Can neither install nor uninstall Lightroom 5.7 after a crash. Win7-64bit

Yesterday I downloaded and ran the Lightroom 5.7 installer but my machine crashed during the install. After that I could not run the installer again, just got an error saying "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid.". I then tried to uninstall it from Control Panel but that also says the same thing. I tried to manually remove it and re-run installer but still the same thing.
Next I logged on to this site and ran the Creative Cloud, the updater there also gets me an error as below:
Exit Code: 7

What should I do to get rid of Lightroom so I can install the 5.7 version?
(I tried using the chat support but as soon as the representative start chatting I get a message saying the chat is closed and I can no longer send anything.)

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your reply.
No, I am not using Windows. I’m using Yosemite 10.10.2 on a MacBook Pro.
I ended up trashing (There was no “Uninstall" option) my old Lightroom (which was 5.7), reinstalling Lightroom 5 and then upgrading it to 5.7. Now seem to be working alright.
I uninstalled Creative Cloud 6 and went back to using CS5, using Lightroom to render the files, since I can’t use the latest Camera Raw versions with CS5, so I could work on them in Photoshop. Not an ideal solution. I wouldn’t mind upgrading to CC6 but not if it messes up everything else.
Quite honestly, I don’t understand why an Adobe user should have to depend on other Adobe customers for answers about Adobe problems. Adobe should have a strong customer support group to handle these problems, particularly when they are caused by Adobe. I have been an Adobe customer for at least 10 years. I like the products but the customer support needs to be improved. Apple does a better job.

  • HT1926 My .msi file is missing, and I can neither download nor uninstall iTunes. Can someone help?

When I tries to update my existing iTunes, I could not do it because I did not have the .msi file it needed. So I tried to uninstall, but I can't even do that because of that missing file. Could anyone please help me? I'm getting desperate here, and I'm scared that I won't be able to use iTunes after a while.

When I tries to update my existing iTunes, I could not do it because I did not have the .msi file it needed. So I tried to uninstall, but I can't even do that because of that missing file.
Assuming here that the particular missing msi file is either the itunes.msi or the itunes64.msi.
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Cannot install nor uninstall Analyzer for Excel add-in

When I try to run the Analyzer installer executable, which was downloaded directly from our BI Publisher server version 10.1.3.2, the installer only asks if I wish to UNinstall the add-in. Since I have no other choice, I say yes, thinking I can start all over. It goes through it's cute little progress bars and states that it finished uninstalling. No matter how many times I run the installer, it always asks if I want to uninstall the currently installed add-in.
The add-in does NOT appear in the list of installed add-ins inside Excel.
That's just for starters. If I open an Excel Analyzer template workbook, the 'Oracle BI Publisher' menu appears. When I try to login, it says that the add-in must be updated, so I confirm. Then it successfully connects to our BI Publisher server, and starts downloading/installing various files. But this process terminates with an error, stating that the update process failed, and I will not be able to refresh the data.
There is an entry in the Windows Add/Remove Programs utillity that corresponds to the Excel Analyzer Add-in. No matter how many times I click the Remove button, this item will not be removed from the list. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 and repeating this entire process. The result is always the same. I can neither install nor uninstall the Analyzer add-in.
Is there any way to make the installer re-install the Analyzer without thinking it's already installed? Is there some utility provided by Oracle that will manually remove the mess that is Analyzer for Excel?
I HATE the Analyzer for Excel, but it's the only interface to our data warehouse that everyone is skilled enough to use.

After failing to uninstall the program again, I tried using the 'Repair' option of the XMLPReportAddinSetup.msi package. That seemed to finish normally.
So then I tried to open an Analyzer template file. It opened, but when I tried to use the 'Login' item from the 'Oracle BI Publisher' menu, it said it needed to update the add-in. Instead of updating it, I chose to UNINSTALL the program, because I thought it would now have enough pieces to complete the uninstallation. It still won't uninstall. It is still listed in Add/Remove programs.
The next time I did the whole process again, and when I got to the point where the add-in says it needs to update from the server, I confirmed. This update again failed with an error.
I still cannot uninstall the program. I noticed also that the date on the program in the Add/Remove Programs listing is from Sept 30, not today.

I can't install or uninstall iTunes on my laptop.  I've followed all the steps on Apple Support as well as Microsoft support.  I get the error "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Pick an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi".  This has been going on for a couple of weeks now and I'm very frustrated.  From what I can see, I'm not the only one with this problem, but I have yet to see anyone post a solution that works.  Microsoft wants to charge me $99 to troubleshoot it for me and Apple will charge $20.  I think both are ridiculous as this is obviously not "operator error".

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Error 1402 refers to a non-existent key.  Can't install or uninstall to fix printer driver issues.

