Can message usage logs ever be mistaken?
I have my message usage log saying I texted a number at 10:35 PM one night when all my other logic (bank statements, etc) is telling me I didn't meet him until at least a couple of hours later. Besides human error of memory, what might be the reason for the discrepancy?

There can be many reasons why the Login is "up the creek".
Any break in the network at your end whilst logged in will cause an issue.
A sort of discrepancy between what iChat thinks the state should be and what the server thinks.
If they don't agree the server will refuse to accept.
A Crash at the server end which does not log you out properly will also do it.
Any file at any time can be come corrupted.
Luckily with the iChat .plists they are recreated if removed with an iChat Restart.
If it were AIM you can also get your Account Suspended and this will not log you in.
(It tends to happen from Chat rooms where people notify AIM about bad behaviour (as they see it) and you have to apply to get Un-suspended).
Most of the big IM services use multiple servers.
Sometimes these go out of Sync.
In the case of AIM this happens when they remove Old unused Screen Names from people's Buddy List prior to making them available for re-registration. I am not sure if this happens at Google.
You seem to be talking about an account that has worked at Work and having new computer at home.
As I mentioned the Priority thing you have not said that it has coincided with the new computer logging in (this will kick the work Computer out of Google whether you are logged in on the Web Mail page or in iChat)
IN addition to that iChat stays partially logged in for Off Line IMs
This is done in the background by a support app called iChatAgent
If your Computer is ON but ichat is not started people can still send you Messages.
Instead of saving these on the server until you login iChat will start up.
Depending if the home Mac is effecting the Work Login it may be holding sway over your Login.
Using your girlfriend's login may have booted her Off Line where she normally uses the name/login.
The AIM Side can be specifically set to allow Multiple Logins and therefore NOT allow them. If this happens you get a warning and messages to do something about it.
You do not get these in any Jabber or Google Login as the Priority setting is supposed to take care of it.
If the Login works at the Web Mail Login and on one computer then the .plist on the work computer is the most likely issue.
There is a small chance that a Corrupt Buddy Pic (Home Folder/Library/Caches/com.apple.iChat/Pictures) may be the cause.
Set this folder to icon view and also use the Finder's View Menu > Show View Options and select icon view.
This should show all pics as their icon.
Check that all display properly.
At this point I would try a COMBO version update install of the last Update you did over what you have.
This often corrects hard to trace things

Firstly you DO NOT have to do a factory reset / wipe device, it is simply not required to get the space back!!
Mine had 3GB and I just got rid of it all, here is how:
METHOD ONE:
Make a backup in iTunes
open iBackupBot (Google it)
Go to the relevant backup
Click on Multimedia File Manager and click on the other Multimedia files tab
Sort by filename by clicking the Filename tab
Find MediaDomain/Library/SMS/Attachments and highlight all of them, then press delete. You can also click to export to a folder of your choice, if you want to save them that is.
Then go to System Files>MediaDomain>Library>SMS>Attachments
They will be all listed here, highlight them all and press delete
Then just restore that backup using iTunes!
Tadaa! Space recovered, your messages are still there but without the attachments! METHOD TWO:
Backup your device in iTunes and then to iCloud
Go to Settings>iCloud and toggle Documents & Data to OFF
Then do a 2nd backup to iTunes and iCloud
Then restore the device from iCloud and the message attachments should be gone, turn Documents & Data back on again in the settings
PLEASE NOTE: Method two is a much longer process but some users may feel more comfortable with this method.
P.S You may want to make two backups in case you get any of the above steps wrong, but it is simple to follow the above and not do anything wrong!
P.P.S You could also just go through every single conversation and delete the attachments one by one, but if you have hundreds or thousands of attachments, this will take a VERY LONG TIME!!! -
I noticed yesterday that Console has ben enabled/started on my IMac G4 running OS 10.5. My understanding in doing research this morning is that Console is used to track usage logs......my question is does/can it track actual IM's through Yahoo? Or just indicate that a conversation took place? Or something less than that?
It always runs in the background, but you will see it only when you invoke it throughUser>Applications>Utilities>Console. You may have clicked on it by mistake. Just close it and remove it from the Dock, doing that won't hurt anything.

Can anybody help me to understand the CPU usage logs

I try to find the faulty machine in our network, but I don`t understand the logfiles. We have many servers which normally work very fast and reliable.
But sometimes we have such a huge cpu usage drain on our server. Nobody knows where it comes from, so I looked in the vsphere web client and looked in the cpu usage logs.
Following you can see two pictures. One is from the main host. It shows only a cpu usage of a maximum of 45 %.
When I look on the vmware machines I can see a cpu usage of more than 150%.
This is something I completely not understand. How is it possible that the main host machine has only a 45% cpu usage and the clients are exploding?
I don`t have set a cpu usage limit in our resource pool.
The next thing is. When I look on the vmmachines, I can not identify the faulty machine. Because when one machine increases the cpu usage many others increase too. Whatever why.

PaulYou don't have any need to understand this code. The complication is due to the registry needing a fixed objectID.
You just need to know the methods of java.rmi.registry.LocateRegistry class. This allows you to start an RMI Registry inside your JVM and give it any TCP port number you like. -

My messaging usage for 1 of 4 lines is 5 days behind the others. Can anyone explain?
I have 4 lines for our wireless account. When I check usage, 3 of the lines are up to date, but the 4th is 5 days behind on message usage. It seems like this has happened to others. Any solutions?
iMessages won't show up on your My Verizon usage reports since they go through the Apple servers, not Verizon's.

Printing messages in Log File and Output File using Dbms_output.put_line

I have a requirement of printing messages in log file and output file using dbms_output.put_line instead of fnd_file.put_line API.
Please let me know how can I achieve this.
I tried using a function to print messages and calling that function in my main package where ever there is fnd_file.put_line. But this approach is not required by the business.
So let me know how I can achieve this functionality.

