Can LR5 libraries be viewed in older LR versions?
I have used the 30 day LR5 trial and I don't love it and prefer LR3 that I have been using for the past few years. I've created some libraries though, and want to know how I can view them if I return to using LR3 after the trial.
I didn't import the images to Lightroom, rather, I referenced them on my HD.
Do I need to export them as an older version? Or save the images in another format?

I pretty-much concur with Geoff - but in case it helps to hear it another way:
* If photos are in the Lr5 catalog but have never been in the Lr3 catalog, they'll need to be imported in Lr3.
* If photos that were in the Lr3 catalog were edited in Lr5 catalog, they won't need to be re-imported in Lr3.
In either case, having xmp will help some settings carry over (not all of them are compatible, and those that aren't compatible, won't carry over).
PS - I recommend giving Lr5 more of a chance, unless it just won't perform well enough. You can still use PV2010 if you're more comfortable with it, but you can also do some photos in PV2012 and eventually you'll get the hang of using it. Your call of course...

The OS upgrade was done by a technician so no issues there. I uploaded the current Firefox without saving my old bookmarks. I remember now that previous FF upgrades progressed without bookmark problems. Is the current problem to do with the new OS? Window size always changes after restart in 10.9.2. How can I fix it- as in older OS-Versions?

I'm using OSX for a long time. Now I bought a new MBA 10' with Mavericks 10.9.2. I'm really tired about ever changing window sizes after restarting my MBA, espacialy the sidebar is skipping to a wider size, then the window, I used before turning the mac of. No window opens, in exact that size I used before. Of course, I used to fix it, but never menaged to do so.
Have you any idea to solve my problem?Do you uncheck the "Reopen windows when logging back in?" box? If so, does the issue occur when you leave the box checked?
That might be the culprit.

Please change the view in the top sites, the 6.1 upgrade has reverted back to a plain two-dimensional view, which is a little dated. Can I revert back to an older version via my time capsule save? C'mon Apple upgrades supposed to leap into the future not the past. :-(

iOS apps will not run on a Mac. You may store backup copies of the the apps in the iTunes content libraries by syncing your iOS devices with the Mac. You can see what apps are in the content library from within the iTunes app, as well as, update the apps when available.

Downloads fail to operate i can't save or view any downloaded media files
I can not save or view any form of media from any website. The 'download window' will initiate and indicate the file is being/has been downloaded but nothing happens ie it does not get saved in the designated folder or the media players all report a failure and won't play. I am able to download all media files in IE7 . I am also having trouble with .rtf files sent via e-mails s not being read by MS office 2010 (may be a separate issue) but other file formats like .doc and .xls files open correctly.
If the files really get downloaded something must be removing them. Perhaps some security programs like anti virus or spy-ware removal tools are in action here?!
If the players reports failure and won't play please take a note of what they report caused the failure.
About the .rtf files sent via e-mail not read by MS Office 2010, can they be opened with some other viewer like Wordpad? -

If I hover over it, I can see a small view of the last screen I was working on. It won't open up full screen, what should I do. I've closed it and restarted my computer numerous times with no luck.

I had been running other email clients for years and finally switched to Firefox. All the while importing my other email folders. So I had quite a large history of email. I had been backing up my system using Acronis for years. My desktop's motherboard crashed and was not worth repairing. I pulled my desktop hard drive and turned it in a standalone drive. I re-established my email on a laptop starting from scratch using Firefox. I would like to import (if possible) the emails history that is stored on the standalone drive (formerly my old hard drive). However, the names of the mail folders on the drives are different. For example: current computer the mail folder is named garlic.com. On the standalone drive (old hard drive) there are several folders and they are named, for instance; mail.garlic.com, mail.garlic-1.com , and so forth. it goes up through garlic-4.com.
How can I pull or import these older folders into my current email folder and see all my old email archives?You are not going to be able to run your old system from the backup on this old computer as the hardware is incompatible.
You need to get a new computer or a refurbished one. -

When I posed a question on a forum, it indicates that I have one (1) view. How can I have multiple views on the same question?
I believe the number you are looking at is the number of times a particular thread has been looked at (viewed) by different users. When someone else opens your question, the view count should increase.

How can I change the view in Show Page Source from one long line to a more readable view
When using Develop --> Show Page Source in Safari 6.0.1 I get a view of the html that is just one long line. I can scroll along to the right but it is not very easy to use.
It seems to me that when I first used this feature I had a formatted view, that is the text was broken into separate lines and was easier to read.
But I think I clicked on something and it change to one line. I can't find a way to change it back.
Is anyone familiar with this? Or can point me to more information about Show Page Source formatting?

The one long line view only occurs when I'm viewing a page locally on my own computer. (When I choose Show Page Source for any page on the internet the display is formatted normally.)
So obviously if I want to see the code in my own files I can just go open them in the text editor. I used to use View Page Source (previous version of Safari) as a shortcut for a quick peek. If there is a solution to this formatting thing for local files I'd love to know it, otherwise I'll just put it on the you-can't-do-that-anymore list. -
Creating iphoto book and can't seem to view/ work on only one page at a time.
I am creating an iPhoto book and can't seem to view/work on only one page at a time. The Navigator, that allows you to focus on a part of the page is actually 1 1/2 pages in size so 1 1/2 pages are in view when trying to work on one page. What am I doing wrong or how can I fix this. It is very distracting viewing half of a previous page when trying to create a new page and write a story to go with the related pictures.
My Navigator seems to be to large. It covers 1 1/2 pages while in the training information it shows as the size of one page. Is there a way to adjust the size of the Navigator?
You can hover the mouse over the left border of the Navigator - then the cursor will turn into a resize cursor and you can drag the border and make the Navigator panel smaller by enlarging the source list.
Or drag the lower right corner of the iPhoto window and shrink the appliaction window. This will only make the navigator smaller - the source list and information panel will stay the same size.

I have created a list that groups teams by their Team name (Team column) with the individuals members (participants column) averages and their team average (total average view option). I want to only display the top five teams that have the overall
top team averages. I have a list that contains a team name, average minutes, week, and participant. The team manager plugs in each week a new entry for each participant on the team. I have a view that computes each team average but I want a view
of the top five teams based on the top averages of the team (not individual participant average). Unfortunately, I can only seem to get all teams grouped with individuals of that team, their individual averages and the team average but can't figure out
only how to show the top five teams top average. Because it's a total (team average) and not a separate column, I can't get a view by team based on total average. I can by top individual average but not by the team. Can some one help me figure
out a solution?A calculated column won't work because a calculated column can only reference the individual item, not the entire list or a subset.
You could do javascript to build this, but to me it's easier to just use Excel.
