Can my Windows MCE Remote control iTunes?

I have an iPhone so I want to use iTunes as much as possible to make myself as familar witht he program that I can.
I would really love if my Windows MCE Remote can control it.
I used the up and down arrows and it seemed to scroll through the song list, but I couldnt pause the song from the remote.
So can I get it to fully work with iTunes?
Can I even use the MCE on the desktop like a mouse?

No idea, since I don't have Windows MCE Remote. Have you tried over in their forums?

  • ATV Remote controls iTunes on MacBook as well......

    Hi all,
We just got ATV and when we are using the remote to navigate ATV stuff happens in iTunes as well - such as music starting and stopping, volume increasing/decreasing. How do I stop the ATV remote controlling iTunes on the macbook?
    Thanks

On your Mac go to System Preferences, Security & Privacy, choose Disable Remote Control Infrared Reciever, at the bottom of the window.

  • How can I get the remote control button to appear in itunes?

I cant seem to locate the remote control button that is supposed to appear in iTunes. I do not have any remote controls associated with my iTunes yet the button is not appearing. Help.

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following link and selecting "Save Link as".
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    THAT's the Flash Player.
    Shockwave Player 12
    THAT's the Shockwave plugin.
BOTH should be up to date.

  • Apple Remote controls iTunes, not Front Row

I've searched around for an answer to this and have had no luck. My Apple Remote is controlling iTunes - the play/pause button is playing and pausing, the up and down buttons are controlling iTunes volume, the left and right buttons are skipping tracks as expected, and the Menu button is pulling up the iTunes window. But I want the remote to open and control Front Row. Holding down the Menu button won't open Front Row, no matter how long I hold it. I can open Front Row normally through the Applications folder, but even when it's open, the Apple Remote doesn't control it - it still controls iTunes! Pressing play won't do anything in Front Row, but it will start a song playing in iTunes. The remote and my IR receiver are obviously working. How can I fix this?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
If you use the Accounts System Preferences to make a brand new user, log out and log in as the new user, does the Apple remote work as expected with Front Row? If so, then you have some kind of preference or setting that's blocking the remote in Front Row. If it doesn't work for the new user, then you have a system-wide or hardware problem.

  • I am a newer about LabVIEW.How can I realize a remote control in a Web brower.

"To transform your application into a remote laboratory, make sure the VI that you want to publish is loaded into LabVIEW memory. Next, select the Web Publishing Tool option from the Tools menu. This window is the main window for interactively creating and publishing your remote laboratory
The Web publishing tool will automatically load in the Document Title and VI Name text fields. As the sample image in Figure 6 illustrates, the Document Title, Text 1, and Text 2 are all text fields that you can use to customize the Web page created with the publishing tool.
The second step necessary to enable a remote laboratory is to select the Start Web Server button. When pressed, this button activates the built-in LabVIEW Web server, which will publish and control your front panel images from the Internet.
Once the Web server is activated, the actual HTML document needs to be created and saved so it can be accessed remotely. Clicking on Save to Disk places an HTML file called Document Title.htm into the LabVIEW file folder called WWW by default. Saving your Remote Panels HTML documents into this folder will ensure that the LabVIEW Web server can find them. Either keep the default name, or assign a new name and save the file. Once saved, a new panel entitled Document URL pops up with a message box containing the URL address of your enabled LabVIEW application.
Click on OK in the Document URL window and then click on Done in the Web Publishing Tool window. Your lab is now ready for remote visitors
    Required Software
To operate a LabVIEW program using remote panels, it is necessary to have the free LabVIEW run-time engine installed on the client computer. When a remote viewer logs onto the lab with the appropriate URL address, the LabVIEW front panel will appear in the browser, or reroute the user to install the run-time engine from the National Instruments Web site.
    Application Control
Once connected to the remote laboratory, the client connection will automatically be in a monitor state. If another client is controlling the remote laboratory, the user will be able to monitor the actions of the controlling client. To request control of the program, right click on the front panel and select Request Control. Once selected, one of two possible messages will appear. Either the user will be granted control (Control Granted), or the user will see a message indicating that control is currently granted to another user (Waiting for control: Either the server is locked or another client has control). If another client has control, the controlling client will be notified that control time has now become limited. Once the timeout occurs or the controlling client has released control, application control is automatically switched to the requesting client (Control Granted). Once the user has been granted control, all icons and controls will become active and running the LabVIEW application is exactly like running the application from the local environment.
    Releasing Control
When the remote viewer either moves on to a different URL address or relinquishes control by right clicking and selecting (Release Control), or when the remote laboratory times out, the remote laboratory is available to the next visitor."
The above is what I read from a text of ni.com,
but I can not obtain the result.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi
I don't see which LV version you are using. It's important to know, that you need the FDS or PDS package of LV 6.1 to work with remote control. This feature is not supported in the LV base package of LV 6.1.
If you have LV 6.1 FDS or PDS, which of the described steps are not working?

