Can no longer download without saving? AKA: C\Windows\Prefetch?

I'm not sure what happened, but the downloads options on here are screwy.
A minute ago I went to the plugin manager site and saw I needed to update Flash and Shockwave.
I went to do the Flash one and it went fine and everything, but out of curiosity I went to check my download folder and it was not there (which is fine, but confusing).
So, then I went to Options and noticed that it seemed like some settings had been changed (possibly as a result of FF20 update new download manager?). I don't even really remember which was which, but I changed it from one to the other (i think it was from always ask me to save files to, but it could've been the other way around).
Anyway, now when I download that flash update, it always saves in the download folder. By now, I've switched that download setting back and forth (which is why I can't remember which it was set at when I first looked), and I've driven myself crazy trying to figure out how to get the setting back to however it was before I touched anything (where it just downloaded and installed, but never saved to the download folder (or anywhere else).
I searched my machine for the file and other than the one's in the download folder, it also found the original one I installed... in C\Windows\Prefetch.
That doesn't really help me, but I thought maybe that help someone else.
Can anyone help me? It would be nice not to have these saved in downloads folder.

ArleneYou can transfer you iTunes purchases to your new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
You can only sync to one computer/iTunes library. You can manage music amond different computers by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
If you wnat to make the new computer your syncing computer you must restore the iPod.
- See if you can make a backup of the iPod on the new computer by right clicking on the iPod in iTunes and select backup. If successsful, restore the iPod from that backup after tansfering your iTunes purchases to the new computer.
- If you can't make a backup copy/move the backup file from the old computer, That file is located:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
You may have to turn off hide hidden files.
If you do not have the backup file you have to restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and sync your stuff to the iPod. You will loss all your app data. -

I can no longer download apps on my iPod. I recently had a card number on my iTunes account that i had to cancel and now it wants me to enter another card number so i can purchase apps. I only plan on getting free apps on my iPod and i do not want to enter my card number. Is there a way to create an account without enter my card number?
If you are curious and you want to know what iOS you are running - go to Settings>General>About>Version.
Also make sure that you transfer purchases into iTunes from your iPad via File>Transfer Purchases while the iPad is connected to your computer, with iTunes running and with your iPad selected. Also make sure that you backup your iPad by right clicking on the iPad name under devices and selecting - Backup. Copy any important files to your computer as well before you update your iPad. -
Please give an option to just open and run a download without saving.
I have a bunch of the things saved in the download folder that I have no clue what all of it is. Please I do not want to save everything I download, I would like to just open a file move on.

but if you like you can delete them manually
for these :
1.open downloads from menu button on right or by simply pressing (Ctrl +J )
2.Then select the downloaded file you want to delete by a single click on it.
3. You will find a folder type icon on right side of that , in which you should click.
4. Then it will open folder where the selected file saved.
5. Then you can delete that file .

Since upgrading my phone to the iOS7, I can no longer download music or apps on neither my iphone or through itunes on my computer. On my phone, it won't let me accept the terms & conditions. On my computer, an error message keeps flashing up: 'Error (-50)'. Please help?...
Sounds like the device is in recovery mode. You will need to restore the phone. See this support document for instructions. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

My iPod Touch can no longer download Podcast Videos after upgrading to iOS4
After upgrading OS 3.1.3 to iOS4, My iPod Touch (2nd Generation) can no longer download such video podcasts as NBC News, CBS News, ABC News and Cranky Geeks from iTunes store. The moment the download starts, there is always an annoying prompt "this video cannot be played on this iPod".
It's really frustrating!!!Same thing happening to mine also, still cant find a reason.

Could someone please advise on my current problem? Apparantly I can no longer download tones to my phone or account to be used as such since the tones are being downloaded as songs that cannot be transferred or placed in the tones area for the phone or in iTunes. Prior to the last update, this was always an option. I have also noticed that the Ringtones and Alert Tones are not showing up in my recent purchases as well to allow for me to place them back on my phone and there for require for them to be purchased again... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I've discovered that all tones purchased will be downloaded as ringtones, BUT they can be utilized as tones and assigned as alert tones on the iPhone...

I BADLY NEED A HELP PLEASE after updating to IOS 7.0.2 i can no longer download or even update my app thru apps store i already tried signing out and resetting my iphone but after the reset i can no longer sign in to my apple id it says" cannot connect itunes store" what should i do please help...

