Can Logic do this? (Recompression Tool, PT)

If you have a midi drum at 8th notes, you can select the region>re-compress and make it 16th even 32 notes. Can we do this?
e.g. you lay down a 130 beat 8th note, then want to add a really tight electronic fill of 32 beats.
This example can be seen on Digi's website under remixing with Pro Tools (2nd movie in).

Lets say you have a midi drum pattern at 130bpm, in PT, you can take the midi file and re-quantize it to play at double, x 2 x2 et-cetera to make a fill or play faster based on the pattern you created.

Dear all,
I have a big problem! I have all the time this icon behind my cursor. Now I just can't work with photoshop because of this icon behind my curso. I really don't know how to delete this. Perhaps it's a tool or setting but I really don't now how to turn it off. I have try it now for hours but can't find a setting. I have switch my keyboard and mouse it al doesn't help.

Are you running Mac OSX 10.6.5 or 10.6.6? If so, it's possible you're running into this problem:

If that's the case, updating your OS to 10.6.7 should fix it. Let me know if this isn't the problem.

Automate the Creation of, or Import Track Groups-Can Logic do this?

As someone contemplating jumping ship from DP after 10 years, I was wondering if Logic can automate the process of creating or adding track groups that I use regularly. For example, if I demo a song with a drum loop and then want to add live drums, I always create the same 12 tracks with the same pan, eq information when micing a drum kit. Can I create something called "drum set-up" and import it into an existing project instead of having to create (the same) 12 tracks, set all the pan info, add eqs, gates, etc...

I've often wished for a feature like this, but sadly Logic doesn't have it...
So what I do is have a folder on my basic template, and inside that folder are 12 tracks grouped together (so I can record enable'em in one click), with all appropriate plugins and settings ready to go.
That way all my songs are 'ready' for live drums, and by keeping them in a folder they don't take up to much space in my arrange page. I also sometimes use "Hide Tracks" to keep the drum folder out of the way until I may need it.
Other than that, you can fairly quickly create 12 new tracks with the little "+" icon in the arrange page. Then each track needs a click to load your fave channel strip preset for kick/snare/tom/overhead etc.
The only downer about that, in my mind, is that the channel strip presets don't include input settings and send/aux assignments. But at least you can drag-select all the tracks in the mixer and quickly give them all the same sends, so it's not too huge a pain.
Still, I've often wished for a "load channel strip(S)" button so I could import a dozen tracks in one go... Maybe Logic 10 will include this feature. (I've already given up wishing for stuff in 9).

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox 3.6 that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.

I have had this problem for close to a year. I have an Extreme base station, two Airport Express's and multiple G4 Mac's with up to date software. Hmm, that's some sort of MIDI Arpeggiator setup in your environment. Strange that you don't know it, this has to be custom-installed, it is not part of the standard setup.
You can do two things about it:
1.unlock your current screenset (shift-L), then close the (Bass Driver) window, then relock the screenset (shift-L). Next time you open up this project you won't see the Bass Driver, but it is still in the project.
2. You can remove the whole page: open the Environment (cmd-8), then go to the dropdown menu arrow top left of the Environment window and select the Bass Driver layer. If it is selected, dropdown again and choose Delete. Now Save your project under a different name (Save As...), so that you still keep the Bass Driver setup in the original project. If you don't need to keep it, you can simply Save.

You're probably on OS X Lion?
I had the same problem as you. I used Software Update to update Logic Express to the latest version, and then it ran without any problems.

Edit in iphoto 11 just duplicates the photo but won't open the edit tools. How can I fix this?

Create an action to do the crop and user the image processor to batch process your RAW files and have it use your cropping action in the process.

First try re-setting the Ruler Tool from the tool's fly-out menu.
If that doesn't do it, then trash and recreate Photoshop preferences.
If you had at least indicated your platform, I could be more specific, but here it goes anyway:
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