Here are some suggestions for getting the best results from this site.

I certainaly did not turn connection logging on but the effect was disastrous. Mail would not respond as long as there was a slow connection. I figured this out through turning off all network connections and watching Mail spring back to life and let me search my messages.
Normally if a connection is slow to respond, mail just lets the slow connection do it's thing while everything else operates largely unhindered.With connection logging turned on, your Mail app is a slave to the slowest connection to a mail server (I have 8 total)
I had to crash mail over and over again to do a simple search of my messages until I happen to notice that this connection logging was turned on. I found this thread, turned it off, now Mail works as well as it ever has (very buggy but usable)
How dare Apple do that behind my back!? After all the problems there are Mail, they have the gall to turn on logging and reduce Mail to unusable?

I'm new to LabView and i'm finding it extremely challenging, mainly due to data types.
Firstly I need my project to save all CAN messages.
Secondly I need to inspect the ArbitationID and act on it accordingly (some resulting in a CAN write)
Then I need to file the data accordingly and show some data on the GUI
Usign the single read I can convert the CAN message inc timestamp to a string and save it but if i try and convert it to a cluster for manipulatuion all I get is the 8 bytes of data
If I use the multi CAN read I can't break the 5 elements within a cluster within an array down to save the message
Any thoughts?

Go to Solution.I've seen much worst code, but you are making several mistakes that I think make things more difficult.
When you perform the read your output is an array of frames. Each Frame is a cluster of 5 things, Timestamp, ArbID, IsRemote, Data Length, and the Data. The Array to Cluster function you are using is not the one you should use. That will take an array and turn it into clusters, but you must define the size and it defaults to 9, so what happens if you get 10 frames in a read? The last one is lost for ever. All reads that read more then 9 frames will lose the ones after the 9th. Additionally what happens if you have no frames? Well it converts it into 9 frames that are blank, but you go and log those anyway.
What you really need to do is process each frame one at a time, looking at the output and then deciding what to do. This can easily be done in a For loop. A For loop will pull out each frame one at a time and allow you do do stuff with it and manipulate it in a way that makes sense, or conditionally log different data to different files.
Attached is an edited version that will process each frame, and depending on the ArbID will write to one of 3 files. If the ArbID is between 0 and 0x12 it goes to one file, from 0x13 through 0x200 it goes to another, and then all other frames go to a 3rd file. I also updated the format into the file to be a little cleaner and I think it will contain the same information in a tab delimeted file. This is of course an example I have no idea what you really need your program to do.

LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC Error message through Log .

I'm working on a BADI LE_SHP_DELIVERY_PROC inside the method FILL_DELIVERY_ITEM. I have to show an error message over here. If i passed like MESSAGE e000(zless) WITH text-006 text-007 it is displaying message but it is come out from the layout of the transaction in scope.
Te be more specific, when the pop up of message comes out and after that the user click on the "Exit" button, the system should go back on the previous layout of the report to allow the user making another selection.
I'm using Vl10D transaction.
Now I'm trying to generate the error message through log by CT_LOG internal table . I have to block the deliveries whichever is creating through this transaction. If for a particular STO there are different loading points then I need to block the deliveries.
I'm trying to block the current delivery using IS_LIKP-LIFSK = 'X' and also I need to block the previous delivery IT_XLIKP-LIFSK = 'X'.
strange thing is happening with STO which has 2 deliveries are getting created (because error msg is not getting tirggered thorugh log), though I have blocked the deliveries.
Could you please let me know how can i populate this error message through log as well as I can block the deliveries?

To lock the delivery, see Note 198137 - VL10: Customer-specific enhancements / user exits and use this userexits. To populate the log I think that using the structure CT_LOG in the BADI is OK. Check when are called the userexit and BADI.

Can no longer log in to my computer
I searched but did not see this problem. I also posted this question the networking forum and i asked that it be removed as this seems like a better place for it.
I have 3 iMacs and several PC's in my signshop and we are bound by AD to the main PC serer and we connect via DHCP. One particular shared user can no longer log into her user from any of the iMacs. She just gets the shaking password window. But she can log into her shared user from any of the PC's. And we can all log into our shared users from her iMac.
Thins we have tried.
1. changed her password and that did not work.
2. renewed DHCP and that did not work.
3. disabled and re-enabled her acount and that didn't work.
Any advice? I will check this from work tomorrow if you need any info from the PC IT geeks

With the 10.5.3 update, I have had stable logins/binding to AD from May 30th, when I applied the update to my 'image' client until this morning (6/20/08).
My setup is public labs in university. Mac clients use netboot for imaging and I have one OD Master server controlling client admistration (login window messages, etc.) All network accounts are via AD (MS Server 2003) with 3 Domain Controllers.
Could you please be a little more descriptive on some of your suggestions? for example:
Before you bind: #2 -- Make sure a reverse zone is populated.
Populated where? On the DC or the client?
Before you bind: #4 - Make sure round-robin ...
Where? On the DC or the client?
Before you bind: #7. Set a simple name in sharing...
This is good for individual client setup. I have a situation where I create one master image and push this master image via netboot out to the clients. All of my clients bind to AD with the same computer name, but the clients themselves have individual local host names.
If failure occurs: #1 - Use dscl to try and browse the domain.
On the DC or client?
If failure occurs: #3 - Use dirt to hammer the directory
Not sure if my AD sys admins would appreciate this without forewarning! I would appreciate any insight you could give to my questions as I am building new images for Fall 08 semester now and would love to deploy Leopard, but will not until I am positive Leopard/AD autentication is stable.
