Can neither reload or erase Photoshop Elements 6 from hard drive

My hard drive became corrupted.   I had a company install a new hard drive and transfer information from the old drive to the new one.  Everything works on it except Adope Photoshop elements 6.   I can neither down load from the disk, nor will it allow me to remove/erase the program.  I get the same error message
Error 1324  the path program file contains an invalid character.

Show that error to the company that performed the transfer.

  • How do I recover my photoshop elements after hard drive replacement?

I recently had to replace my main drive on the computer, so I have to reload all my software.  I originally installed photoshop elements 3.0 and still have the CDs and serial number, but cannot install it because it isn't compatable with windows 7.  I had upgraded to 5.0 and have that CD, but it is upgrade only and will not install because it cannot detect an earlier installation.  I do have all the files copied from my previous drive into a directory in the new drive, but the installation of 5.0 didn't find what it needed, even when I gave it the correct directory.
How do I get my photoshop elements back on my computer?
    Thanks!

You should not need to reinstall Elements 3 at all. Upgrade disks contain the full version of the software. The serial numbers tells the installer if you have a full version or an upgrade.
Just install Elements 5 from the upgrade disk, enter your Elements 5 upgrade serial number then enter your Elements 3 serial number when prompted.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 hard drive space system requirement?

I have a macbook pro with 4gb of memory in the hard-drive. I wanted to get photoshop elements 11 but the system requirements includes 4gb of hard-drive. Because some of my memory has been used up, does that mean I can not install photoshop elements 11 in my computer?

Just to get the terminology clear: you're not mixing RAM specs with hard drive space, are you?
Photoshop Elements 11 requires 1 GB of RAM and 4GB of hard drive space
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/release-note/photoshop-elements-11-release-notes .html#main-pars_header_0
MacBook Pros come with 8GB of system RAM. Older models had 4GB of RAM. Plenty for PSE11 or PSE12.
    http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs-retina/
Hard drives are usually are 128GB or 256GB or 512GB or higher. Again, plenty for PSE11 or PSE12.
What are the exact specs (RAM and hard drive storage) of your MacBook Pro and how much hard drive space do you have free?
Plus, bear in mind that Photoshop Elements 12 was released in late September and is now the current version. Adobe no longer sells PSE 11.

  • Re-installing Photoshop Elements after hard-drive 'wipe'

I have to have my hard-drive 'wiped' thus erasing all installed programs.
Do I just use the disc and product code on the box to re-install P.E.?

Yes. You need your serial number, not the redemption code if you had one of those. The redemption code is only used once, to get a serial number and then you use the serial number from then on. If you need help finding your serial number:

  • Can I back up to Time Machine from hard drive of failed Macbook?

My Macbook has just completely failed (I think an issue with power supply).
I had a bulging battery and have a new Macbook Pro on the way, but as I live in a very remote area this is taking a while. So, one day, my Macbook just wouldn't start again.
I hadn't backed up to Time Machine for about a week and would really like to get all the missing data. When the new computer arrives I'm planning to use Migration Assistant to migrate all my data from Time Machine.
So, my question is, is it possible to back up to Time Machine from the hard drive of my dead Macbook? I was thinking either cloning it somehow, or making a disk image and booting it from another Macbook, but this is stretching the limits of my limited IT skills. I don't want to interfere with the other Macbook I'm using or inadvertently wipe the data on the hard drive or Time Machine disk.
    Any advice much appreciated!
My Macbook ran Snow Leopard and was up to date with software updates as of two days ago. It was purchased about two years ago, but I think it's manufacture date was about March 2008.

    Thanks Noondaywitch and Pondini!
The HD of the failed Macbook turned out to be fine. Just to be safe I did a full functional back-up of my Time Machine disk to another external disk as well as cloning my Macbook hard drive using Carbon Cloner to another partition of the external disk.
I then booted from a friend's Macbook and did an incremental Time Machine backup from the original Macbook HD to the original TM backup (making sure I excluded the host computer's hard drive from the backup!); when I did the backup it asked whether I wanted to "Reuse backup" I clicked yes.
As said, the hard drive was fine, but at setup I needed an ethernet or firewire connection, which I didn't have on the enclosure, so I migrated my data to the new Macbook Pro using the original TM backup. Strangely, the backup said it was transferring only 120GB, whereas the HD had 150GB of used space. Redundant files, etc. perhaps? Anyway, it's just transferring now, so will sit back and read the paper and see what it looks like in an hour and a half!
    Thanks very much again!
Now, if anyone's got any suggestions to fix my old Macbook, which I was going to give away to impecunious friends if they bought a new battery……
HD is fine, power seems buggered, the rest, I don't know. Suggestions welcomed (I live 300+kms from the nearest service centre, so it's strictly DIY or go to local computer shop who know nothing about Macs).

