Can no longer hear any sound on my Hp mini

I think i may have deleted something by accident and i can no longer hear any notififcation noises or anything

I understand that you have accidentally removed a software component from your notebook, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To restore the sound on your computer prior to removing a file, I recommend following this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7) or for (Windows 8). This should help return your system back to a restore point when your computer was able to successfully produce sound.

I don't know if this will work but it's worth a try. I wonder if somehow you ended up with a short inside of your iPad. Give the things below are trying to see if that helps. Good luck.
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

Why can i not hear any sound on my apps?

New Iphone 4, i can hear clicks, my itunes works - but i cant hear any sound on my apps? Ive checked settings and audio, but no luck. Tried playing with the volume buttons too....

If you quit the app and restart it, the sound will return.
To truly quit an app :
Press the home button to leave the app.
Double click the home button, this will reveal your recent apps,
The last one you used will be on the left. Press and hold the app's icon
And a 'x' will appear at the corner of the icon. Press the x and the app
Will quit.
Click the home button again, then restart the app in question.
Your sound should now be working.
I don't know why the sound stops, this happens to me on all my
IOS devices, iPhone, iPad, iPod.
Hoping some future update fixes the problem, but until then my

Why can I not hear any sound?

I just installed Audition through CC and cannot hear any sound. I see the track and can see the levelmeters going nuts. I can hear sound via Control Panel and Windows sounds butno sound is coming through my speakers.

If Audition's transport is running (which it sounds as though it is if the playhead is moving and the meters are going), then you appear to have your sound device assigned to it correctly - but for whatever reason, the input on your sound device isn't turned up (or even on). But for more help, you'd have to provide more system details - specifically what OS, and are we talking internal sound device here?

I just downloaded a Simpsons episode from a DVD and I can only get video on my iPod,no sound. It works when it is on iTunes on the computer, but when I sync it to my iPod I only get video, no sound. I converted it and sync'd it to my iPod, but I only get video. I've read how some MPEG files don't deliver sound, but this file is an MPEG-4 version so it should work on my iPod. Does anyone have any suggestions? I bought the iPod for video, and if I can't get sound, it sort of defeats the purpose.

I have some Family Guys that are AVI files, I right click on them with my mouse and select the "convert for iPod" link, it takes FOREVER, but does it. Finally when it loads to my ipod, I can play it but I get ZERO sound at all. Any ideas what can be done on this issue?
Some AVI files containers contain Audio-Video Interlaced compression formats. Like other "muxed" (MPEG1, MPEG2, VOB, MJPEG, etc.) formats, they cannot be converted using QT Pro or iTunes access of the QT Tools package. QT is a "frame-to-frame" multi-track sync based application while "muxed" files are sync'd by interspersing blocks of audio data with blocks of video data in a single data stream. In this case use an MPEG based third-party application for your conversions.
I use MPEG Streamclip as an alternative to QT/QT Pro on my Mac. Do not use a PC myself, but do know the MPEG Streamclip (free) is now also available for Windows XP platforms. Mac implementation is a little loose in the H.264 multi-pass mode, but I find the H.264 codec produces moderately quick results using the single pass mode which produces much "tighter" target file output. Further, a video data rate of 400 kbps and audio at 128 kbps and 44.1kHz produce much smaller files (roughly 4 MBs/min) which are acceptable to my iPod and of reasonable good viewing quality on the iPod screen. In addition, if the PC version of this utility works the same as the Mac version, you can crop/scale and enhance brightness, contrast, saturation, and volume all at the same time. All-in-all I consider it a very handy utility well worth its free price.

Why can't I hear any sound when I use Skype or Viber through my Iphone?

If someone calls me, they hear me great, but I can't hear them at all. My phone speakers work when I use the regular phone service and when i listen to music. Is there a different audio setting for Skype and Viber?

I can't remember exactly what audio interface he used. After he laid down the track and I went to listen back, I could barely hear the audio playback.

Hey ErikSimon, I kept troubleshooting my problem last night and when I loaded my samples an alternate way, actually the longer way, it worked. I think I have gremlins in the system or something, but I got it working again. I was having the issue when I tried loading the samples via these instructions that were mentioned in SFLogicninja's Youtube video @ 3:07

I have lost all sound on macbook pro 10.6 and in ITunes can no longer play any cinema or tv shows purchased. I believe it may have been caused by recent use of mini-display port Toslink Audio to the TV. What can be done?

Furthermore, I find that I no longer have any images as well as no sound, from any
of my Itunes cinema, tv show purchases, etc.
I recently watched last week a couple of tv episodes through my TV
using a Mini Display Port + Toslink Audio purchased at Apple.
I use this device occasionally and haven't had any problems til now.
Any suggestions to right the problem?.

In System Preferences>Sound do you have your internal speakers set as the output source?
You may have toggled on optical output with the Toslink cable - check to see if there's a red light coming from the port. If so, quickly plug and unplug a set of headphones for a number of times to see if you can toggle the switch back from optical to the internal speakers.

Have you "reset" the device? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430..I'd also stop all of the apps with the double-tap-on-the-home-button method.

Go step by step and test.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
    Highlight Internal Speakers.
    Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
4. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
    Audio Devices window
    Side Bar
    Click the Built-in Output.
    Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so, uncheck it.

I can hear any sound when i play movies, music and for any alerts. what can be the cause?

I've finished watching a movie on my computer last friday and shut down it. All has been so well. Yesterday nigh, I started it but I didn't hear the starting alert submitted by window 7. I tried hear a music but I was also unable to hear any sound both in media player, itunes and VLC that I use like media reader.

All you have to do is update your sound/audio driver. (especialy if you just got a BIOS update, if you haven't, just proceed)
first, make sure nothin's attached to your laptop.
go to hp.com -> support & drivers - drivers & software - (put in your product name/number - you can find that at the bottom of your laptop) - at the drop down, select widows 64 bit (mostly) then hit next - at step 2, 'SELECT A DOWNLOAD', choose driver - audio - click the first blue link and hit save - after saving, your laptop will prompt you to run it. hit run.
then your laptop will reset, and it should produce sound.
