Can Leopard Help?
Hello,
I was about to run out and upgrade from my very reliable PowerBook G4, to a MacBook Pro.
The benefits would be amazing from all reports. However, researching the MacBook Pro in these forums has left me wondering if I should be patient and wait for Leopard to be released.
A few concerns are:
1. Battery Performance
2. Wireless Router issues
3. Connecting to an External Monitor issues
4. Warped Screens / Quality Control
I'm hoping Apple has taken these concerns into consideration when developing Leopard.
Any advice would be appreciated
Joe

You do realize that these forums of for troubleshooting don't you? So naturally that's what you're going to see when you browse around.
Technology is not perfect, yet there are still thousands of users out there with no issues whatsoever, so they don't post on these forums.
On the other hand, since Leopard is not yet available, nobody here can say with any certainty whether it will fix any of the wider spread issues. It could cause more issues, as it will be an "untested" environment in the hands of the masses. So if you think of it that way, you should either buy now, and use a tried and tested OS, or wait until Leopard has been out for a while and bugs have been squashed.

After updating to snow leopard and trying to delete mackeeper, Flash player is being blocked and will not allow me to view utubes. Can anyone help?
Here are instructions for eradicating MacKeeper - you may need to re-install it to uninstall it fully:

Regarding Flash - there are many reports on here that v13.x isn't working for a lot of people. distractme in the following thread posted instructions on how to install the previous version, which should work whilst Adobe work on a fix:

I have a MacBook pro version 10.6.7 with snow leopard. After an scheduled software upgrade I could not open Quicken (It said it could not open the files). Now I can only open it if I have my external drive on. Can you help?
All the information that I had input on Quicken is gone. I have to have the external hard drive that I use to back up to be able to use quicken now. It is as if it was erased from the laptop hardriveTry repairing permissions. My favorite way is with a utility called AppleJack. Info and download here. It's free. It only works when you boot in Single User Mode. When restarting or booting, hold down the Command key and S keys.
You will get a very different startup screen that looks like the Terminal app has hijacked the screen. Just let the lines of text scroll by. When that happens you will get a text entry prompt. Type in "AppleJack" without the quotation marks.
A DOS looking menu will appear. Choose 1 or d to run Disk Repair. If you get a message that Disk Repair found and corrected errors, run it again. Repeat until you get the "your disk appears to be ok" message. This rarely happens with my experience, though. This does the same thing as as booting from an external drive and running Disk Utility's repair. Only, no external drive is required!
Next, choose 2 or p to repair disk permissions. This will take a little while. AppleJack warns that it will take up to an half hour to run repair permissions. It'n never taken more than about ten minutes for my MacBook Pro.
As permissions are repaired, you will see each repair scroll on the screen. When done, the menu returns, choose q to quit. Then at the prompt, enter "exit" without the quotes. Your MacBook Pro should restart into Mac OS normally after this.
Hope this helps. -

Updated from Leopard to Snow Leopard, then upgraded to Lion, now my system is freezing on startup. Can anyone help?
Try a Safe Boot: Restart holding down the shift key until you (hopefully) see a grey progress bar. Once booted restart as normal from the Apple menu. Any change?
How much RAM do you have installed? -
I have just upgraded to Snow Leopard and at the end of the upgrade the printer drivers failed to load. I have since updated them myself (Epson BX305) but still get an eror message 'rasteroescpll failed'. can anyone help?
I have an Imac previously running 5.8.0 and now running 6.3.0.
thank you
HughThe current driver version is 8.67.
Delete you printer.
Delete the folder /Library/Prnters/EPSON
Delete the folder /Library/Caches/Epson
Unplug your printer from your computer for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. You should be prompted to download the new drivers.
If all that fails, you can get the new drivers from Apple at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398 -
I am Using Mac leopard 10.5.8 and just loaded quicktime pro 7.69 and just can't get it to launch. Can anyone help me with this please
tommyI am Using Mac leopard 10.5.8 and just loaded quicktime pro 7.69 and just can't get it to launch.
There is nothing new or separate to launch. When the QT 7.6.9 Player is keyed with your registration name and number, the player itself becomes the QT v7.6.9 "Pro" player with additional features "unlocked" for your use. For instance, if you have a QT compatible file loaded in your player and can now open the "Properties" window, then you have "Pro" feature access. In a similar manner, "File" menu transcoding and "Edit" menu features are now accessible. -
ipod touch 4g 4.3 not detecting in itunes 10.1.2, i am using mac os x 10.3 snow leopard, can someone help?
You do not need Snow Leopord (10.6.X), but you do need Leopord (10.5.8) and iTunes 10.x for iOS 4.3. You need iTunes 10.5 for iOS 5
For the Current (iOS 5 iPod touch specs)
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
Mac: OS X v10.5.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.5 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)7 -

I currently have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and I want to upgrade to Lion 7.4. I see no upgrades available to get there. Can someone help me?

Maybe they've pulled Lion temporarily in order to clear server bandwidth for the expected feeding frenzy over ML?
There's always that possibility but I suspect that any Lion purchases today will be just a drop in the bucket. Still, there really ought to be some provision for those whose Macs can't go beyond Lion to upgrade since continued Snow Leopard support is now in question (the reason I finally moved to Lion).
There are a lot of people complaining that their free upgrade redeem codes for ML aren't working so I bet keeping Lion available is way down on Apple's to-do list. -
Hi, I just bought the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 disk to upgrade my 10.5.8 leopard, but each time I insert the disk into my Macbook, it doesn't accept it! Can anyone help me?

when i try to install snow leopard with install disk, it has me restart the computer instead of installing. can anyone help me figure out how to get the disk to actually install?
Ok, it's just a glitch that it's not auto-rebooting from the disk.
Please backup your personal files off the machine to a regualr external drive and disconnect all drives before doing anything
Take the 10.6 disk out and clean and polish the bottom with a very soft clean cloth and a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol to cut the oils.
Stick the disk in and reboot holding c key down, this will make it boot from the disk and you can install Snow Leopard that way.