I can no longer download apps that I buy. They are on my computer, they will no longer sync onto my phone. Yes, I DO know how to do it. They no longer will go onto my phone.
Did some searches, but did not come up with anything regarding your specific issue (the original one, the grey 'waiting' problem is quite common). If no other ofrum users chime in, it is indeed time to contact Apple / iTunes Store support.
If you have not yet one so, Try to Reset your device. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off that shows up first).
You could also try to re-download one or two apps, just to see if anything changes. Log in to the iTunes Store, go to the Purchases section and download from the list of past purchases or free apps.

I can no longer download music from itunes store. It happened when I was trying to download songs dragged into a playlist. I tried to download more than one at a time. It stopped. Now I cant download at all. Even rebooted my machine.
OK thanks I will try that. I just don't understand why I still can't download new videos as I've deleted the software I installed and I've changed my camera settings back to what they were before when I could download into iPhoto. I perhaps should have mentioned it's iPhoto '08 version 7.1.5. Is there any way of putting iPhoto back as the "default download and view" programme?
It could be as simple as longer (larger) videos - iPhoto does not always handle larger video files well

iPhoto is not a download and view program - it is a photo management database program that imports photos - Image Capture is a download program - Preview is a view program
The default program to download your photos is set in the preference panel of either iPhoto or image capture

Can connect to iTunes, Safari, Google et etc. No issue with our wifi/network, we also have another iPad which fas no problem downloading apps.Try syncing your iPad with your computer, that way it can update its version of iTunes.

Steve Jobs obviously was "the man" because every update or install now gives me problems... i can no longer download anything to my iphone.. giving me errors of "cannot install at this time" and i get an error installing itunes on my other laptop... wth is going on!??!
ok so the download problem with my iphone.. what could be the cause of that? ive restarted and deleted the "undownloaded app" over 10 times already. and restarted the iphone 10 times... next thing i know i cant install itunes on my laptop.... geez man..
obviously there is a fix which someone will help... but why should i have to go through all that crap to install a so called uncomplicated software... when you think about it this really shouldnt even be an issue.
normally if the thing dosent work. normally with most programs you just uninstall the uncompleted software and just reinstall and everything is usually good to go.. help!ive never had any problems with ap[ple products in the past... this is a first and a stupid problem if you ask me

please please please help! It says in my iPhone Free Space area on iTunes that the apps on my phone are taking up 9.20 GB when I only have one page of apps (all fairly small ones, too!). I can no longer download anything to my phone because of this, and I need help to bring my "app space" down from the incorrect number.

I can no longer download Apps from App Store.
I would select the app, press the icon to download the App (Ottieni in my language, Italian), download would not start and an alarm saying "Download failed, try from the Purchased page to retry" would pop-up, see screenshot below.
I would visit the page "Purchased" (second icon from right) and try from there by pressing the icon Install on the right hand side but the same pop-up icon would appear and a message by the icon Install saying "An error occurred" would appear.
The same problem occurr when I try to update Keynote, Imovie or any other App I have downloaded.
I do not know whether this is related to this issue but some time ago I installed Avast.
I could not install other apps such as uTorrent (not downloaded through App Store) until I removed Avast.
I am utterly disappointed.
Can anyone help, please?

CarloYes, Avast could very well be the issue. Bad software, use the developer's instructions to uninstall and don't install again. Your Mac has no real need for most 3rd party anti-viral software and those so-called tune-up apps mess up more than they are worth. A pristine OS X system is all that you need, it takes care of itself.

Image Capture can no longer download from iPhone
For some time - I think since Yosemite upgrade, I can no longer download photos from my iPhone 5. (I do not use iCloud, and there are some other issues with iPhoto so I haven't tried. iTunes can still perform backup.)
Back when, I was using Google Picasa as main tool to download from iOS to MacOS. For some time, maybe since a certain iOS (8?) update, Picasa would simply begin a download, and spill out an error upon the simplest job - like a single picture. As such, I went back to Apple's Image Capture and found it still worked. Until recently, that is. Now, Image Capture simply starts an "Import", shows a progress bar, but makes no progress whatsoever. When I retried Picasa, Picasa does the same, i.e., the error message is no more, replaced by a no-progress progress bar.
I usually only perform import when iPhone is filling up. So this is a devastating problem. Please help.Hello sillyvalley,
Sorry to hear that you are having issues with importing photos to your Mac. Now I am not sure what the communication problem is with Picasa, I can say that there are other alternatives to import your photos in, like using iPhoto or Image Capture.
