Can Labview be installed on a portable harddrive

I would like to be able to take my work home with me and would like to know if I can install my labview development software on my portable hard drive so that I can plug in (USB) and work where ever I want.

Considering LabVIEW has to be activated, probably not... you would need to have a licensed version for home and work.  Call up NI, explain your licensing situation.  They may tolerate an installed version at home like other companies do.  I know Mathsoft does for MathCAD for instance.  They require you to get special license files that they call "home seats."

    Yes you can store images on an external hard dive and have them referenced in Organizer. It’s best to export copies to separate folders/subfolders and that will ensure iPhoto does not get corrupted.
    Alternatively you could continue to use iPhoto with the Elements Editor set up in the iPhoto prefs as your external editing app. Then there is no need to use Organizer and no need to duplicate your images.
    You can then call up photos directly from iPhoto as normal with the additional option e.g.
    Double-click on a thumbnail to edit in iPhoto editor.
    Control (right) - click on a thumbnail to edit in the elements app.

  • Itunes copied my files from my portable harddrive to my new computer harddrive on a new computer. I didn't want that, but didn't realize I did it.  How do I fix this so I can delete the songs from my computer harddrive and use the songs from the portable

    On my new computer I installed Itunes.  I wanted Itunes to use my portable harddrive for music, but instead it copied my library to the hard drive of my computer, filling it almost full.  I didn't realize this happened until I synced my iphone to Itunes.  How do I fix this?  I want to delete the library from my hard drive of my computer, and use the library from my portable hard drive.

    I have a 27" iMac with 16GB of factory installed SDRAM and 1T harddrive.  It is telling me the harddrive is full and is not functioning correctly.  How can I adjust so that all files are managed on the harddrive rather than the SDRAM.  (BTW - design flaw here.)
    Older Macs with a single Harddrive would simply expand OS management on the drive, and I think I understand the new Fusion Drive to do just that, but how do I get this product that I spent a great deal of money on to be more than a pretty screen?

    I was confused by this statement
    It is telling me the harddrive is full and is not functioning correctly.
    OS X manages ram and when you run out, it create swapfiles to extend your ram on the HDD (Hard Disk Drive). The OS itself, takes about 16 gig of space and that too resides on the HDD.  Your 16 gig of RAM is really a temporary space that holds things from the HDD so the processor can work on them.  There is no design flaw between your ram and HDD.  Something else is going on and there are a lot of smart people here to help you figure out what that "something else" is.
    I would do three things.  First I would create a backup, backups are important.  Second, I would reboot into recovery and repair my HDD.  Lastly while still booted in recovery I would repair permissions.
    Can you capture a screen shot of the exact error you are getting?

  • How do I install LabVIEW 6.0 over the evaluation version? I can't un-install the evaluation version.

    I get the message that another version of LabVIEW 6.0 is already installed and it won't let me install 6.0. How do I get rid of the evaluation version?

    I don't have LabVIEW in my Add/Remove Programs. I may have at one time, but
    can't remember. The removal must have been incomplete becasue LabVIEW 6.0
    says "Another version of this produce is already installed." The same thing
    happens if I try to reinstall the evaluation version.

  • I have both LabVIEW 2012 and 2013 but MathScript RT Module can only be installed in 2012 not 2013

    It can be succesfully installed on 2012 and I can't choose to install it on 2013. Why can't I install MathScript RT Module on both versions? Or did I do anything wrong?

    Are you installing the  version of the module that matches the LabVIEW version?

    How many times can I re-install CS6?

    For ease of access and portability Adobe allows you to install the Adobe product on 2 computers of the same platform. However, you may not run the software simultaneously on both computers.
    If you wish to install the software on third computer you need to de-activate the software from one of the 2 systems, and then install it on the new system.

  • Backing up itunes library to portable harddrive. Does it work well?

    Hi. I think my main harddrive is about to fail so I'm thinking of about backing up my itunes library to a portable harddrive.
    I've used the back-up to DVD facility in itunes before and it didn't work very well at all. Loads of tracks had exclamation marks next to them - basically half of my library was missing. I've heard the harddrive back-up facility is better.
    Do all your tunes need to be in the itunes folder to work properly? Alot of my tracks are in My documents>My music, but spread across different sub folders. Will this back-up ok like this?
    Thanks.

