Can longer USB cord be used for Mackie Control Universal Pro?

I've recently purchased *MCU Pro; Apogee Ensemble;* new *Mac Pro* and *Logic Studio*. I am about to hook up the components and load the software. I've heard there are issues/bugs. That aside...
The *MCU Pro* is on a stand with wheels. In one of its operating locations, there's about a 12-foot run to the USB port on the Mac Pro. _Is it possible or recommended to operate the Mackie Control Universal Pro with a USB cord longer than the 9.5 foot cord included with the unit from Mackie?_
Any insights into the current fixes per Mac Pro, Logic Studio, Apogee Ensemble and MCU Pro would be greatly appreciated as well.

Call Apple Care. They will either help you over the phone, or they will help you send it in for repair (it takes only a few days to do that - you usually have it back literally two or three days after you send it in)...What you are describing is something malfunctioning and that is NOT usual for a mac.

Comparing the Euphonix MC series to the Mackie Control USB, which is a better controller and a better purchase ? And which works best with Logic Pro 8 ?

EuControl now remembers which surfaces are in the My Surfaces list. This helps in facilities where other EuControl users are on your same network, as only surfaces that belong to you are added when EuControl starts. The default setting is All Surfaces, which is used when you are the only person running EuControl in your home or studio. It provides a no hassle, plug and play experience, automatically adding your surface(s) so you never have to manually edit the My Surfaces list.
MC Control users can speedily scroll through Pro Tools tracks using the jog wheel. When controlling Pro Tools, go to the Soft Key tab and assign the EuCon command Left Edit > Nudge to a soft key. Toggle this soft key on. Turn to jog wheel to nudge forward and backward through all tracks.

Improvements in knob sensitivity when controlling certain Pro Tools plug-ins. Another simplest way to do it (assuming you running Windows) is to use a Matlab script.
If both programs running on different systems:-

Pair a wireless KB with the laptop and all should be well when you attach the laptop to the iMac and invoke TDM. But as Denny mentions, it does seem like the waste of a good iMac to use it in just this configuration. Why is the laptop primary?

Transaction date will be your autoinvoice master program submission level date (If you haven't setup any logic.
Please check the program level default date, if user enter old date ststem will pick the same.
Customer is trying to set the value of the profile OM:Set receivables transaction date as current date for non-shippable lines at the responsiblity level. System does not set the transaction date to current date in ra_interface_lines_all.
CAUSE
Customer has used the functionality in R11i. But after the upgrade to R12, the system functions differently than R11i.
SOLUTION
1.Ensure that there are no scheduled workflow background process run.
2.Set the profile "OM: Set Receivables Transaction Date as Current Date for Non-Shippable Lines" at Responsibility level only as Yes.
3.Now switch the responsibility to which the profile is set.
4.Create order for Non-Shippable Lines and progress it to invoicing.
5.Ensure that the 'workflow background process' concurrent program is run in the same responsibility and this line is considered in it.
6.Now check if the 'SHIP_DATE_ACTUAL' is populated to ra_interface_lines_all

Amazon UK then perhaps? OWC/Macsales is a good place to see what products they have as they are Mac primarily and support Mac Pro of course.
the products they have will list and of course they need to work in 1x as well as 4x.
Lion has been out a year, and unlike ML or early adopters most should or will but again, look and make sure it says 10.7.4, some may say 10.6 or later - have to ask.
You can also dig around and find what chip a product uses and is based on and then shop for similar chip based.
Can we assume you need more USB ports, or you have dead USB on the Mac and not for disk drives in which case USB3 or eSATA are better but USB3 has been iffy on Macs - now that Apple has some and some support in 10.8 while CalDigit card needed drivers for theirs.

Is there anyway to make Logic not adding a Mackie Control device automatically, or anyway to bypass one that is added?
Why I'm asking is because I want to use V-Control, which uses the Mackie Control protocol, on an iPad to control MIO Console and still use Logic Remote. No Logic however always automatically add a Mackie Control, even in the same session that I delete it. Since I still want to use Logic Remote and a Korg nanoKontrol bypassing all controllers isn't helpful.
