Can library on home sharing be used by different iTunes accounts?

I would like to have access to the songs we have on our itunes library- songs my husband put onto our PC using his old cd's...   They are now part of his iTunes library.  Will homesharing with our home computer open this up to my itunes account?  Our old PC's files are transferred but came over in itunes.  I would like these 1800 songs in my library as well...   Otherwise, I do not see any advantage of homesharing... (for my family)  Am i missing something?

Hello Hillsinki,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you are wanting to simply transfer music in one iTunes Library to another computer's iTunes Library, just follow the "Home Sharing" directions found in the article below.

can you set up apple tv using 2 different itunes accounts from 2 different macs in same household?

No, you can only connect to one Home Sharing account at a time. If you want to see the content of the other Mac's library you will have to turn off Home Sharing on the Apple TV and log back in with the other iTunes account.

    1. Give her a separate user account on your computer. If you have a backup copy of the library, you can restore it.
    2. If you encounter a 90-day waiting period, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff if they'll remove it.

  • HT2534 how can I logon to the app's store using a different itunes account

how can I logon to the app's store using a different itunes account?

You can log out of the currently logged in account on your iPhone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and logging out, and you then log in with a different account. But any content downloaded via the currently logged in account will remain tied to that account, and if you use iTunes match, automatic downloads or re-download past purchases for an account then you risk tying the iPhone to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

  • HT4722 Hi do I buy a second licence of Compressor on the app store so I can share processing. Want to use the same itunes account.

Hi do I buy a second licence of Compressor on the app store so I can share processing. Want to use the same itunes account.

If you're referring to distributed processing on multiple computers and if they're yours, you don't need another license. Just sign in with your account info and download C4 to the other computer.
If that is not what ypu're referring to, please give a more complete description and perhaps someone can steer you in the right direction.
    Good luck.

  • 1. How do I separate my library from my kids'? We have different itunes accounts, 1 computer.

How do I separate my library from my kids'?  We have different iTunes accounts and log in and out when we sync our various devices, all on one Windows 8 (new to us) computer.  All I want is to plug my devices in and sync ONLY my songs!  I've been managing to manually manage and check and uncheck songs, but it's such a pain and that doesn't always work anyway.  It is as if there are more than 2 locations for my music and I just want them all to show up in my own library.  Does that make sense?  Please help.

Stop manually managing content, that is simply not smart or efficient.
Create playlists with the desired content, sync those playlists to the device. iTunes remembers what to sync to each device.
If you really want to split the library, that can be done but it will be a time consuming and entirely manual process.

  • IPhones can't access Home Sharing w/ One Computer & Multiple iTunes Libraries

I have a Mac Pro that I am using as a iTunes media server for my home entertainment network. This computer has two user accounts. Each user account has it's own iTunes Library. One is for my kid's movies and the other is for my wife and I's movies. I have both of the libraries setup for Home Sharing and for the most part this works perfectly for viewing with Apple TV and the laptops that we have. Both libraries are available for use on these devices.
Where I am having trouble is with iPhones. My wife and I have iPhone 6s and when we open the Videos app it shows that only one library is available. Her phone might show the kid's library as available and mine will show the other library or visa versa. The libraries are not available at the same time on our iPhones. As I stated, our other devices are fine and are able to access each library when desired.
As an example, Jack's Library & Jane's Library are available under shared, seen in the inserted image. In my situation, only one of the libraries would be available even though both libraries are setup for Home Sharing.
I have tried the following (none resolved the issue):
    Close/Re-Open iTunes
Turning Home Sharing off/on for each of the iTunes Libraries
Turning Home Sharing off/on for each of the iPhones
    De-Authorize/Re-Authorize my Mac Pro
    Reboot Mac Pro

  • Can I use two different iTunes accounts on one computer without using Family sharing

So my wife made the mistake of logging into her iTunes account on my computer to purchase some music and she also (without knowing what she was doing) turned on family sharing at some point.
This is irritating for multiple reasons:
Now I have hundreds of artists added to my iTunes match, all of who I care nothing about and don't want the clutter in my artist list, but I can't figure out how to permanently delete them off of my account. Also, now if I login to my account on iTunes I can't play any of my music for 90 days.
Is there ANY way for me to re-organize my music, delete her junk, and get myself back to where I can play my purchased music on my iTunes account? Any time I try to organize or delete her music it shows back up next time I open it.
I almost feel like I need to download all of my music off of the cloud, delete my iTunes account, and then open another one AFTER organizing my music while offline and then enable match again. Everything is so cluttered and frustrating. Looking for some advice.