I can't install or uninstall Acrobat 9.5.3. I keep getting Error 1402, which states that I don't have permission to modify a key that doesn't exist in RegEdit: \UNKNOWN\Components\Lots of numbers. Even Revo Pro can't uninstall it.
I am trying to fix a problem with converting documents from Word. The process stalls because Acrobat can't find its printer drivers. The suggested solution is to uninstall and reinstall. I can't do either.
    Many thanks for your help.

The dead end is the error message (1402) that Acrobat can't modify the key: UNKNOWN/Components/Lots of numbers. It lacks permission.  The process stops and rolls back all changes. However, this weird key can't be found using RegEdit.
I'm using Windows 7 Home Pro 64-bit. I can't find any PDF*.dll files in System 32 or SysWow64. How can I put them there?

  • Can't install or uninstall itunes itunes 64.msi error

Can't install or uninstall itunes itunes 64.msi error - does anyone have a fix?
The itunes64.msi cannot be found in the temp sub-folder it was originally installed in.
I believe the System Mechanic cleaned out the temp files and now I can't install or uninstall itunes.
I tried to manually recreate the folder that the itunes64 setup is looking for and manually copied the 11.0.1 version of all the .msi files included in the installation, but, the installation still cannot find the itunes64.msi.

I was able to solve my problem by following all the directions at the following Apple site - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926?viewlocale=en_US
I was not able to remove the iTunes program using Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel; however, that didn't seem to matter. I removed the directories and used the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. I reinstalled iTunes Ver 8.1.1.10 with no problems. I'm sticking with this version for the time being.

  • How can I install presets into Lightroom 4.4 64 bits?

How can I install presets into lightroom 4.4 64 bits?

Hard to know where the ball got dropped without details.
I suggest creating a new "test" preset in Lightroom, then make sure you can find it in OS (Finder/Explorer).
Wherever you found it - that's the folder your other presets should be in. If they are already in that folder, then the preset files are not copacetic somehow (e.g. not compatible type).
    they should end with .lrtemplate

  • ITunes corrupted, can't re-install, nor uninstall

    Running Windows XP.
I ran a Windows Update the other day, that was titled "Update for XP" or something vague like that.
Last night I clicked on iTunes and rather than startup normally, it went into a window that said iTunes was installing....then it said the installation failed because it could not write to a file called "storecopyrightplacard.nib".
I tried to uninstall and taht failed with the same error.
Then I ran Windows Uninstall Cleanup Utility and tried again. Still failed with same error.
Now I'm stuck. iTunes will not run, I can't unistall it, and I can't install it.
I think it might have something to do with the XP update.
Oh yeah, after everything, I ran Combofix and used Windows Defenders to scan for viruses. Nothing was found and still iTunes does not work.
    Any ideas?

All the symptoms are consistent with disk/file damage, og.
First try running a chkdsk over your C drive (or the drive that your iTunes program files are installed on if that isn't your C drive.) There's instructions and a guided help in the following document:
[How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265]
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, reboot the PC and try reinstalling iTunes.
If the reinstall fails on the same file, could you post back with the precise *file path* of the file/folder it's complaining about? (There's a bunch of different .nibs of that name lurking down in the iTunes language resources, so we need to know the full file path in order to know which file or folder we're dealing with in this particular instance.)

  • Can't Install or uninstall jdk1.4

i am stuck in a situation where i can neither fully uninstall some of the existing files of jdk1.4 nor install jdk1.4 all over again.
It all started when i accidently deleted the folder in which i had installed j2sdk version 1.4 (latest) . Obviously uninstalling using the change\remove button for the entry j2sdk1.4 entry in add remove programs didn't work (i am using windows XP) . I thought it just required deleting some entries from the registry so i used Fix it 2002 to delete all erroneous registry entries . This software deletes all registry entries for which the corrwsponding files have either been deleted or moved. It deleted the entry for jdk1.4 but still on trying to install freshly there is an errror message saying that jdk1.4 is already installed So i tried searching all files in both hard drives with the search string 'j' and also 'sdk' and deleted evrerything which seemed to be associated with java, but even then i the same error message was generated on trying to install.
Please tell me if there is a way out..

Hei, I have the same problem (under windows 2000 pro) and I have extensively looked and searched in my registry, apparently there is nothing, and also there are no keys like F4588301-0A06-11D6-A761-00B0D079AF64 nor F4588303-0A06-11D6-A761-00B0D079AF64 in the
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" . Of course I have looked at all keys without an explicit name but all of them resulted referred to other software.
Still the installer of sdk+forte detects the previous installation and doesn't work. Any other idea about where there could be a trace of the previous presence of the SDK 1.4???
    Thank you for the attention
    Paolo
