Can Microsoft Access run on MAC

Hi,
I'm making the switch from PC to MAC, but I need to know if Microsoft access can run on a MAC platform? Any help?

Not outside of Boot Camp, or a Windows emulator, or a product such as CrossOver Mac.

Running Windows or using a suite such as Libre Office. It is similar to Office 2007 for Windows, but runs on a Mac, and contains a database manage that is Access compatible.

How can I use Microsoft Access on my Mac Pro?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Microsoft Access isn't available for OS X, so you can't use it. If you need it, you have to install Windows on a virtual machine.
On a virtual machine, you can install the Windows version you most like and the Access version you need, so you won't have any problem using it. You just need a full Windows version with its DVD or ISO image and product key, and an application like Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox to create the virtual machine. If you want to save money, System Builder versions are cheaper and you can find them at Amazon or NewEgg.
As you have a Mac Pro, I suppose you won't have any problem using a 64-bit version, but it's important you have enough memory. Open  > About this Mac, and check how much memory you have. I recommend 4 or 8 GB of memory at least.
After installing Windows on the virtual machine, you will be able to install Access there.
There are applications for OS X that allow you to run Windows applications without having to install Windows. Those apps often fail, so I don't recommend you to use them

  • Microsoft Access on a Mac

I’m look to buy a new laptop and I think I’m going to buy a Mac. I see that I can run Microsoft word and excel but can I run Microsoft Access on a Mac?

MacBig is correct... You can install Windows on a separate partition on the Mac's hard drive. You can then boot into Windows and install any of your PC software to use (including Access). I use Access on my MacBook Pro and it works perfect. I also use Flight Simulator X and it works great.
When you turn on your MacBook, you can choose to boot into Windows or Mac OS X. If you buy Parallel's software, you can boot into Mac OS X and then run Windows (and Access) in a separate window within your Mac operating system (have both operating systems running at the same time).

  • Is there a version of Microsoft Access for the Mac computer

I was wondering if there was a version of Microsoft Access for the Mac computer.  Most of the databases I have on my old computer are in Access and I need to be able to open them on my new Mac Book.

Full Disclosure as per Apple Support Communities terms and Conditions: I am affiliated with the site linked to in this response.
Although Access for Mac isn't available, there are some apps which allow you to open Access databases on Mac. They don't allow you to access forms, reports and VBA modules but they do allow you to visualize the data. Although this isn't perfect, they're far easier and cheaper than having to install Windows on your Mac and then install Access if you only need to view Access databases.
Which one you use really depends on what you need to do. They can be summarized as:
MDDB ACB Viewer - Probably the best of the lot as it open both old and new Access files and exports to Apple Numbers
MDB Tool - Very simple to use but not for Access 2010+
MDB Explorer - Exports to SQLLite but requires an upgrade for Access 2007+ files
ACCDB MDB Explorer - Very limited editing of databases but supports multiple ACCDB databases
MDB Lite - Only works with Access 2003 files but very easy to use
Hope this helps as a basic overview of the main tools available but if you you can find a more in-depth look at Access for Mac software here.

  • Can you run a program that uses Microsoft Access on a Mac?

    Hi,
I'm relatively new to Mac so pardon any ignorance...
I want to run a program called LTV on my Mac and it's based on Microsoft Access - I have installed the latest Microsoft for Mac on here and just realised for some reason it doesn't include Access - why not?
I tried to open LTV and it told me I should get the MDB extension from the app store. I did that, but the interface for the program is whack compared to what it looks like on a PC.
Any suggestions or background to this issue?
    Thanks.

You could always install Parallels and run Access under Windows?

  • Just updated to osx, can't access quicken for Mac anymore

I just uploaded OSX to my I-Mac. I like the upgrade but it does not support quicken for Mac 2007 and suddenly I cannot access it. I can purchase quicken essentials for Mac but need to know how I can access the old records and transfer them to the new program. The new upgrade will not open the old files. Do I need to remove the upgrade first?

Quicken has an upgrade for Qicken that will run on a Mac. It is not Quicken Essentials, as far as I know.

  • Can't access mail in .mac program

Please help!!! As of 2 days ago, when I go to mac.mail program, I can't access any mail in inbox. I can go through the apple/mac program to see my mail. When I go into mail, it just shows an empty box. I can't get into any of the other folders either. And when I want to close mail, I have to force quiet. Any suggestions? I am sitting here in Yemen and have no access to Apple help.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

I don’t fully understand what you say. What are the “mac.mail” and the “apple/mac” programs? Are you saying that you have a .Mac account and that it works fine on the web, but Mail has some problems? Or do you mean something else?
How many mail accounts do you have what type are they (POP, IMAP, .Mac)?

  • Can't access EA3500 in Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)

Just fired up my new iMac this afternoon and *whoa* when I try to access my router (EA3500) via IP address, I can get to the login screen, but after entering my password, all I get is the spining dots.

  • Can't access password protected .Mac Web Gallery

Safari is my primary browser. I have been creating web galleries using iLife '08 and my .Mac account and then viewing them with Safari for the past month or so with no trouble. This weekend I tried creating a password protected web gallery and it won't load in Safari. The gear icon just spins forever and has timed out when I have left it alone long enough. My other web galleries continue to load just fine. Clicking on the link from within iPhoto for my password protected gallery doesn't work, typing the url into Safari doesn't work, going to my gallery index and clicking on the icon of the "locked" gallery doesn't work, etc. I can still view all of my other web galleries, but this one that I'm trying to protect just won't load.
This actually appears to be a Safari problem. I don't get a dialog asking for User Name and Password. The url works just fine using Firefox on my Mac, and it also works on a PC running Windows XP. When using something other than Safari, I get the prompt for User Name and Password that I would expect. Upon entering that information, everything looks normal and works just fine.
Tsk tsk Apple! Safari shouldn't be having trouble displaying protected .Mac web galleries. Sheesh!

Just wanted to let you know that I have the EXACT SAME problem, except it is affecting my password protected iWeb site and my Gallery. I can view it from Firefox, so that is the web browser I am using now. I sent a bug report to Apple, and I also send them a request for help using e-mail, but so far I have gotten no response. Hopefully someone is working on the fix?

  • Can microsoft access can be transport into Adobe flash?

I have a program that I am using in access format, but there is a new program which is using Adobe flash format that I will use where I want to transport  the access format that I have. Is that possible at any way please let me know.

That depends. Unless you want to run Office for Windows in a VM running Windows or in Boot Camp, you'll need to find an alternative. Office for the Mac does not include Access.
There are several alternatives including Open Office that may suit your needs without resorting to running Windows and Office for Windows. You'll have to be the judge of that.
I use VirtualBox running a copy of Windows and Office for Windows because it's impossible for me to break completely away from things that require it due to my job. It's never really given me any trouble.
At one point, I was using VMware fusion on a 17" iMac with 2GB of RAM running 3 VMs of Windows XP with Office simultaneously, each VPN'd into a different client network. Worked like a charm.
