Can muliple DVD scene paths be created in a template

Hello all,
I am trying to edit some of the DVD menu templates. Is there a way to have a Scene button, then have like an Extras button and have them point to different second level menus? I know the typical Scene button will create or enable additional scene pages as you add markers, but I want to multiple sections on my DVD menu. Can anyone tell me if I can do this with Premiere Elements 8?

The solution is to put all of the clips on the same timeline, but include a stop marker at the end of each segment. At the stop
marker, the DVD will return to the main menu.

Can I add forms I've created to the Templates tab?

I currently have 44 'base forms' that I then duplicate to create the forms for each event, however because there is no filing structure in My Forms, I now have well over 100 forms in there!
We'll soon be using FormsCentral Team and those forms will multiply dramatically.
It would be great if either:
a) There was a folder/filing structure in My Forms
b) I could save and organise the base forms to Templates and remove the Adobe designed ones
I love Adobe Forms - it's changed the way we do things so much, but this is a real concern as it will soon be utterly overwhelming to manage the forms I have.

Outline path to create an outline that includes the rounded edge?

In illustrator CS6 I have a line with a rounded endpoints. When I try to OUtLINE PATH - it will clip off the rounded edge -- as if I'm asking AI to outline a path with a non-rounded edge. How can I get outline path to create an outline that includes the rounded edge? Many thanks!

It sounds like something that may require something from this list.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Assuming those are all closed paths:
Select the two circles of the front wheel. Object>CompoundPath>Make.
Do the same for the rear wheel.
Do the same for the two paths defining the body and the "hole" rear of the engine.
Select all the paths. Pathfinder>Click (CS4) or AltClick (CS3) the Add To Shape Area button.

Why is the formatting missing from my html page created from a template?

Hi All!
Hope you can help me.
I've created a new template in dreamweaver - all good. When I preview the template page in a browser everything looks perfect.
But when I create a new html page from that template, even though the page looks perfect in design view, all the formatting is missing when I preview it in a browser.
The site settings were relative to the site root and I've changed that to be relative to the document (not sure if that should make a difference). Either way, it hasn't changed anything.
Any ideas?

If you have not enabled "Preview using temporary files" in your PREFERENCES then site root relative links will fail on preview. Why? Because site root relative links *always* begin with "/", and when the browser sees that, it (since it knows nothing about Dreamweaver sites) correctly looks for the path starting from the root of your hard drive, not the root of the DW site. When you enable preview using temp files, before handing the file to the browser, DW obligingly converts all root relative links to document relative links (which *will* work on preview) but to do that it must create a temporary file (there are other things that happen as well, like external files being embedded in the code for the preview, but that is not relevant to this discussion). The reason a temp file is created is so that these changes don't affect your saved file.
So, if you want to use site root relative links, and do previews of your pages, you must enable the temporary files in preview. There is really no downside to doing this except that you may occasionally see a curious file named xzys139(.html in your local file list - this is a temporary file that was handed to the browser for preview, and for whatever reason was not deleted. In fact, this can save your bacon sometimes because it gives you a 'backup' of that page to which you can revert in the event of something catastrophic.
In the larger picture, there is no benefit to using site root relative links UNLESS you are also using server-side includes. It will make your life a bit simpler if you do not use them.
Finally, having made those links in your template file with the site root relative option enabled, changing that option to document relative will only affect NEW links, not existing ones. This is why Ken asked to see the link in your template - it's because he knows that even though you have made the option change, that old link will not be affected and will therefore fail on preview (assuming you have not enabled the temp file thing).

How can I make the paths visible in a composite pattern created via the Swatch Palette?

I created a swatch, used it to make a large composite pattern. I can't find the paths. They are needed so that
a laser cutter can follow them for production. What am I missing?

Try selecting everything with the pattern and use Expand (or Expand Appearance, which ever is available) from the object menu. You might need to cleanup quite a lot depending on how you constructed the paths in the original pattern tile.

Do you mean a slideshow in iPhoto '11 on your Mac?

How can I valid the path in different devices

I wrote a program using the PDA module months ago, I was now told to modify to make it robust in the sense that, the program with ‘run’ in any PDA.
There are several directories that are common with PDA’s, such as Storage, Storage Card, SD Card, MMC-SD Card e.t.c.
I previous used a Build Path to create the path I wanted that looked like this:
"Storage Card/S345220107.txt" where S345 is the user id and 220107 is the date from a time stamp VI.
What I want to do is to find a way of knowing what directory a PDA has somehow.
An algorithm of it will look some thing like this:

path[0] = "Storage Card"
path[0] = "SD Card"

I will use a For Loop to set the path, but what I don’t know is how to test each one.
In Java I can say:

I created the VI you sent, and for the first version, when there is a Match, it does not place the found folder name in the Start Path or the Current Path Indicators. So the path created is not correct
I then tried a second version called PathSearch1Vi and added a few things for it to do what I wanted. Please run both and see if the second version is OK or what should be added to the first version.

How can i get the path to config folder placed inside the jar file?

Hi i have developed an RCP application using eclipse.
In my application config directory is there.
When i export my RCP application as JNLP Project the jar file is created which contains config folder inside it.
When i download the application using java web start , how can i get the path to config folder placed inside the jar file?
Will the config folder exists in local cache in my system?
Help needed.

Copying home DVD videos, editing, and creating new DVDs

Here is the situation:
I have the 17" and this is my first Mac to own. I am computer literate with most my experience on Windows and Linux.
That being said, I am trying to edit home videos; but they are already on DVDs. I got a LiteOn DVD/VCR combo recorder for my entertainment center. I have a camcorder that uses Hi-8 media and it is only able to use S-video/composite outputs (no USB or Firewire). I am using the LiteOn recorder to archive all my videos to DVDs because it has composite inputs. The LiteON has hardly any editing capability. So I want to take the "simple" DVDs I made, copy them to my HD, edit them (to cut out junk, create better menus, and give it as nice touch), and create new DVDs to distribute to my family and to get rid of old tapes.
So in short, the process I want to do on the Mac is:
1. Copy my family home DVDs
2. Edit the video.
3. Create more "creative" DVDs for my family.
I have been looking around the website and reading posts and I don't see how to do this. I did try to create an image on disk utility, but it failed for whatever reason (maybe I am missing a step). How can I accomplish the three steps above?

If these are true, standard video DVDs that the drive creates, there are a number of utilities that can extract and convert the videos for use in editing applications. A couple of utilities that people have reported success with are DVDxDV, Cinematize, and MPEG Streamclip (MPEG Streamclip is freeware but requires that you have Apple's QuickTime MPEG2 Playback Component), and there are no doubt others.
Once extracted, you can use iMovie to edit the clips and iDVD to burn them to a new DVD. Then you can use Disk Image or a third-party application such as Roxio's Popcorn to make additional copies.

Scenes are just for authoring convenience, they basically
blank frames giving an end to one
and beginning to another timeline so you can't actually
define scene like you could a movie clip.
What you can do however is to Copy frames by unlocking all
the layers, highlighting all the frames
and CTRL ALT C than open new file and paste the frames CTRL
ALT V
That's the only way to share the scene.
