in the folder which have been uploaded with the HTML. Dang!
So then have fun sharing, I'll be updating this post now and then (mostly while waiting for the upload to finish )

All three of your answers were very helpful and I appreciate your time. I tried to send this reply message a few minutes ago and when I went to hit send, it said I was not logged in... I HAD been logged in so maybe it timed out. Anyway, this post comes through twice I am sorry.
I was feeling pretty befuddled with what to do, adding this topic to the decision on which computer to buy, etc. So your time and wisdom helped me to get my needs into perspective. I think I will start with the newer iphoto that comes on my imac and get PSE9 since my version of PSE is very old.. LOL and then, spend some time learning about aperture 3, since as Roger mentioned, I can import/move the files over to aperture at a future time. Since aperture 3 is the most expensive, it seems a wise move.
Oh, did read Kirby's article/post, thank you, very well written to help a newbie get a handle, and will watch the online tutorial for aperture 3 as well. And maybe it will tell me there, but right now, with iphoto I can easily email a photo and I think it will easily be shared with an ipad2. If I get aperture 3 and use it instead of iphoto, does it have an easy interface for sharing via email and/or the ipad?

ITunes Video Podcasts and Photoshop CS5 not playing together.

i just got a MBP with all the trimmings and have been having a problem since i got it.
As a photographer I need Photoshop CS5 and have installed it as normal on my new MBP.
Every time I am playing a video podcast from my iTunes library and let's say I open CS5 to work side by side with a video tutorial, strange things happen like everything becomes sluggish, CS5 might **** down, the video will start and stop, the screen will change into a pixelated color mess.. i could go on but i think you get the idea. Most times when this happens, which is every time I open the two programs, I need to end up doing a hard shutdown as the computer becomes un responsive.
Now I can work on CS5 alone or with Lightroom and I can watch a video or video podcast alone but when I open up the two they can't seem to play together, at all...
I have been on with Apple tech support for the past 10 days, and even re installed my OS on Friday. Applecare told me to re - install the OS and try each program one at a time to try to identify the issue. As soon as I installed CS5 this started again.
i don't know if it's Adobe or Mac... i have an appt with the Apple Store tomorrow but would love some help from you before I go so we can hopefully come up with an answer.
Bottom line, I just switched to a top of the line $2500 Mac laptop from being a PC.
I can get by without Mac but can't get by without CS5... I am really bummed with my new Mac but really want to make it work..

Two questions for video? Are they iPod compatible? iTunes should warn you if not. Where are you looking for the videos? Check under videos menu of iPod then video podcast menu.
With iPod plugged in, go to audiobooks tab. Is checkbox checked to include audiobooks?

Hi,
it is possible to use handling unit management together with warehouse management. You activate handling unit management independent from storage unit management. Only in case if storage location is full-WM- AND HU-managed, the storage unit management is always active and HU numbers are taken over as SU numbers. In all other cases HUM and SUM are independent from each other and number ranges must be set a way that they are not overlapping.

Look at item properties for the .mov and .dv files. What exactly does it say they are? What drive are they playing back from? Make sure the contents of the viewer are set to fit to window in the View popup at the top of the viewer.

LR and Organizer playing nicely together?