  • Windows 7 remote control problem - ARD 3.3.2

I have a Windows 7 PC and a MacBook running Mac OS X 10.7.2 (Lion). I have set up TightVNC only so I can remotely control my PC from my Mac. Although when I attempt to observe/control the computer, I get the following message:
    "Connection failed to "192.168.0.1"."
I got the PC's IP address by typing IPCONFIG into the Command Prompt. I copied down the number from "Default Gateway". Is this the correct IP? Do I need to configure a specific setting on the PC and/or Mac?
Please respond ASAP, this is important as I am handing my PC over to my kids soon and I would like to monitor their activity.

Default Gateway is the IP address of your router. To connect to your PC you would want the number to the right of "IP Address . . . . " Also when you do "IPCONFIG /ALL", you may see multiple Interfaces listed, make sure to copy the IP address of the correct interface.
If you try connecting by that address, and it fails, you might want to try turning the firewall off on the PC.

  • Use e71 to remote control itunes

    Hi,
I have a mac mini (snow leopard) with itunes. I would like to remote control the itunes running on my mac mini using my e71, like the iRemote for the iphone.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Lars Vonk

I have used Salling Clicker for years (on PC first and now on MAC), primarily to rate songs remotely from the phone and secondarily to add songs to playlists. It does much more and works both over Bluetooth and WIFI and is ideal to discretely and efficiently DJ your event.
Symbian version is well integrated (you have cover art and also can use the phones' volume keys to increase/decrease your computer's volume) and I highly recommend it (my first pay application... although the free version might be enough for some people).

  • How can I fix the remote control order of the chapters?

I am using the new 6.0 theme of Reflection Black--submenu Chapters. THis gives you two rows of chapters (which shows the looping movies and title of the chapter). I am importing the .mov slideshows in the order I want them accessed with the remote control of the TV (or DVD Player remote), but this is not the case. Instead, when clicking the right arrow on the remote control, the next chapter is not the one laid down in order, but another chapter. (From the first chapter, it skips to the second row, then back to first row, then back to second row.) Basically, the remote does not forward to the next chapter in the order they were imported.
Can anyone help? I have been told by Applecare that the map icons cannot be reordered. But starting a new iDVD project and importing in order does not work. I tried other themes and the ones with lists work and can even reorganize the order for you if you drag and change the position of the chapter!
    Thanks

There seems to be some order in some themes, but this particular one has no order. Hoping also to hear of a solution. Applecare said to reinstall iDVD if I can't fix the problem with creating a new project, but I don't think this is the issue, since other themes work.

  • Can do everything but Remote Control.

I have a 99 client Pro subscription.  One particular computer will let me login and do everything but Remote Control.  I can use the File Manger, Chat, etc.  Remote Control client shows an error after it tries to authenticate. Other clients work just fine.

    Reinstall it duh

  • Can MSI VOX be remotely controlled?

I belive I read in the skimpy manual that the USB VOX TV-tuner could be remotely controlled via the Internet. I've managed to set up streaming, but can't figure out how I can change channels remotely. Is this possible at all or just a glitch in the "manual" ?

You could use software like Caffeine to prevent it from sleeping:

  • Tx2z Disabling MCE Remote Control

    HI,
I have a MCE computer (not my laptop) and when I use my remote for it my laptop detects it and launches mce. I though bout disabling mce in the laptop but im pretty sure it will still detect the up and down and stuff from the remote. So what servers do I need to disable to stop the IR from reading the remote. Hope that makes sence. Thanks in advance for the reply.

I disabled all hid-compliant devices under human interface devices but remote still works. I installed a fresh copy of windows 7 (non hp) without the cir drivers and the remote is still reconized. I disable Programmable interrupt controller no effect...
Only of thing is Micosoft ACPI-Complaint Embedded Contoller but It cant be disabled only uninstalled and I dont thing it is the remote.
So anyone got a fix for this
welp I Installed the CIR Drivers and ehome infared did show up but couldnt be disable. I disabled DDSP services (auto install) and uninstalled the CIR Drivers rebooted and its now in unknow devices disabled (no more ehome infared) and the SOB still works.