  • ITUNES - can't drag more than 4 songs from hard drive to My Library

Has anyone else had this problem? For some reason, I can only drag 4 songs from My Documents on my PC to My Library in Itunes. If I try 5, it won't drag any of them and I have to start over.
    Help!?!?!

you can use the program iPodRip to get all of your songs back into your computer. It automatically puts the songs in iTunes for you and it works great. Here is the site. http://www.thelittleappfactory.com/application.php?app=iPodRip

  • Erasing older Logics from hard drive

    Hi all,
I first started with Logic 6, many years ago. I have since upgraded over time and now have Logic 9. However, Logic 6, 7 and 8 all still exist as applications in my Applications Folder.
Is it safe, or even advisable, to delete the older versions of Logic, to free up some disc space? As they are part of an "upgrade chain", I really do not know. Thanks in advance.
    Cheers.

If you want you can delete all the old versions of Logic. Keeping them is a good idea because -
    1. They do not take up much disk space compared to the content, sample and loops.
    2. If you ever need to open a Logic 6 or 7 project in the future you might regret having deleted them.

  • How to completely delete Photoshop Elements from my computer??

    Hi
I am trying to completely remove Photoshop Elements from my computer.   So far, I have failed in my attempts to do this.   The reason I'm doing this is b/c for some reason that I can't fathom, the folders in My Pictures -- the folders named by shot date -- contain random duplicates. When this happens, the file names folow the convention of DSC_0222 and DSC_0222-1. Exactly the same file size and metadata.  In some folders, every picture is duplicated. In other folders, only selected pitcures within the folder are duplicated.   I can't figure out how they got there -- e.g. it doesn't seem to bear any connection to the photos I've edited, which was one theory I had for a while.   Is Elements responsible? Or is this some sort of bug in the download process from the camera (I have a Nikon D40).  Anyway, I've given up on trying to sovle this problem and decided I would go back to the beginning and reload everything from my camera.   So, my real question here is about how to completely uninstall Elements.
Here's what I did:    I uninstalled Photoshop Elements through the Add/remove programs utility.  I got no errors during the uninstall process.   Then I completely deleted the My Pictures directory (don't worry -- I have it backed up in multiple places!!).   So, at this point there are *no* pictures on my computer at all.    I reinstall Elements, open it up and -- you guessed it!!! -- the catalog is still there with all the thumbnails of the pictures that i deleted from my hard disk.   Of course, each thumbnail is flagged as "Missing File".
So, how do I uninstall/reinstall Elements and get it to forget all memory of the previous catalog?   Why is it "remembering" it in this way when the pictures aren't even on the computer anymore?  Isn't this a bug???
I've been working on this issue for much longer than I care to remember-- if anyone can tell me how to get myself truly back to ground-zero so I can start over I would be deeply grateful.   After upgrading to Elements 9 (from 7) to try to solve this problem I am close to just abandoning Elements entirely.....
WHile we're at it, if anyone has any idea where the duplicates pictures are coming from and how I prevent that from happening, I'm' all ears!!!!
    Thanks!

    Hi
Thanks so much for the response.   So, Help/System Info says that the catalog is here:
    Catalog Location: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\My Catalog\
but no such file appaers to exist.  In fact, I can only get as far as All Users.   Then there is no directory under that called "Application Data".
i'm still seeing the thumbnails when I got into Elements tho'....   :-(

You should probably just download the trial version of pse 12 and see if you can live with it.
Download a free trial or buy Adobe products | Adobe downloads
That being said, have you tried to install pse 1 on your computer?
How much free space is on your hard drive?
Do you have Internet Explorer 10 or 11?
Pse 1 can run on windows 7 x64, provided certain conditions are met.

  • Can I store photos in Photoshop Elements Editor?

I have OSX Lion 10.7.  Before spending $80 on Photoshop Elements 10 Editor from the  Apple App Store, I have a couple of questions...
         1.  Can I download photos from my camera directly to Photoshop Elements, or must thry go to iPhoto first?
         2.  After I process photos using PSE Editor, can I store them in Photoshop Elements, or must they be stored in iPhoto?
            Thanks for your help.........

Elements editor is an editor, not a storage program. Even the full version of PSE that you buy elsewhere than the app store does not store your photos. The organizer program that comes with that is merely a database of the photos you store elsewhere.
You don't have to use iphoto if you don't want to. If you want an image manager there are several others to choose from (aperture, lightroom, etc), or you can just use folders if you prefer that method.
In any case, all the Elements Editor does is edit, not store.