    *Fast backup for iTunes library (Windows Only)*
    Grab SyncToy 2.0, a free tool from MS. Use it to create a backup copy of your iTunes library & any other media folders onto another hard drive or network share. After making the initial backup copy use SyncToy to periodically synchronise the backup copy with your library and only the changed files will be copied saving lots of time.
    If you get all your media inside the *iTunes\iTunes Music\* folder then the iTunes folder should work as a portable library. It can be copied/moved to a different drive or loction and opened there.
    Like you I used to have most of my music in the standard Windows *My Music* folder but I eventually got tired of trying to move parts of it to an external drive and relinking it. I recently moved everything onto one external drive, wiped all but the Podcasts (which don't always reimport properly) then rebuilt the library. I use SyncToy to clone this to a second backup drive. To test my backup I can disconnect the main external drive, open the library on the backup and it all works properly.

  • Installing only on portable drive

    I got my son an ipod nano (4gig), he's in Africa right now working for a relief agency. My daughter will be taking it to him when they meet up on vacation soon. He doesn't currently have iTunes at all, but has lots of music stored on a portable 10gig portable USB hard drive that he moves between the computers at home and at work. I have a couple of questions:
    1. I plan on installing some music for him to enjoy on vacation, while he's away from his computer. I probably will enable the hard disk use and copy that music also in there so he can copy it back when he returns to Africa.
    2. When he installs iTunes for the first time, is it possible to have it installed only on the portable drive, and not in the My Documents folder? At work, he doesn't have one computer assigned to him, they use whatever computer is available. Do you have to designate this as it is installing, or move it later? I've read some of these threads, and it seems like there are some problems with iTunes not recognizing the location of the music files, or problems with the .itl and .xml files not being on the main computer. If he could have it all installed on the portable drive, then that would solve the problem of attaching the ipod to two different computers running iTunes, and keep his library in one place.
    Any suggestions you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.
    (eta: how funny is it that iTunes and ipod come up as mispelled words in the spell check here??)

    You can use a symlink on Mac OS X Server, or (more consistent with Mac OS X Server) you can use Server Admin to move the MySQL database directory via its settings display.

  • Can LabView 2013 be used to develop blocks for Lego LabView Education EV3?

    I would like to interface some custom sensors to the Lego EV3 brick. Can LabView 2013 be used to build Blocks for Lego LabView EV3 software?

    Please note Mac OSX users using LabView 2013 Student Edition -- you CAN use the new EV3 modules but you must install f1 patch first.
    I installed NI LabVIEW 2013 LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Module f1 Patch.
    Then
    NI LabVIEW 2013 Module for LEGO MINDSTORMS f2 Patch
    Now I can program for LEGO EV3, download to EV3 and it works all from the LV 2013 Student Edition (UK).

  • Profibus labview 2009 install

    I currently have a problem installing the visa drivers for labview that come with the DF profi 2, it tells me I need a Labview version greater than 7.1 -even though I have labview 2009 install. I could install the DF profi 2 in windows using the supplied ini... and labview MAX is picking it up. I can even run some of my older profibus slave programs by including the .bin file with my VI. The thing is I want to now try out the 'master' examples but so far have had no luck.

    Dear WireJunky2,
    the problem could be that, the necessary registry of LabVIEW "CurrentVersion" has been deleted by unisntallation of an old LabVIEW version.
    Please check if the following necessary entries exist:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\National Instruments\LabVIEW\CurrentVersion]
    "VersionString"="9.0"
    "Version"="9.0"
    "Path"="C:\\Programme\\National Instruments\\LabVIEW 2009\\"

  • How many times can you clean install leopard on the same computer?

    How many times can you clean install leopard on the same computer? Will the leopard dvd run out of installations and not let you install anymore?

    Hi colman Prez;
    Now that the funny comments have been made, I have a serious question and that why are you worry about reinstalling Leopard with an Erase & Install which is what I take that you mean when you say clean install. In actually fact there is no such thing in OS X as a clean install.
    I am curious because in all the years I have used OS X, I have yet to do an Erase & Install yet.
    I know with Windows that they suggest reformatting and reinstalling at the drop of a hat but that isn't true with OS X.
