Can my macbook 5.2 take ddr3 memory?

Can my macbook 5.2 early 2009 take ddr3 memory? I have upgraded it to 4gb ddr2, but could I upgrade it further to ddr3 8gb? I have read somewhere you can but just to be sure.

This is the RAM information for your MacBook
Built-in Memory
None
Maximum Memory
6.0 GB (Actual) 4.0 GB (Apple)
Memory Slots
2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM
Minimum Speed
Interleaving Support
Yes
So basically you can only use DDR2 which you have in it, but it is upgradable to 6GB instead of just the 4 that you have in it

  • How much RAM can my MacBook Pro REALLY take?

I want to max out my MacBook Pro. The apple website, and apple representative I spoke with on the phone told me that 8GB is the max. I have read that some people have used 16GB of RAM. The Apple representative refused to say that the MacBook Pro is compatable with 16GB.
Is it true that I can use 8GBx2 in my computer. If so, is it potentially dangerous? Why won't Apple say it supports it if it does?
    I'm using a 2012 MBP '15 2.3ghz Intel Core i7 (not retina)
    Currently using 4GB 1600mhz DDR3 memory.
    Let me know!
    Greg

Most importantly DO NOT PUT IN 1.5volt memory.
Your macbook air mid-2012 and on takes 1.35V memory.  Will it work with 1.5V?  yes and no, its known to cause issues, some serious.
MOST retail electronics shops DO NOT carry 1.35V memory.  Dont try to put in memory from there. Order it online or from the apple store.
Dont make a serious mistake that can cause issues and even cause a warranty issue if you place in the WRONG voltage memory.

Hi, I cannot get any answer from hp as to whether my pavilion 3204tx can take ddr3 1666 or 2000 ram. The machine currently has 4 gb of ddr3 1333 mhz ram and the manual says it can take up to 8 gb of ram. i am running 64 bit win 7 premium and some memory vendors have said this laptop can take 2000 mhz and 1666 mhz memory. I am going to upgrade the memory to 8 gb and would like to use the higher clock speed if I can. Does anyone know what memory this machine can take?
    Thanks very Much

  • How do I create my own favorite template for DVD slideshows? I used to be able to select this from pulldown menu, but cannot now do so. I am directed straight to templates, which take more memory. I have a large slideshow, and need all the space I can get

First, how do I create my own favorite theme template for DVD slideshows? I used to be able to select this from pulldown menu, but cannot now do so. I am directed straight to already existing themes, which take more memory. I have a large slideshow, and need all the space I can get. I just want to use a picture as my DVD cover, and then insert a slideshow. Also, when I try to burn my 8.5gb double sided slideshow, all that burns is the music. It is a large slideshow, a memorial on the life of my now deceased brother. This means a lot to me and to my family, and I am having so much trouble trying to burn it. I have gone into Project View and selected appropriately. The bar shows I have room to burn this DVD, but it does not burn.  I have burned so many DVDs in the past, but this one just will not burn. I am so confused at this point. I will say this is the first 8.5gb I have attempted to create and burn. My specs list a 7.7gb or 4.7gb as operable....but there are no 7.7gb dvds. I had to purchase 8.5gb. Help? What am I doing wrong? I have spent so much time on this, and just cannot figure it out.

Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor.  The pro version of iMovie.
Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow.  It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them.  You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version).  Personal preferences showing here.

  • MS-6528LE Can only take one memory module at a time

The paticular board I am posting about can only take one memory chip at a time i.e.  I install one memory chip it's 133MHZ chip 128MB boot up my machine goes to windows just fine.
I am using windows xp btw.
Ok when I install a 2nd 128MB PC 133 chip I get the blue screen right before I get into windows and it gives some really weird error.
I take the second chip out leave one chip in and it works just fine I am at a loss of this one.
I tried updating the bios didn't work could use some assistance here by email or a nice reply.