    1. Give her a separate user account on your computer. If you have a backup copy of the library, you can restore it.
    2. If you encounter a 90-day waiting period, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff if they'll remove it.

  • Can't get Home Sharing to work after updating iTunes to 11.1.5

I just updated iTunes to 11.1.5 and can no longer access Home Sharing on my other devices such as iPhone and Apple TV (3rd Gen).  I have gone through the trouble shooting guidelines.  My network is fine. I can access the iTunes store from both devices.  I have rebooted iTunes and apps and Apple TV.  Have turned Sharing off and on.  I have checked settings on the phone.  Nothing seems to be working.  Any ideas?

Did you restart your router?  Did you check Firewall settings?

  • Can you use two different iTunes accounts in Apple TV

My wife and I have our own iTunes accounts which we use on our separate iPhones, but on the same Macbook. Can we use these separate accounts on Apple TV. Not at the same time of course.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
How do you run your two separate accounts.
If they are part of the same library then you can access content from both iTunes accounts at the same time.
If they are different libraries in the same user account and you switch them then you can access content from whichever library is active at the time.
If you have two user accounts you can access both libraries at the same time providing both user accounts are running and iTunes is open in each (this option is mac only)

  • Can I use 2 different iTunes accounts on one iPod touch?

It is my daughters iPod that is linked to my iTunes account for purchases. I want her to use her own email (or iTunes account) for FaceTime and Messaging. We had this system working at one time, but now her FaceTime and Messaging are linked to my iTunes account.

    I recommend that you
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
    Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
    Settings>FaceTime
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.
If you want to use here new ID for purchases note:
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
Also note the 90 day time period specified here. It concerns some iCloud services

  • Can I use two different iTunes accounts for one iPhone?

I have a UK iTunes account but am currently living in Qatar and for banking reasons wish to make purchases using a Qatar credit card only.  For some idiotic reason Apple will not allow me to do this.  If I have to open a new account to use my Qatar credit card can I sync music purchased to my iPhone without it deleting my music from my UK iTunes account when I sync?  I've no faith at all in iTunes and don't know why they always seem to make it difficult to just spend my money with them.
    Any help gratefully received.
    Many thanks

Im pretty sure you can have more than one itunes account on your iPhone, might have to sign out of one in order to use the other(for downloading app or music probably). Although if you only mean to transfer your purchases from one account to another then I wouldn't have an answer, but most likely you can sync what you have on you're pc to you're iPhone since it has already synced with that computer previously.
    Hope this somehow helps

  • How can i transfer all my downloads from my ipod to my ipad2 if i used a different itunes account for my ipod

i am trying to find a way to transfer my Ipod music and pictures to my Ipad2. My Ipod was synced on a different computer and itunes account then my I pad2. How would i save everything without syncing it and losing everything i have?

If the music isn't purchased then you should be fine. Here is an application that will let you transfer the pictures from the iPod into iTunes on the laptop. This has been highly recommended here on this discussion site. There is a demo version that you can download to your laptop to see how you like it.

  • Sharing music from two different iTunes accounts

I have an iTunes account with purchased music which is shared across two users on my home iMac.  We can download music to various ipods with our own playlists because each user has their own login on the iMac.
With a new iPad mini, one user will be adding apps and potentially new music choices and will pay for it separately.  With a separate iTunes account, how will those purchases syncronize back to the iMac?
Will (or can) new music purchased on the mini be loaded into the Shared Music folder upon syncing?

If you mean iTunes Store accounts, there's really nothing for you to do. Just add the tracks to the iTunes library and play them. Music purchased prior to late-2009 will been to be authorized, though. Pull down Store > Authorize... and type the credentials of the Apple ID used to buy the tracks.
If you mean something else, please describe in more detail.
