Can movies be uploaded in Photo Stream?

Can movies made on iPhone, iPad or any camera be uploaded to Photo Stream?
I took a move with iPhone and it did not upload. Then I pushed movie from iPhoto to Photo Stream and it did not upload.
Thanks

Sj,
Those are really red herrings all.  The storage issue is the same whether you sync the videos over a USB cable or OTA, nichts wahr?!?
And besides, Aperture is designed to have limitless library sizes; in fact, an Aperture library can span MULTIPLE physical drives, so your storage argument doesn't hold water.
Now your argument regarding the syncing from the compluter to the iOS device is a sound one, but Apple has already addresed it by only keeping the last 1000 photos synced in the photostream; they could have done something similar for videos.
Lastly, the 5G of storage only applies to your email, documents, and camera roll:
Your purchased music, apps, books, and TV shows, as well as your Photo Stream, don’t count against your free storage. Since your mail, documents, Camera Roll, account information, settings, and other app data don’t use as much space, you’ll find that 5GB goes a long way.
My real point and main question is why didn't apple at least give us the option of choosing to wirelessly sync our home-made videos like everything else.

How can I move a file from photo stream to an event in iPhoto?

Select photo stream on the left panel in iPhoto, then drag and drop the photo from photo stream to Events on the top left under Library.  If you then want to move it to a specific event in your library, click on Events, locate the photo and drag and drop it on the event you want to add it to.

If you delete them from the Photo Stream folder on your device they will also be deleted from Photo Stream in iCloud and your other devices.  You can delete them from Camera Roll to free up space.  However, Photo Stream only stores up to 1000 photos for 30 days (not permanently).  If you want to save your photos permanently, a better solution is to import them to your computer by following this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  You can then choose the option to delete them from your device after importing to free up space.  If you still want some of these photos on your device, you can put them in a folder on your computer and then sync them back to your device by selecting to do so on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings.

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
    1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
    2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
    1. Right click images you want to share.
    2. Select Export version.
    3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
    4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
    See how you go.

  • Can i load pictures into photo stream?

can i load pictures into photo stream?

There are a different ways to do this:
    - Open the photos one at a time and take a screenshot.  This will add a new low resolution copy of the photo to the camera roll, which will then upload to your photo stream.
    - Email the photos a few at a time to yourself, then save the attached photos to your camera roll.  This will add a copy of the photo at full resolution to your camera roll (if you choose to send them as Actual Size) and upload to photo stream.
    - Use an app like PhotoSync, which will allow you to wirelessly transfer copies of all your old photos to your computer all at once.  Then delete these photos from your camera roll and use PhotoSync to transfer them back from your computer to your camera roll.  These will be the original resolution and will upload to your photo stream.  (You need an App like this because iTunes will not transfer photos back to your camera roll, where they must be in order to add to your photo stream).

  • Slow uploads to Photo Stream via iPhoto

Photos I upload to Photo stream from my Mac (from a DSLR camera) always upload very slowly. They're big images, 2-4 meg, so I would expect them to be slower than from my iPhone, but literally they can take 2-3 minutes each. Anybody know if that's normal? If so, why? If not, any suggestions? Thanks.

Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream. Then add photos to the PS again.

  • New photos taken with my iPhone 4s are not being uploaded to photo stream...

Last weekend I tool a few photos with my iPhone and they were uploaded to photo stream as soon as I connected to wifi. I was able to see them on my iPad and MacBook Pro as sooon as I opened iPhoto...
Today I took a few more but they were not uploaded to photo stream when I connected to wifi... I reset photo stream and now it will not update...
I havent really changed any settings on my iPhone... What can I do???

Me too, I'm looking for help for that kind of problem.
Two months ago, I posted this:
    hello,
Once Icould control panel is opened on my computer, how can I send the files from my phone ? Because they are not coming by themselves.
When I click on "Manage", I do see a back up made made in end 2013. How can I access to it from my computer ?
And another question: In "photo stream options", when they say: "...and upload photos you add to your photo stream from this computer", the upload is only for photos which are inside the Icloud folder "photo stream", right ?
If there is a photo on desktop or in "my pictures", it won't be uploaded ? Because I share my pc with someone and I don't want other things end up on my Iphone.
    Thank you for you help.

More than likely you can get the phone back by doing a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.

This is all just a partial answer since details will depend upon how you want to do it.

Commercial software utility for transferring songs from i-device to Mac - http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/

You'll need to get it all onto one iTunes collection on your Mac Pro, then sync the devices to that.  iTunes only lets you transfer purchases from a device, otherwise you have to use third party software.
I guess you could also look into getting iTunes Match.

  • Moved iPhoto to external HD now photos won't upload to Photo Stream

I moved iPhoto to an external HD connected to my iMac and now Photo Stream says it is uploading photos but nothing is happening.
After moving iPhoto (and selecting the new location as the default by holding down the Option key when opening the app) I added some photos by dragging them from Finder to iPhoto Library Photos.  I then dragged them from Library Photos to Photo Stream and all appeared to be fine.   However after an 2 hours it still says "Uploading 140 photos" but no photos are moving to the Photo Stream folder.
    Any help would be appreciated!

Quit out of iPhoto, relaunch and try again.  Also the following may help:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. See if that willjump start the upload to Photo Stream.

  • *sometimes* photos won't upload to photo stream

Ever since updating to iOS 6 I've been having problems with photo stream.
Sometimes I take a photo on my iphone 4s - it appears in my camera roll - but it doesn't upload to photo stream, even though I am fully connected to wi-fi.
Then I take another photo, and all of a sudden that second photo uploads to photo stream, but the first one still doesn't.
Sometimes I'll be out and about taking dozens of photos. When I return home and connect to wi-fi my photos don't upload to my photo stream. Other times they do.
It's very temperamental and difficult to figure out why.
I have photostream turned on in icloud. I have recently restored my iphone to factory settings in an attempt to resolve the issue, but to no avail. When I experience these problems there's never an issue with internet connection - browsing on safari works perfectly well.
Any thoughts? Does anyone have the same problems?

Thanks JBJ612. I'm the same. If I go to my friends house and connect to his wi-fi my photos upload normally.
I've tried resetting my wi-fi. I've tried renewing the wi-fi lease on my iPad, and I've tried forgetting the network and reconnecting, but nothing works.
It must be an iOS problem. I hope apple fixes this soon.
