Can LE8 be set up for a Midi Wind Controller

Hi, I'm interested in moving from GB to LE8. I've been reading in reviews that LE8 can't handle obscure midi surfaces. I want to plug in a Midi Wind Controller (Yamaha WX-11) and then set LE8 to handle data like continual velocity check and aftertouch.
Has anyone tried it with a wind controller? If not, does anyone know if LE8 can be programmed for handling additional midi data as I've described? Thanks!

I have a WX5 wind controller and been playing around with it tonight and some of the synths in LE7.2. I can't figure out how to set up MIDI control #2 for breath. As complex as this SOB is, there must be some way to do it. I am able to get the synths to play but they just aren't expressive without the breath control.
Guess I can always record my WT11 into an audio channel. I've done that before. It would be fun to be able to play the Sampler in LE7.
I ordered the upgrade to 8 today, BTW.
Do you know about the Wind Controller group on Yahoo Groups? Some good help there for sure!

Why can't Firefox set permissions for Snow Leopard Server Web-Site Wikis

I've established a web-site for collaboration of planning for a state-wide NGO and a local citizens-government oversight commission.
I'm using Snow Leopard Server v10.6.4, to drive the web-site, which includes the use of wikis.
In creating a wiki and setting permissions, I find that I cannot set permissions for users or groups to 'read only' from the default 'read & write' while using Firefox. However, I CAN set them to 'read only' using Safari. And, once the permission has been modified in Safari, THEN it can be modified in Firefox.

Anyway, recently encountered the following with a Mac mini server running Snow Leopard Server:
Despite being able to ARD / Screenshare the Mac mini, I was unable to get any further than the login window. Authentication credentials are obviously valid. No weird access permissions have been set. However, the weird thing was, I can connect to the server via Server Admin tools (from another Mac) and all other services were running without a hitch.
After much head scratching it turns out to be a sACL (Service Access Control List) issue.

To save you the trouble, I’ll lay it out here. I cannot take credit for this, but Randall can!
Open Server Admin on a computer (any), and connect with the local admin to the machine.
Select the server and authenticate.
Select Settings, then go to Access. You’ll want to make sure that Login Window and SSH have the local admin account listed if you select the option to “Allow only these users”. For now, I would suggest making sure all services have “Allow all users and groups” selected.
If (as in my case) it was set to Allow All in the first place, simply toggle the settings – back and forth.
Save.
Try logging in again… should be a good one!

As for turning motors on and off, SignalExpress is not meant for control applications. For controls, you should use LabVIEW either entirely or use a LabVIEW VI from SignalExpress. To do the latter, you could use a LabVIEW VI step in SignalExpress that will execute a LabVIEW VI that does the control processing and outputting that you want. That way you could work in the SignalExpress environment for all the data acquisition, and you would only have to use LabVIEW to program the control VI (or VIs).

Roland MC500 into logic - setting tempo for imported midi data

My mate has an Roland MC500, where he's programmed multi-tracked midi info for songs etc, and we've sussed how to import the channels into separate regions in logic.
We've set the tempo as per the tempo on the MC500, but after importing the track, after a certain length of time the tempo goes out of sync. All the midi data has come across, and when assigning soft-synths etc it plays fine, but just moves out of tempo.
Is there a way that, when you have imported midi data in this way, you can ask logic to confirm/set the tempo?
I've had a read thru the manuals etc, but may have missed where it describes that bit?

yes...
you need to set the MC500 to send the MMC over its MIDI outs... than in Logic you must set th sync "Blue button"
the picture shows MTC but if you scroll down the menu you will find MMC settings... that must be turned ON on Logic settings Synchronization.
Logic must be setted as Slave... because Roland device is the slower one!

It's a trust issue. You can set them up so you don't receive each other's messages as long as you each have your own email address.
The trust issue is the fact that either of you can change the separation at any time via Settings by checking the appropriate (inappropriate?) email address.
To be absolutely sure you can never receive each other's messages will require two Apple IDs.

HT1237 Where can I get firmware updates for a Mid 2007 Mac mini (Macmini2,1)?

The model for some reason is taken off of the firmware update support page. I found an archive of the page from 2011 and there seems to have been an update. My current SMC Version is 1.19f2 and the update was 1.3f4 but the strange thing is that when I follow the link to download it forwards me to the late 2009 model page. Any help would be appreciated. I'd look across the internet but I'm not comfortable download firmware upgrades from a 3rd party site.

Edit: I found that the mid 2007, late 2006 and early 2006 use the same SMC firmware and realized that both the link from the archived page and the link for the late 2006 model on apple's page all linked to the early 2006 firmware update. I'm going to try it. If you want me to update with results reply, otherwise consider this dead...

I am also, currently working on a project implementing BO SuPM Version 1.0. Landscape is ECC -> BI -> SuPM dashboards.
I have created a KPI in SuPM dashboard.
Case 1 : Automatic data collection - This KPI is marked for Automatic data collection. So, maintained Scripts with Connectivity and SAP BW Query name. I save this KPI and include in a new report and Run it. There are no records displayed.
Case 2: Manual data collection - This KPI is marked for manual data collection. So, maintained values in SuPM portal itself. I save this KPI and include in a new report and Run it. There are no records displayed.
Could you please help me how KPI in SuPM be filled manually and automatically ( from BW Query)?

Hi: Please click on the device in the device manager. Then click on the details tab. Post the top string of characters you see. Those will identify the type and model of the missing device and I can send you the link to the drivers. It is either your AMT driver, TPM driver or IMEI driver. Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

Where can I buy a genuine apple replacement battery (A1309) for my Mid 2010 17" Macbook Pro? There are used batteries on ebay that don't appear genuine. There are some third-party knock offs. The apple store seems to believe they can replace it, but I have to make a reservation at the silly Genius Bar just to have them tell me how much it's gonna cost, not to mention then likely wait for them to order the battery and install it. I'm perfectly capable of installing it myself. I just need to know where I can order it?

Yeah, that's what I've finally decided. I was kidna super frustrated because the first apple store I called wouldn't even tell me a price or tell me if they could replace the battery without a Genius Bar appointment, and as I would have to take off work and drive acros town--and I don't have a car so I'd have to borrow one--that was pretty annoying. That call left me pricing linux laptops. I called another store to see if I'd have better luck, and the initial answer was the same, but the girl relented under some trying-to-be-nice-but-clearly-annoyed pressure, and she gave me the answers I needed: yes, they should have the battery in stock and it should be a same-day replacement that should cost $179.
It just *****, really, because there's so much about Apple that I used to love, and I'm watching it kinda melt away under their success in the mobile market. As a professional user, there's less and less reason to stick with them. Instead of being the best they can be, I feel like they're just trying to be flashier and just a little better than the other mediocre computer companies. Ugh. Anyway, now I'm ranting.