Hi all,
I am an advanced LR user. I just started working with Premier Elements and do use Photoshop Elements (on the very few occasions that LR won't do the trick). The Elements series uses Adobe Organizer to locate images and video clips, so I figured this is an important tool to get to know. I pointed Organizer at the top of my image and video hierarchy and told it to import. After about 12 hours of my MacBook Pro become a veritable flamethrower, the import process was finished. Apparently Organizer was able to successfully read all of the tagging done in LR and even pick out some faces. Very Cool!
So now the big test came. I imported more fresh photos and videos onto my disk via Lightroom. I then started up Organizer hoping that it might just automatically see the new assets and add them to its catalog. No dice, but no surprise :-( I was able to manually import the new images into Organizer, but that is a pain. Is there any way to get LR and Organizer more in synch? Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Paul's issue is that he wants to use Premier Elements to author videos from video clips and still images. Premier is indeed tightly integrated with the Elements Organizer and relies on it as the primary method for accessing clips and images. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a convenient way to have the two play together nicely. Consider the approaches:
- Use LR's library module to tag and find clips and images. This approach has some serious issues: LR doesn't handle the range of video formats that Elements does (though it may be adequate for you), and it has limited metadata capabilities for video (you can't change the capture time, for example). You'll have to export images you've edited in LR to JPEG format, since Elements won't understand LR's internal representation of edits. And you'll have to use File > Open in Elements, rather than the Organizer or LR's library, to include clips and images in your video projects, which could be fairly clumsy.
- Use LR's library module to tag clips and images but use Organizer to find clips and images for inclusion in Elements projects. In this approach, you first import all clips and images into LR's catalog and tag them. In the Organizer, you enable the File > Watch Folders functionality to monitor the same set of folders where you import clips and images, and whenever you start Organizer, it will automatically import new clips and images from those folders. A couple of additional problems with this: LR doesn't write metadata (tags, captions, and dates) back to video clips, so the Organizer won't see your metadata changes. Also, if in LR you change an image's metadata after it's already imported into Organizer, there's no way to get those changes into the Organizer's catalog.
- Use LR's library module to tag and find images, but use the Organizer to tag and find video clips. This will have a mix of the issues of the previous two approaches.

Turning your Mac into a clock radio.
1. In iTunes create a playlist that contains just the radio station you want to wake up to.
2. Export the playlist (as .m3u works well). Get Info on your playlist file and look at the Open With entry to make sure it points to iTunes, VLC or some other app that will stream your station.
3. In iCal create an event entry at the time you want to wake up.
4. Right (or Control) click on your wakeup event and select Get Info.
5. For "alarm" select Open File.
6. Now under Open File there will be a place to add the file to open. It will probably be some default entry (like iCal). Click on it will allow you to select "other." Then use the file dialog to select your playlist file.
Your Mac will wake you up at the appointed time. You don't need to keep iCal running. If you want to put you Mac to sleep for the night then there is one more thing you need to do. Open System Preferences to Energy Saver and click on the Schedule button. Check Start up or wake and set the wake up time to slightly before your iCal alarm time.

Here's the short-cut solution:
Green Apple tracks are MIDI files (so to speak). If you drag one from the loop browser (Capitol C Orchestral hit, as you mentioned in this exable) directly into the arrange page it creates the MIDI file and the instrument to play it back on.
HOWEVER.If you create and audio track first, THEN drag the green Apple loop onto that track, the loop will get "bounced" with the reverb in tact and you'll have the exact sound that you heard in the preview.
Make sense?

IMovie has frozen up on me. I've tried rebooting and reinstalling the apps- no help. I can play some of the files- but I can't get into the libraries.Even when I can get something to play the whole system crashes after a few minutes. What can I do?

I desperately need your help. I was working on iMovie last night when the thing froze up on me. I've tried rebooting. I've tried reinstalling the apps. No change. I can play some of the files- although I can't tell which ones will play until they magically appear. I can't get into the project library or the event library. The bar that lets me scroll through the clips is gone. Even when I can get something to play the whole system crashes after a couple of minutes and generates a "problem report" that says "iMovie Quit Unexpectedly". This all started when I was adding cutaways- and one clip just would not load. After I tried several times everything froze up. Have you ever heard of something like this? Maybe I pushed a button or somehow changed a setting? Maybe some of the video is corrupt? What do you recommend?

Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing wil be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem than an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The songs on my Ipod Classic wont play at all although you can feel and hear the machinery working hard. The tracks are not playng at all but you can see the Ipod rewinding them all and returning to the album. And this happens to the second IPOD I have!

First off, I would STRONGLY suggest that a external hard drive would make you life much easier by at least being able to back up your songs on the external drive for when you need them. Even if you don't want them in the iTunes library, you can have them all ready on the external to be re-added as needed. You can get 100's of gigs for under $100 shipped.
Anyway, since you used Yamipod, are all the songs back on the computer? If so, I would go ahead and restore the iPod, let iTunes then resync everything back to the iPod, then switch it back to manual and see if the restore and resync clears up the issue.
