Can mini run lightroom?
Does anyone have a Mac Mini running lightroom with OnOne plugins well?
Hi James:
Thaks for your help, but I´m not a specialist on Visual C++, Can you tell me how can I proceed?, What I must clean on registry? All about Lightroom and re-install again, or only about msvc80.dll?.
Thanks again

Download the newest DNG converter from Adobe, convert your RAW photos to DNG, and then Import into Lightroom.

Can I run Lightroom 5 on an iPad2? or do I need Lightroom Mobile for that?
I just upgraded to Lightroom 5. About to take an extended photo trip to Africa. I've been offered the use of an iPad2 so I don't have to carry my laptop with me - only thing is, I want to be able to use Lightroom on it. Anyone know if it's possible to put Lightroom on an iPad2? Or do I need the mobile version of Lightroom? And is that a separate purchase?
You can't run Lightroom on an iPad; it is an OS X application not an iOS application.
Lightroom Mobile requires an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. Do you have that? It's not available if you purchased the standalone version of Lightroom. -
Can you run Lightroom off an external hardrive?
I need to get a new laptop and am considering buying a HP Stream 14. It has only got 32GB of storage on it offline so relies on cloud storage mainly. I will have an external hardrive too though.
Will I be able to run Lightroom on this? I don't mind if all my files are up in the sky but I don't want to get this if I won't be able to continue to use Lightroom to process photos. My apologies, I'll try and explain myself a bit better.
My main question is; is there anyway for me to get and use Lightroom on the HP Stream if it only has 32GB of storage on it (let's say I had nothing else on it so the full 32GB is available for Lightoom if necessary). I can put the photos and catalogue on the external harddrive no problem but it's the programme itself and running it that I am worried about. I'm not sure if an SSD is compatible with the HP Stream (don't honestly know what it is, actually!) so maybe give me an answer if I a) couldn't use an SSD and b) could.
I'd really like this laptop but there isn't much point in me getting it if I can't use Lightroom on it. But in order to do so I don't mind buying some extra storage devices or storing photos or the catalogue wherever necessary.
Here's the specs for the HP Stream in case they are of any use;
Windows 8.1 64
AMD Quad-Core A4 micro-6400T
35.6 cm (14") diagonal HD BrightView display
2GB DDR 3 Memory and 32GB eMMC storage
Ultra thin, fanless design perfect for computing on the go
And here's the link to HP's site on it;

Can´t run Lightroom
Hi to all:
I,m Carlos, from Spain, and since one week I have a problem with Ligtroom:
Since a blue screen on Windows Vista, when I was launching Lightroom 1.3.1, if I try to launch again an error occurs:
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Lightroom.exe
If I re-install and run Lightroom 1.3 or 1.4 it crashes again, but if I re-install 1.1 or 1.2 versions it runs OK.
Windows says that I have an error on MSVCR80.dll
What can I do?
Thanks in advance

Can I run lightroom 3 off a 32 bit windows xp?
If so how???, im having problems with it being very slow, any help greatly appreciated
AndreaIMO the specs of your PC are very much on the low side for LR3:
your AMD Sempron 1.6GHz is a single-core CPU which AMD advertises as 'Affordable performance for everyday computing' - sorry but LR3 is not everyday computing. You would definitely benefit from a faster, multi-core CPU.
2GB RAM - that's the minimum system requirement for LR3 (only for the application), add to that the RAM the OS uses and you will end up with at least 3GB. The OS will start to swap when it runs out of physical memory - and with your total 2GB of RAM that will start to happen quite soon when you use LR3.
..but I need it for my work,so what can I do????!!!!
if you need LR3 professionaly then I'm sorry to say but you will need a faster PC...I would go for a 64-bit Windows 7-PC with dual- or quad-core CPU and 6GB RAM -
Question: Can I run Lightroom on windows XP?
Just downloaded lightroom. To my surprise, Windows XP is not listed as a qualifying syastem under System Requirements. Will Lightroom run using Windows XP Service Pack 3?
If you mean Lightroom 4, the answer is NO. (You need Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8)
If you mean Lightroom 3 or earlier, the answer is YES. -

The specs for Lightroom state that you need a Pentium 4 processor. My PC has an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU @ 2.2Ghz. Is this sufficient?

OS X 10.9.2 (13C1021Hi Rikk, thanks,
yes I just tried all those suggested solutions but they didn't work, actually I don't have that folder structure that they're saying... (/Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist), my library folder is not there, is in HDname/Library and anyway it doesn't contain those files. -
Can I run Lightroom 4 under Windows XP
I have downloaded a trial copy of Light 4 and on completeion It has told me it is not suitable for XP how do I convert please?
Branching this to a separate discussion.
Santorini92 you will need to upgrade your operating system. Lightroom 4 requires Windows Vista or later. Please see http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.html for more details. -
How can I change the Apple ID on a iPad mini running OSX 8
A family member would like to begin to use his Apple ID now on his own iPad WiFi mini running the new OSX 8. Under the Settings, iCloud we cannot find a way to switch from my Apple ID to his Apple ID which was opened with the purchase of his iPhone 5C a few months ago. When we select the "Edit" option only the name of the Apple ID can be changed, not the iCloud email address. Is there a way of signing out of the current ID and signing in with the one we want to replace the old ID with?
To change the iCloud ID, you have to go to Settings>iCloud and tap Sign Out (at the bottom). When you do you will get an option to keep a copy of the iCloud data on your device. Choose to do so if you need to migrate the data to the new account. On a Mac, you go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, then sign back in with the new ID.
To change the ID for other services (iMessage, FaceTime, iTunes Store, etc.), you tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID. -
Can I run a mxo2 mini and a BMD intensity pro on the same mac pro?
Hi to everyone,
I have a strange question to you: Can I run a Matrox MXO2 mini and a Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro on the same Mac Pro?
That's because I find more versatile using a MXO2 with editing software (I have an AVID MC 5.5.3 and I don't want to update it to 6 yet) and I'd like to begin to use DaVinci Resolve from Blackmagic Design which, of course, functions only with their cards. My goal is to output Resolve to my FullHD CRT instrumental monitor without spending the money to upgrade AVID for now, I'm fine with 5.5.3.
I won't use them togheter but alternatively as you can easily imagine.
thanks
best regards,

On the mac mini 2011 how can I run windows 7pm bootcamp without an optical drive. I watch lots of football on sop cast and other such windows based programmes but can't work out how to do it.
Actually Windows can be installed and booted from an external drive if the drive is connected eSATA (external SATA), since the drive is treated as if it's an internal HDD. I used the same method previously to dual-boot from 2 different HDD instead of partitioning.
Most PC motherboards come with them as standard so it's pretty much plug and play but I don't recall seeing a recent Mac with eSATA connectivity though, so that might not be an option for you. -
The 2012 Mac Mini's are listed on this article. Can I run windows 7 64-bit on it and/or the 32-bit?
I would buy nothing less than Windows 7 64-bit Pro.
32-bit only addresses 3.5 GB RAM ... 2012 Macminis can hold 16 GB.
64-bit Home addresses 16 GB RAM.
64-bit Pro addresses 192 GB RAM and han an XP mode.
This is all about having a good version of Windows for future use. Yu can buy "Syem Builder" version of 64-bit Pro for $140.
