Is the only way an iMac with OS 10.4.11 can connect to a wireless network through an airport?

Yes you can. If your imac has a wifi card. You open an internet connection and type in theip address of the router. Then following the instruction book for the router, set it up, then go to your imac and open network in system utilities , click on airport turn it on and you should get a link showing your router. You might be asked for a pasword . Which will be whatever password you set up for the router. If problems click on the ? and the help menu weill tell you what to do.

In which this just gets weirder and weirder...
I logged onto iCloud.com, signed into my account and created a rule there that emails from my husband's address should be allowed into the inbox. I sent another test msg from him to me and got the New Mail notification sound, the new mail showed up but in a flash disappeared. This happened in the space of about 3 seconds.
Messages from his email address are not even showing up in the Trash folder. WTH?

When you say it "can not scan any wifi network" do you mean it is not detecting Wi-Fi networks?
Is Wi-Fi turned on in Settings > General > Wi-Fi?
Have you tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?
Is it just the home network that the device will not connect to? or any network?

I transfer iTunes to another hard drive but ipad can't syn with the software

I bought a new computer with Windows 8 installed. I used "Home sharing" to transfer my itunes folder from my older computer to my new computer and that seem to work. Please note on my new system I had to installed the lastest itunes software for my computer.
As always when you first open up iTunes it selects the default location My Music (C:\users\Owners) but I came across a problem. I have a Solid State Drive 120GB but because of all the unnecessary junk they install on your new system, I had to transfer itunes folder from the default location and installed it to my D Driver (3TB).
Now when I transfer from my old computer I went to Edit/Preferences\Advanced and check off "Keep iTunes media Folder organized" and the selected "Change" and select the new location which is my second hard drive "D". Everything seems to transfer ok and yes I did "Authorize the new computer" and "DeAuthorize" the older computer.
I rebooted, updated the software. When I plug in my ipad2 the software seems to recognize it because it shows on the left pane "Gord's ipad". When I go under "info" and selected most boxes that need to be syn it seems to stay stuck on "Contacts" as it shows the bar moving but nothing is happening.
Then Outlook 2013 pops up an error stating that "Outlook can't open properly and to click on repair, which it does but everytime I try to syn Outlook error pops up again.
I obviously did something wrong that I can't get my ipad2 to communicate with my new computer. Any suggestions out there.

Can't sync with Blackberry software

Hey Guys: I have an 8830 and when I open the desktop software on my mac the message to "connect with the USB cable" I can't move past this screen. Any suggestions? I have used pocket mac successfully for quite a while and this is a disappointment so far !

Are you using a USB hub? If you are, then the Mac might not be able to properly see the BlackBerry connected.
Can you try connecting your BlackBerry to your Mac USB port directly?

Open your Info, choose Master, open Details, and click on the blank effect section (w/ the checkbox beside it) and choose Ozone.
You can use it the same way for individual tracks if you want to.

Can't Sync with old software

I have a macbook pro that has 10.4.11 OS X on it, and the iphone is not compatible with this software.
Do i have to buy the leopard software or is there an easier way to get past this.
Any insight will be helpful.

I am getting the new iPhone and want to upgrade my MacBook Pro software to the newest version. I am currently using iWeb and don't want to loose use of it when I upgrade my system software. Will I still be able to manage my web site with the new system software and the older iWeb?

As you now know iWeb and iDVD have been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.   On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. HOWEVER, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:

Currently if the site is published directly from iWeb to the 3rd party server the RSS feed and slideshow subscription features will work. However, if the site is first published to a folder on the hard drive and then uploaded to the sever with a 3rd party FTP client those two features will be broken.   All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.   There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
   However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. You should get something like this.
On the left pane is a list of common places.
All the user data is in the /Users folder.
See the magnifying glass on the upper left of the screen. This is spotlight. Type in a file name.

"there is a problem with your apple tv ethernet networking" but I am connecting wirelessly

So basically I can happily see all my movies etc on my TV via Apple TV but they appear to play but with no image. Sound is OK! Then the ATV decides something is wrong, reboots and says "there is a problem with your apple tv ethernet networking" but I am trying to connect over wifi.

You may have some software corruption or the unit may well be starting to fail.
Hold menu and down arrow for 6 secs to reboot the unit to the diagnostics/service menu from where you can reinstall the original shipping software (some have had issues updating beyond version 1.0 if that's what's on it) but first I'd try to run the diagnostics utility though it often passes this even if there are issues.
Always worth unpowering the AppleTV and letting it rest for a few minutes before restarting - this can sometimes reset thing that a powered reboot won't.

Can't connect wirelessly to our WRT54GX4 after a time without rebooting the router

Hi, We have 2 of these routers and can't connect wirelessly to them after a period of time (unknown length at this point) until we reboot the routers. We have some printers cabled to one and a PC to the other. Both loose their ability to allow wireless communications after a while. We reboot them and they work fine. Is it a setting that I can't fine?

hi...first off, ensure that the routers have the latest firmware installed....then try changing the wireless settings on the router
ssid - any non-linksys name
channel - either 1 or 11
enable encryption
beacon interval - 50
Fragmentation threshold - 2306
RTS threshold - 2307
