oh really? bummer all though I get updates still? thanks in Chat he told me to come here to get that help. Strange should still be able to use that...Can never afford to keep upgrading these programs.

Photoshop.com is gone, so there is no way to create a url and sign in. Your best bet is to just avoid the issue by not using the welcome screen. Go into the program files or program files(x86) for 64-bit systems if you have windows, or the applications folder on a mac, and find the actual .exe/application file for the editor and or organizer. Create a shortcut or dock icon and use that in the future to launch the program.

Can not acceess photo shop elements 5 editor

About 5 days ago I sent a help rquest to see if anyone could help me fix the reason why I can not access the editor on my PSE 5, at the same time I sent a request to Adobe for some help. I got the answer today stating that they don't support the Elements 5 any longer as they onlyt support the PSE 6 and 7. In view of Adobe not supporting a product they sold me I am forced to go somewhere else, so now I am buying a Corel Paint shop pro and say good bye to Adobe.
I am sure they will ban me in the future from this forum as well as erasing thsi e mail, ce la vie bye adobe.

Can't sign in for element 12

I changed my PC. after installed the element 12 in the new PC, when I tried to open it, the ad for element 13 showed up. if I find a jpg and specifing to open it with element 12, a window opens and asks to sign in, after I give the ID and PWD, the screen changes to grey and the busy circle keeps turning and nothing happens after.

OK, I understand.
When you watch a video on the website, your browser builds a "buffer", i.e. parts the video are downloaded in advance and stored on the computer temporarily, so that the playing is smoother.
Try this: When you go on the Adobe website to see a video, stop the playing by clicking on the || symbol and wait a few minutes. Then click on the > symbol to start playing. By then your computer may have downloaded enough of the video in advance and stored enough of it in the "buffer" that the playing is smooth. But do not close your browser while waiting.
When the playing is interrupted again, stop it again and wait a few minutes. Then start again.

How to import photos from iPhoto Library to Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor?

I can't use Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor to edit photos from iPhoto Library. If I choose File, Open, and then select 'iPhoto Library', error message is "could not complete your request because of a program error."

You can't do it that way. Any attempt to poke around in the iphoto library from outside iphoto is very likely to damage the library and cause you to lose your photos, so PSE won't let you. You have two choices:
1. Set PSE as your external editor, send the photos from iphoto, and save them without changing the name or format (you may need to adjust the editor prefs>Saving Files>On First Save to let you do this). Then iphoto will remember your original and the last edited version.
Be sure to choose this file in Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 10>Support files as your external editor, not the one at the top level of the PSE 10 folder in Applications:
2. Export the photos from iphoto, use File>Open in the PSE editor to open the images and then save them with whatever changes to name or format you like, and reimport the saved images to iphoto as new files. This way you can save as many versions as you like.

How do I cancel Revel? I never signed up for it! The online directions tell you to go to the shortcut on your desktop, but there isn't one on my PC and I couldn't find it under "My Programs".

Sometimes people sign up for a Revel account either through viewing a friend's account, or through Photoshop Elements, etc, not fully understanding what is occurring. We can delete your account from Revel if you so desire. That would stop the update messages. If you didn't really want a Revel account this would be a good solution.

Photoshop Elements 11 Editor : File/Open - How can I set a default folder ?

When I am in the Photoshop Elements 11 Editor and I want to load a picture from "My Pictures" on my hard disk ...
I go the menu item File/Open ...
Right now PE11 opens the last picture folder I worked with before ...
How can I make PE11 show the root directory of the "My Pictures" Library.
I do not want people to see which pictures I have been working with lately.

Before quitting the app after you have worked clic Edit->Preferences and click Reset preferences on next launch.
This would reset the settings and next time it will open my pictures by default with file open,

Can't I use my Scanner with the Elements 10 editor without the organizer??

I have been using Photoshop Elements for a looong time to help me create the product images I need for my online business. It's been a love-love relationship... until I took advantage of a special offer and bought Elements 10. Now it seems the only way I can scan images is thru the Organizer.... and the organizer is something I don't need.
Is there a way to scan my images thru the Editor only... and completely bypass the organizer (as I'm able to do with my older version of Elements)? Like a twain plugin I can install or something?
I may scan 10 images and decide to use only 3 of them... and those are the only ones I save.
With the way PSE10 is set up using the Organizer to scan, it's saving all 10 of them. Not to mention the extra steps of scanning thru the Organizer... (which means that pop-up window for my scanner every time), back over to the editor to pull the images in for editing, back to my files to delete the ones the organizer saved that I don't want... etc etc etc.
It's like 5-6 extra steps altogether and a huge time-sink for me (you know the old saying... time is money).
If there's no way to bypass the Organizer for scanning.... can I get a refund on my purchase? My older version of Elements works beautifully for me... I was just hoping for more sophisticated image editing capabilities.
VERY frustrated right now.

Since a "fix", as you say, is not a solution might it not be a good idea to alert purchasers of the latest editions of Elements that they have an option to try this alteration to the installation in order to be able to import images from a scanner? (My own experience with versions prior to 9 always worked perfectly!) I do not know but does Photoshop CS5 allow the user to import images from a scanner or does the user have to use a similar solution to what applies to Photoshop Elements? I find Elements to be a very good app and am sure it is a good selling product for Adobe for amateur/semi-pro users that the alternative that I suggest may be a useful tool for existing or new users who want or need the capability to import from a scanner rather than having to go through other more difficulty and time consuming ways of doing the same task. It's not a "fix", exactly. The TWAIN plug-in causes a lot of crashing in PSE so in the past couple of versions adobe makes you install it if you want it.

It won't take my password.It just freezes up and won't go anywhere. I try to reset password by submitting my email address but it never goes to my email.

You can't sign in because there is nothing to sign in to anymore. Photoshop.com is dead and gone, has been for many months now. Just don't try to sign in and don't use the welcome screen, since that will always hang up searching for the non-existent photoshop.com server.

How can I get rid of pink tint in Elements 6 "Editor" ? I received Elements 6 free with a scanner. It works o.k. on my Windows XP, except whenever I go to Editor workspace, the photo turns completely pink -- no other color. I can use the various tools on the pink, but this is useless, as I don't want a pink photo. Can't even convert it to black & white -- just stays pink. I tried everything I could think of to get a normal color transfer to editor from the organizer, but no luck. Please help.

This is an update to the pink tint problem. The problem mysteriously FIXED ITSELF today, after being stubbornly pink for weeks. I have no idea what happened, as I didn't do anything -- it was somehow already fixed when I started the program. So maybe it will revert again, who knows, but hoping for the best.

I had already tried deleting the review slide itself, though Captivate wouldn't let me - it just hid it. I tried again using the method you recommended but the slide remained in the filmstrip, so I tried deleting again, then re-added it from the Quiz Settings page ... no joy, same behavior as before.
I checked the Advanced Interaction page and confirmed that all of the scored questions were configuredthe same way as the non-scored questions, with the only difference being the pool that they were drawing from.
Other thoughts? I am by no means a Captivate expert but this one really feels like it shouldn't be this hard, and I'm more than a little afraid that it's the file itself that's jacked up ...
