Can no longer login after using iPhoto
I have a teacher's white Macbook running OS X 10.5.5 when they login, they put in the id and password, click login, the field turn gray and the machine hangs. We've left it for about 1.5 hrs, but no change. This happens with the teacher or admin account. This happened last week, and for the sake of time, I did an archive install. It seemed to resolve the problem, until she logged into iPhoto printed some pictures, logged out of iPhoto and her account. Boom, she can't login again.
A detail that did not seem important last week has surfaced again, she was working in iPhoto both times, logged out, then at the next login the problem appears. I booted via Firewire from another machine to look at system log.

It looks like maybe a kernel panic with all the register info, but I'm hardly an expert with this stuff.
No, I have not applied iLife 8.3.1 update it wasn't out last week. I did post this to the Leopard Install and Config area, no response, so since iPhoto appears to be a contributing factor, I thought I'd ask here

Delete the Apple Cookies.
Clear the Cache in the browser.
Quit the browser.
Try to sign in with the old account.
If that doesn't work, try this procedure.
Delete the browser's Apple Cookies, and clear the browser Cache.
Go to the Sign In Page.
Do not enter an Apple ID or Password.
Click on the Click Here link.
On the page that opens, do not enter an Apple ID, but click on the "Forget your Apple ID link.
Enter the required information, and click Continue.

I am a new Mac user so please forgive me if there is a simple answer to this question...
Since I installed the 10.5.3 update over 10.5.2 I can no longer login/connect to my RH ES4 (SMB Version 3.0.10-1.4E) shares. I can still login to my CentOS 5 (SMB Version 3.0.25b-1.el5_1.4) and my older RedHat 7.3 (SMB Version 2.2.3a) shares, as well as a few windows shares, without any problem. It is just the RH ES4 shares that I can no longer connect to.
For legacy purposes I configured SMB on both my MacBook Pro and the above mentioned servers to use plain text passwords. To do this on my MacBook this I created nsmb.conf in /etc which contains the following...

minauth=none
Everything worked perfectly minutes before the upgrade to 10.5.3 and nothing else in the network, software or hardware, has changed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Items highlighted in bold could be relevant.
Have you checked that your entry in nsmb.conf is intact? If it is, could it be overridden by a change to one of the other conf files (or a plist)? -
Since installing OS X 10.7.5 and iPhoto 9.4, I can no longer export photos from iPhoto. I get a message that "iPhoto quit unexpectedly while using the HPPhotoExport plugin."
Trash the HPPHoto Export Plugin
/Library/Application Support/iPhoto/*/HPPhotoExport
Remember you have two Libraries:
HD/Library and
HD/Users/Your Name/ Library
On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library
It may be in either.

Since loading Lion I can no longer burn photos form iPhoto on a dvd for archive purposes
Since loading Lion on my MacBook Pro, I can no longer burn photos form iphoto for archarving purposes. I used to load the dvd and it would showup on the screen then drag highlighted photos onto the dvd. Now, dvd only shows up sometimes and when it does, it tells me the new disk is full. How can such an easy task become obsolete with this update. I have also tried using idvd for archiving purposes but this process will only allow viewing. I want to be able to reload photos back onto the computer at a later date.
I habe the same problem and cant find a helpful post on the web!

I upgraded to Maverick O/S and I can no longer right click on iPhoto images to find my photo files. My photo files are not where they were before upgrade.
Have you checked the sorting settings to make sure they are as you expect?

My Apple ID is being used by another person. I can no longer sign in using my Apple ID password, and worst of all is that I've been receiving in my email inbox email verifications in someone else's name!!! I have tryed to reset my Apple Id password but I don't even receive the verification email in my meail box, and when I try to answer the Apple ID verification questions not even my birth date is correct!!!!! Can someone help me please!

I accepted/installed an update for iMovie and it turns out that this version is not compatible with my graphics card. So now I can no longer open or use iMovie. Any ideas on how to get around this - how to revert to the previous version??
Look in your Applications folder. If your system behaved as expected, you should have an iMovie 9.0 folder in your Applications folder. Apple moved the old version there as even they suspected the new versions was a train wreck.

My internet freezes occasionally after using iphoto
Occasionally, after using iphoto, particulary the photo books, the internet will freeze. The only way to get going again, is to reboot the computer.
How is that related to Firefox support?

I can no longer use my .Mac username to login to the support forums and post -everytime I do it asks me to create an alias and then fails asking me to logout of my current login before creating an alias !@##$%%%
It also fails to display my current username in the part of the screen that should show it....

After updating my operating system to 5.0.1 I can no longer send messages on my Road Runner email account even after modifying the outbound server for their mobile one. Opening Mail shows its trying to send but than I'm told the server wasn't recognized and the emails are in a temporary outbox. I can receive no problem on both Road Runner and Yahoo Mailboxes but can only send on Yahoo. Problem is that 95% of my emails come into Road Runner. Anybody find a solution to this?

You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
