I guess the answer is yes if you want to play *wav files.
There are built-in VI's for this. See attached image.

That's normal and as designed. The song will play out. You can pause it by pressing one of the volume buttons or use an app like 'Stop the Music' to completely exit the player.

Yeah, I wrote this wrong. Its ITunes has stopped working and Windows is trying to solve problem, then shuts down.
I have un-installed , re-installed. Tried earlier version and that wont work any more. Changes firewall, pop-ups whatever...........nothing works. And Apple has been no help. Run test and it says all test are good even to Apple store??

Can't type or play music and videos.

I spilled water on my iPod, now every time when i'm typing it blocks after a few letters.
I also can't play music and videos, when i pres play it just sets itself back on pause.

Place the iPod in a sealed container iwth uncooked rice for a week to dry the iPod . Then try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Can Apple TV simultaneously play music through my stereo (wired) and a bluetooth speaker in another room?

I am looking at buying a bluetooth speaker that I could stream to from my Apple TV. I also want to be able to play the same music through the stereo that my Apple TV is connected to. Can that be done simultaneously?

If you would like to add the music from your external hard drive to iTunes without copying it to the iTunes Library on your internal hard drive, you may find the following article helpful:
Add files to your library without adding them to your iTunes folder
When you add an item already on your computer to your iTunes library, iTunes places a copy of the file in your iTunes folder. The original file remains in its current location.
You can change this setting so that files are added to your iTunes library without being added to the iTunes folder. You might want to do this, for example, if you prefer to store video files on an external disk but still want to view them in iTunes.
Choose iTunes > Preferences, and click Advanced.
Deselect the checkbox next to “Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library.”
From now on, when you drag a file to your library or choose File > Add to Library, the item appears in iTunes, but the actual file isn’t copied or moved.
Tip: You can temporarily reverse this setting by holding down the Option key while you drag files to the iTunes window.

Can't add and play music to itunes

i hope i get some help well i was going to add a new cd and and when it got in it got the names and the rest but when it begins to import it does it at 1 second per song and when i take it out and in again i stop the import and only try to play the songs it does the same 1 sec per song i'll put here the cd diagnoastics here so any body can give me a hand: . i hope to get help here i even taken out itunes from my sistem and deleted my 1,450 songs to check out it began to work ok ti but it only lasted 1 day i even re-instaled my dvd-rw external 2 times in case but i dont know what else to do

the strange thing is that i can do about everything with windows media player with my same dvd burner paly cds and burn them but when i go to do the same with itunes i can't it imports the songs a sec per song and when i go to the librery to hear them they do the same thing a sec per song

Can STOR.E TV+ play music without TV being on?

It seems almost all media players have no built-in display so I was pleased to find the STOR.E. Can someone tell me if the unit's display is comprehensive enough to navigate, select and play audio files without having to switch the telly on?
On a more general note, are the owners of this player happy with it or does it have any specific problems?

yes, it works.
Ive connected the StorE TV+ via chinch (red+white) cable to the stereo receiver and I was abled to navigate it by using the internal display of the StorE TV+.
It was not necessary to put the TV on.

Oh never mind. Small piece of tissue was stuck in the jack. Prevented it from working.

Can the Airport Express play music if it is connected to the network by wire only and not by wifi?

I would like to add an Airport Express to the second floor and the wifi range is not strong enough from my wifi router located in the ground floor.
However I have ethernet plugs in all rooms connected by wire to the router. So I was thinking to plug the Airport Express via wire to my ethernet plug.
The goal is to have this Airport Express listed with all the others located in the ground floor that are connected wirelessly in my Airplay speakers.

Yes - Airplay will work whether the Express is wired or wireless - wired is the most reliable way to go - note however that if you wire the Express, you would use the "create a wireless network" option and use the same name and password as your main network

i use 2 browse & play music in older phones & mp3 players by folders it was much easier & faster .. didn't ve 2 modify the library or create any playlists just arrange ma folders, is there any app or update that can make me browse & play music by folders??

with default media player there is no such possibility. partial remedy is to edit genre for all mp3s, but it's strange how hardware gets more sophisticated, yet software offers less posibilities...

Can't import or play CD's in iTunes?

Don't know if anyone else has had this problem.
When inserting the CD, iTunes would see it & find the track info.
when trying to play or import the CD, the program would just hop down the track list & say it had finished importing.
I tracked the problem down to 'use error correction when reading Audio CD's'in the import settings & disabled it.
Everything now works fine!
I use XP Pro, anybody know if this is a bug, or is there some setting I have to alter in Windows so I can use error correction?

i don't have an especially good feel for how much this would help with this particular issue, but it might be worth following up on checking for upgraded firmware or drivers for the PC. these resources might be of some help with that:

Can't import or play tracks from CD in Itunes

Hi,
I am unable to import or play any of my songs from my CDs in ITunes 6.0.2. In the past, I had no problem with this.
I tried selecting a song from a CD located on the ddesktop and opening Quicktime instead and I was once again unable to play the song. The songs in my Itunes library work fine and I am able to play these. Then I inserted an old CD again which is part of my Itunes library already and this time it refused to play or import the tracks.
By the way, a little while ago I had a problem with my MAC and lost my whole Itunes library. I downloaded a program called IPodRip in order to restore my Itunes library from my IPod. Since then I have not imported any new songs whatsoever. I am wondering if this has something to do with the problem I am experiencing now???