  • What can I do when  in Photoshop Elements (version 11) the organizer does not start up??

    !@@

Yes, thanks a lot. I understand now.
I now am able to open the old catalog again!! I tried now several times with the new shortcut.
Thank you very much indeed for ALL YOUR EFFORT and patients with me.
You suggest now I should click on the repair button. When I do so, the catalog will be overwritten, or I can choose not to overwrite and than the catalog will be twice as big. So I decided not to click on the repair button. When I see afterwards that some functions do not work anymore, I allways can use the repair button. As far as I can see now nothing is lost.. )
As far as I understood it is only possible to repair with a backup. Happily I made that allways, but I am afraid to use it, for the reason above.
When I have more time to spare, I will look for all the foto's from the apps of my cellphone and delete them.
Now I can finish my fotowork, what I had started before, and make Photoshop Elements again the main fotoprogram on my desktop.
    Thank you again! Trees

  • Scanning to photoshop elements from scanner

I seem to have misplaced my previous posting on same subject.
Although I can scan from PE 4.0 using my HP 8250 Scanner, I am unable to add
PE 4.0 to the Destination list of the scanner so that I can initiate a scan
to PE from the scanner buttons. I have spent several hours trying to scope
this out but information seems illusive. Can anybody help me add Photoshop
Elements 4.0 to the Destination list of the HP 8250 Scanner?
    Thanks in advance.
    Barry

Thanks for the links.  I will look at that.<br /><br />I have continued to try to scope this out myself since I posted the <br />question.  There is a learning curve involved here and I did find out a few <br />things that I thought I would mention which might clarify this problem.  It <br />did for me, anyway.<br /><br /> When one first installs the scanner and its software and then pushes the <br />various scanner buttons, a small window comes up and asks which of the <br />following programs do you want this button to activate.   After selecting a <br />program you then can click "do not show this again" button, which apparently <br />I had done in the past.  So I had forgotten and was unaware of that <br />window..........but now  know that Photoshop Elements does come up in that <br />window and I could have chosen it to open when that button is pushed.  When <br />it does open Elements it doesn't do a scan automatically but the scanner <br />does respond to the scanner options in Elements.    Elements was not on my <br />computer when I installed the scanner and so I chose to use the HP scanner <br />software and also checked off "don't show this window again" and therefore <br />when I press on the button the HP scanner software opens.<br /><br />Since I didn't remember that, my question had to do with the next step. <br />After you use the HP software to automatically scan, when you accept the <br />scan, another window opens to ask where you want the scan to go, and <br />although the Adobe Photodeluxe program is listed along with Word, and <br />several other programs, Photoshop elements is not listed there.  So in <br />effect, I can use the HP Software  to do the scan and adjust resolution, <br />etc, but then I can't send the accepted scan to Elements.  That's what I was <br />asking about.<br /><br />I did do an entire uninstall of the HP software and then manually removed <br />any residue (HPSJ programs)  and then did a full reinstall.   That is how I <br />found out about the button choice window which I did not remember from <br />before.   But when I did a scan using the HP software and then pushed the <br />accepted button, the Destination list that came up again did not include <br />Elements.    Of course, there are workarounds such as saving the scan to a <br />file and then opening it in Elements......or just going to elements and <br />initiating the scan from there and I probably will end up doing one or the <br />other.............just a matter of principle that Elements should be treated <br />as equally as Photodeluxe and all the other programs already on the <br />destination list.<br /><br />Thanks for your interest.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]...<br />> Barry,<br />><br />> There were several discussions some time ago about the sequence in which <br />> Elements and scanner software were installed. • How can I syncronize Lightroom and Photoshop Elements data?

How can I syncronize Lightroom and Photoshop Elements data?

    Hi Palsaran,
As i understood, your requirement is to POST data from UI to backend.
The above code you given is not correct if you want to use model based implementation.
In UI5 you don't need to do an explicit Ajax call, for which we can use Models like OData, JSON etc.
For your JSON example, you can use like,
    var oModel = new sap.ui.model.json.JSONModel();
    var oData = "YOUR JSON DATA";
    oModel.setData(oData)
    oModel.loadData(yourURL/Entityset,"POST");
For ref, you can use the below link
JsDoc Report - SAP UI development Toolkit for HTML5 - API Reference - sap.ui.model.json.JSONModel

  • Photoshop Elements from PC To Mackbook

Can I migrate my Photoshop Elements from PC to MacBook without additional cost?

Well, that's hard to say. Technically adobe has said that download serial numbers are single platform, but I would go here and download the mac trial and see your serial works with it:
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-11-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
If it's okay, then make a full backup in windows using the organizer's backup command to a removable drive and then plug the drive into the mac and restore your catalog there.
