Can locate my iPhone on my iPad but no maps are shown

Since installing IOS8 no maps are showing with my apps

I think I may have had an initial problem with Maps not even showing the mapping inside the app itself. But, I did a power down and powering back up again, and it worked again.
And then, after you do that, the primary question I would want answered first, is if the map shows up inside the "Maps" app itself. If it does, that's a good sign ... :-) ... from that point forward, if the Maps app shows the maps inside it, is to check each individual app after that for its own mapping function and see if all the apps that use "Maps" from the app show up the maps or don't show up the maps. If you get a mix ... in other words, some apps are showing the maps and others are not, then I would start looking at each individual app and seeing if there is a particular problem with that one app. In that event, contacting the developer may help.
Sometimes, deleting an app and then reloading it again, has cleared up some glitches from within that particular app, and I've seen that as a solution from some developers about their own apps.
Those are the things that I would do.