Thats the problem.  My powersupply maxes out at 300W and goes no higher than that.  It seems it needs more power.
I will get a powersupply that is more suitable for this motherboard and post again with the results I get.  Thanks for your help I can say that this company has been more helpful than others.
    Once again thanks.

  • Why can't I use the 16GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) with 24GB flash Hard Drive Acceleration Cache?

I tried to customize the Envy 15t but I can't proceed on upgrading the following.
    Error
24GB SSD Acceleration Cache requires purchase only up to 8GB System Memory.
Why can't I use the 16GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) with 24GB flash Hard Drive Acceleration Cache?
Can HP explain this to me? or any one? please

    Hi,
The 24Gb cache drive will store manything and normally it will need at least twice the size (capacity) of RAM. Double 16Gb is 32Gb therefore 24Gb is not big enough.
    Regards.

  • Can I take a memory card from an iphone 5c and put it in a 4s?

Can I take the memory card from a iphone 5c and use it in a 4s?

Since the memory is not removable from the phone, and the phone does not have user serviceable parts, and it voids the warranty and post-warranty support if you open up the iPhone.....................I would say no. That does not take into account a number of differences in the internals of the phone either.

  • How much RAM can my Macbook Pro hold MAX?

Can my Macbook Pro hold a MAX of 8GB or is it just 4GB? I'm getting different answers online and I'm a little annoyed at this point. My computer specs currently are:
    15 inch Laptop
MacBook Pro 2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
    Got my computer in 2009.
At Crucial.com it says it can hold up to 8GB when I select my computer processor speed from their list, but I noticed it saying DDR3 (and I don't know what that means to be honest). Here's the link:
    http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=7F3A5584A5CA7304
To the best of my knowledge I selected the correct computer, which I own, from their list.
Under "About This Mac", on my computer, it says DDR2 for the memory, on Crucial.com it says DDR3. As a result I'm confused and will that cause problems?
I'll be getting my RAM kit from Crucial.com, so do I buy the 4BG kit, because that's all my laptop can handle, or is it OK to get the 8GB kit, which says DDR3?
I do a lot of video and audio, so I would like to get my RAM up to 8 GB if it will.
    Thanks

One more question friend....You've been so helpful
Will these two sticks work together on my machine?
    2GB, 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module
    http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=B54C51B4A5CA7304
    along with a...
    4GB 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-6400 Memory Module
    http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-CT51264AC800-200-pin-SODIMM-PC2-6400/dp/B001RB21JE
So these two would add up to 6GB total. Now the ONLY DIFFERENCE that I see is the 2GB stick is PC2-5300(667Mhz)speed and the 4GB stick is PC2-6400(800Mhz)speed. I understand that my machine won't run at the 800Mhz speed that the PC2-6400 stick is designed for, cause my machine says 667 under the memory info. From what I read online, it's ok to put a higher Mhz stick in there, it will just cap at 667Mhz speed? But.......both sticks are DDR2, which is right for my computer, but will the 667 MHz with a 800 Mhz be a huge no-no to run together? At this point I think that is my main concern! If I can't do this, than I think I'll have to go with the 2x2GB kit for 4GB total, but I REALLY would like to run 6GB.
    Shew.... :P
    Thanks again!

  • How much RAM can my MacBook Pro hold?

I've seen a bunch of these type of questions on here, and have gotten mixed answers.  Some people say that the max is 6GB and some say the max is 8GB.
    Here are my specs:
    MacBook Pro 15-inch, Mid 2009
    In Memory it says:
Your Mac contains 2 memory slots, each of which accepts
    a 1067 MHz DDR3 memory module.
I currently have 2GB of RAM in each slot
Crucial seems to think that I can get an 8GB upgrade kit:
    http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=MacBook%20Pro%20(15-inch%2C%20 Mid%202009)&Cat=RAM
has anyone done this with a similar comp? Is 8GB possible?
    Thanks for your help!!

    A model 5.4 15" 2009 MBP will recognize 8 GB RAM with the following specifications:  204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM.
The best sources for Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.
    Ciao.
