Can my other devices open receive my FaceTime calls if we share an Apple ID

Is it possible for others on my Apple ID to be able to receive my FaceTime calls?

No, only if you use a different e-mail address on the other device.

Why can't I block certain people face timing and imessageing me? I keep receiving random facetime calls every 5 minutes got to the point where I have has to turn facetime off.

I'm having the same problem, but it's also coming through on my computer, through my Apple email address.  I have a very short Apple email, and little kids are trying to facetime their little friends, and then when I tell them I'm not their friend, they FaceTime or iMessage me even more, thinking that I'm still their friend, and I'm just kidding around.
I can't block the kids before they call...I don't know who they are.  I want to restrict my FaceTime to only my phone number, and block all FaceTime and iMessage requests that are coming in through my email address.  Can I do that?

  • TS3367 if I receive a facetime call on my iphone, can I forward the call to my Mac?

if I receive a facetime call on my iphone, can I forward the call to my Mac? Basically, I want to talk over facetime on my computer, but the calls always go to my iphone.
How do I recive calls on my computer rather than my phone?

NO you can't forward the call.
You will have to answer on your Mac.  Whomever is calling you will need to use your apple id, to use the computer for facetime.

  • Why can't other computers open my photos from Iphoto or down load them? they don't show up as an icon.

Why can't other computers open and/or download my photos when I email themfrom IPhoto? Have also tried making it a separate file on my desk; to no avail.
It shows as an icon and jpeg when it goes out from my computer but they can't download it.
They might see the photo imbedded in the emil but it doesn't appear as a downloadable icon.
    Thank you for your help.

I think I can help. I use Mac but my secretary uses PC.
Make a file on your desktop and name it "test"
Go to iPhoto and click on a photo to send to this folder
Go to file and choose "export"
Pop up window - Kind: jpeg
    quality: maximum
    size: full
click on export and choose the "test" folder you created on the desktop.
You can now send any jpeg that you put in this folder from an email account by "attaching file" from within the email. If you have more than one jpeg, right click on the folder and choose "compress file"

For the Internet, you should set up a router on your modem, this router will route the packets to any device on the local area network.
If you use the iMac as a router, like if you connect the Ethernet cable from your modem to the iMac, then broadcast a Wifi signal, the iMac will have to remain on all the time, at full power. Thus drastically shortening it's lifespand.
A router is only about $100 or so, offers much better security as it's like a large guard, someone has to hack through router first to get your iMac or other devices.
If it breaks, you buy another 5 years later for another $100, so your not placing all that always on wear and tear on your expensive iMac.
Apple's airport routers are pretty good, easy to set up and have automatic firmware updates, plus music sharing etc.
Set up properly you will be very secure
WiFi security issues, at home and WiFi hotspots

  • People can't hear me on the other end when I make facetime calls from my Imac

People can't hear me on the other end when I make facetime calls from my IMAC

I had the same problem on my brand new iMac and Apple Care solved it for me. Very simple.
    1. Restart your computer
    2. As soon as you hear the chime, press the SHIFT button until you see the Apple logo, then release it. This will put your computer into safe mode. When your computer boots up to the home screen in safe mode, Facetime will NOT work. That's normal.
    3. After your computer finishes booting up to your home screen, restart it normally. That solved the problem for me.
Apple Care said that putting the computer into safe mode results in a diagnostics check that can fix certain problems. I hope this helps someone else.

  • When I receive a FaceTime call, my mom's iPad and iPhone both receive the call. How do you fix this?

How can I get my mom's iPhone and iPad not to receive my FaceTime calls? It happens when others try calling me.

OK, did you check this on all devices?
Settings/ FaceTime/ You can be reached by FaceTime at ...
You must be sharing at least one e-mail as a point of contact.

  • Someone else receives my facetime calls

    Hi,
Since last saturday (3rd May 2014), I see that somelse is making and receiving my facetime calls. The first time, I saw on the phone of my girl friend that she was receiving a Facetime call from my account AppleID. This call was not coming my own phone. Both these phones (the one of my girl friend and mine) were one next to the other when we received this call.
Than we did some tests. When she called me on Facetime, sometime another person has responded (seems to be a little boy).
It seems both our phone received the call (mine and the one of the little boy) and the first who respond take the call, the other don't.
I don't know if my text on iMessage are concerned. No proof of that for the moment, but I have dought.
This little seems to be French, like me. And so I have a theory but I'm not sure of that. I think this little boy has got my previous phone number. Even if this is the cause, I don't know how to resolve it.
Please, could someone help me to recovery the property and the use of my Apple ID on Facetime ?
    Thanks.
    Teihotum

It is happening the same to me. I've been receiving FaceTime calls from my gf account for a few weeks, but it's not her. A guy with a mask is making the calls, but I am not sure he is american, since I am not able to understand what he says.
At the beginning I thought it was a FaceTime bug because I started receiving calls while I was already talking on FaceTime with my gf, so I didn't care at all and obviously I didn't answer. But last Friday the iPhone rang again and I answered and saw this guy.
We've been to the Apple store and we've called the customer care maybe 10 times and no one is surprised at all. Is it so common and normal that someone uses your Apple ID to call your relatives and/or your partners??
They just answered that you have to change simply your password, but this doesn't solve anything. In fact, the guy called again a few hours ago and the Apple senior manager decided to transfer our call to the network operator.
I'm totally disappointed with the answers from Apple, since the operators aren't able to avoid future calls from the guy and to dissociate his devices from my gf's icloud account!
I would be very grateful if someone could help me to manage this weird situation.
    Thank you very much!

  • How do you receive a FaceTime call on your iPad

How do you receive a FaceTime call on your iPad

Just my experience, but I've never had a screen protector on any of my iPads and have never felt the need to have one. You may want one if you don't use a case or cover, but otherwise I don't see that they're useful assuming you take basic care in keeping your screen clean and free of debris that might scratch.
    Regards.

My wife just activated her IPhone5 today and when we received a call to FaceTime both her phone and IPad rang. When we answered the call on the IPad the callers image only appeared in the portrait mode and any attempt to rotate the Ipad to the landscape mode did not change anything. Any suggestions?

  • Why can't I hear the receiver of my call unless it's on speaker

Every time I make a call the receiver of my call picks up but I don't hear the dialing or anything on my end.  The screen indicates that the call is in progress but there's dead air on my end.  Only when I press speakerphone i can hear the person on the other end.  The phone is only 3 weeks old.

Have you removed the plastic protective film that is on the iPhone when it was shipped?

  • I cannot turn on iCloud on my laptop (but I can on other devices)

I upgraded to Lion for my macbook pro and Ios5 on my ipad/iphones. All was good. HOWEVER,I am going CRAZY trying to figure out why my laptop is not recognized in iCloud!!! I moved over my mobile me account, turned it on on my ipad and iphone but when I try to go into settings on my mac and click on the cloud and enter my apple id, it tells me that it recognizes my id but it's not set up in the cloud. Then, I get a link that sends me to the "how to set it up" but it never ever ever addresses my problem. I can access it in icloud, but I still prefer to use my email from the desktop instead of through my webrowser. My mail servers are disabled and I can't go in and put a new one (the field for that is unselectable/writable).
    I am just really frustrated.
    Lynn

    Lyn,
A couple of things, first is you need to run Software Update on the MBP to get Lion 10.7.2. Then  you can use the iCloud Setup Guide to learn how to setup iCloud.
Next this is an Intel iMac forum, please post to the correct forum in the future.
Last please complete your profile, you don't state what version of OS X is on your MBP.
