Can my data be recovered or preserved if I didn't backed it up on my cloud for a simple battary replacement?
My ipod can no longer charge or even sync to my PC. So far it needs a new port drive, but I read that my data can't be saved if I take it to repaire. What if I get simply get a new battary first then later get my port drive fixed? Will my photos and data still be there; enough for me to back up in the future
A third-party repair place will replace your battery and they try to preserve the data on the iPod.

Sorry, but it's probably lost, then, presuming you never made a backup. There's a dim chance that you could recover at least some of the data using a file recovery utility such as Data Rescue from Prosoft Engineering, but the chances aren't good and get lower the more you use your computer.

You can't see the data inside the backup, and you can't restore just part of the data if that's what you're asking. To see the data you have to restore the entire backup.

i have been using hp pavillion dv6000 since june 2006 tilldate without much problem.Just 1-2 months ago it seems something happened and it went slow.then 0n 27-28th dec 12 one of my cousin came and she told that there is a virus and we need to backup the data and clean the notebook.on agreeing the notebook was put tothe HP backup shcedule and the data was backed up on an external hdd.then kaspersky was installed .then when recovering the data it is found tha not all the data was backuped or not all the data is recovering.All Tally accounting files are missing.My notebook never made any restore point and tilldate I never needed any.But now the point is that i need that all the data back even if with virus.the virus can be cleaned but the data is needed.its my hardwork of years.even if it takes a week i need the data back.I presume that data can be recoverd even if it is wirtten off or deleted.Not being a technical or infotech techie I dont know the exact thing but i think that it can be recoverd.How- that the techies who made yhe notebook can tell,Please all out there let me get my data there are a lots of fotographs i had taken during the years of distant family members and occasions etc which are also to be recovered.

If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Looks that something has gone wrong with the reset as you still have Firefox profile folders with a date/time stamp that a reset creates, but are using a regular default profile.<br />
Such a new default profile is likely to have been created because of a problem with the profiles.ini file (if profiles.ini is missing the Firefox will create a new default profile).
Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
You can look at the time stamps or check the name of the JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder.

I did the backup since I had to sent my macbook pro retina display to customer care.

My daughter has previously had an ipod which was linked to my itunes iphone account.
she now has a new iphone and has linked this to that account and now she receives all my contacts apps etc when she syncs her account.

Is there a way to restrict which users can enter data in particular fields in a list item entry form?
We are using a SharePoint Foundation 2013 list and calendar to manage vacation time. We need to restrict non-supervisor users users from entering a value in a certain field in the vacation request form.
Here is how the system works now:
1. Employees complete the vacation request form (which creates a list item)
2. An email is sent to their supervisor to either approve or decline the request
3. Approved requests are automatically entered onto the vacation calendar
We have restricted the list so that only supervisors can edit items (the pending vacation requests). The problem is that all users can mark their own requests as approved when they fill out the request form in the first place. Is there a way to restrict

We ended up 1) hiding the approval column and 2) creating a second list, workflow, etc. The user no longer sees the approval column when filling out the form. Requests are now submitted to list A. Workflow #1 copies the request
to List B, then deletes the item from List A. Once the request is added to List B, Workflow #2 emails the user that the request has been received and emails the supervisor that a request needs to be approved. Only supervisors have editing permissions on List
B. Approved requests are automatically added to the vacation calendar (the calendar view of List B).

No. You cannot link your contacts to hers. However, you can use Home Sharing to share the information:

I share an Apple ID with someone but we are now on iOS8 and getting each others messages on our iphones and ipad. How can I split the account safely as well as protect icloud backed up data?
Use different Apple IDs for iMessage (and also FaceTime) to avoid getting each others text messages (and FaceTime calls). One of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (and Settings>FaceTime), tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID. You can continue to shared the same ID for the iTunes store and other services.

What version of word do you have? The TS3938 sounds like it's a PowerPC app- written for an old architecture that is no longer supported in Lion. If this is the case, your files are fine- you just need a newer version of word that will run in Lion in order to open them. The newest version (2011) should be readily available anywhere, and has worked fine for me ever since I switched to Lion on release day....

Photostream keeps your photos for download to other devices for 30 days, once they are gone, you can find them on other devices that you have enabled photostream to work with. So if you have Computer, and use photostream - they are in photostream folder in pictures or iphoto. If you didn't use computer, they are gone.
