is it true wat people say that macs are good for graphic designers but not others.
are the special features of macs which makes mac different from others beneficial for professional course students like engineering and pharmacy students?
I recently 'helped' a friend buy a PC laptop recently. For the money, we couldn't find anything with the balance of power and battery life you get in the current Macbook Pros. The machines also have excellent LCD displays. The unibody design is also unique and very strong.
Mac OS X is actually being used a lot by scientists now as apart from the usability, it has the ability do cluster computing with X-Grid.
Every other science documentary in the UK, will have geologists, geneticists, medical people, physicists with a Mac in front of them.

Lastly, as a student, if you buy from the college network (from the Apple Education Store), you get a hefty discount, plus the ability to get 3 year applecare at an incredibly cheap rate. Therefore the machine should keep you covered throughout your course. If you ever need Windows, you can always run it as a virtual machine.

No, it can't use the drive, but it can use the drive. You need a FireWire cable, plug them in to the same port on each device, and hold down the "t" key on the MacBook. The Mac mini should then see it as a hard drive. If you want to share the disc drive, on the MacBook open System Preferences, sharing, Remote Disk. In Finder, the Mac mini should see the MacBooks drive under "Remote Disc".

Yes, MlchaelLAX, the KVM switch allow one to use one monitor, one keyboard, and one mouse between two computers. It has been so long that I'm not sure how to find the MODELS to the G4 and G5. Unless you mean what makes the Mac tick. The G5 is a dual 2GHz PowerPC, with 2 GB DDR SDRAM. The G4 is a bit slower, will look tomorrow.
I want/need a newer Mac model because unlike the days before OS X, all software was included as the newer OS were added, not so today. I'm still using Tiger because I still use a couple programs from the old days. When I eventually purchase a new model, I will have to buy all new software. That's find if one has plenty of money and wants to learn everything from scratch, but I'm hanging on as long as I can.
I tried TenFourFox, but it didn't allow video, of course since I tried Michael's suggestion, the video might not be an issue. So far, every thing works the way it should.
I have a lot of faith in Mac users, their loyalties to Apple is what kept Apple floating when many thought it would sink. These folks are survivors; I only wish the apple people on the top appreciated that loyalty today, but I guess things are too good.

Can Cp4 be used to create a course with chapters?
I've been using Cp4 to create short courses or topics. The students have to open each topic as a separate CBT. Can Cp4 be used to create an overall course with separate chapters, or links, per topic?
I was considering having a student log into the overall course and then see a screen with a separate link per topic inside of that overall course. They would be able to select whichever topic they need and they don't have to necesarily take the entire course.

Erase your drive and reinstall correctly, stop messing about with incremental patches. The routine you need is BERR (backup, erase, reinstall, restore) or just stay as yu are, it is entirely up to you.

Hi, I would like to control and even file share my macmini using my macbook air... the mac mini is plugged into the family 50inch plasma... so getting access to it is not always easy! I'd like to play itunes, films, file share, just about do everything from the macbook air as if I was on and in front of the macmini... i'm hoping to do this from any country using wifi!
I've looked at screens - vnc client, but can;t find anywhere where it says I should download the app... is there a master to download to the mac mini, then waht do i download to the macbook air to enjoy control... also am i expected to download twice and pay twice?

I dropped my 17" macbook pro and the screen is broken. Can I still use it with an external monitor? When I plugged it into a monitor I had used it with before, I'm not able to see anything on the macbook screen to control it. It came on but I just got the blue screen with nothing else after typing in my password. (Didn't see the password form just assumed it was there somewhere and it did go from space to blue screen but no desktop icons, files, dock strip at top or anything else, just blank blue screen) so I can't access the system preferences.
Or can I / or how do I, transfer hard drive files to my mac mini? If not salvageable as is can I pull out the hard drive and make it an external harddrive? In otherwords is anything salvageable? It seems it's coming on I just can't access anything. BTW I was told it would cost aprox $1000 to replace the screen! I paid almost $4000 for this thing and it was running great - makes me sick to lose it!I'd like to promise you that everything will be fine if you just get the monitor going - but it's hard to know what the hardware damage might be. It might be the monitor, or the damage might be greater.
Your best solution would be visit your local Apple Store and let them know what your situation is. They have access to diagnostics you don't, and they might be able to the best way to save your data and keep you computing. It's still not covered, but they can tell you what your current options are.

Perhaps you want to refer to following Apple support documents and start tweaking parameters in the router to improve the reliability. I used to have third-party routers such as Belkin and Netgear but switched to Apple Airport routers (Time Capsule then Airport Extreme for now) because of incompatibility issues whenever Apple upgrade Mac OS X. But since Apple develops Airplay protocol as alternative to Bluetooth for wireless audio/video streaming (with much better bandwidth) and must be deployed in any wireless network, there is no reason third-party routers not working for Airplay protocol.
