Can no longer network to G3

Several months ago, I inexplicably lost the ability to network to the G3.
New cables hasn't helped. The error message on my G5 says "this file uses an incompatible version for AFP protocol. You cannot connect to it."

  • Can no longer network PhotoSmart 3210

I have a PlotoSmart 3210 printer. It was formerly networked so that I could access it from two computers. One is running Windows 7 and the other Windows 8.1. Recently there have developed problems with the 8.1 computer. I get print errors with that computer and cannot  print. In addition, there are hardware errors (0xB8255932)  that lock up the printer and deny access from either computer. When the 8.1 computer is turned off no lockups occur and I can print from the windows 7 computer fine. The 8.1 computer worked fine with networking for over half a year. I do not understand the source of this new problem.
I have un-installed and re-installed the software several times. No help. As a test I un-installed the software, connected the printer to the 8.1 computer using a USB cable and re-installed the software. All works fine except that the computer running windows 7 cannot access the printer.
When networked, the HP Solution Center software claims that the printer is not connected. I can do a direct connection to the printer using the IP address (192.168.0.101) from Google Chrome. In addition, the solution center can read the ink levels.
The HP Print and Scan Doctor indicates that the software needs to be re-installed. Having tried this several times I doubt that this will do any good.
Does anyone have a suggestion for this problem?
    Thanks, Jerry

    Hi @JerryRad
I understand you are having problems with your Photosmart 3210 despite your best efforts. I'm sorry to hear that, but will certainly do all I can to help out
I know you have uninstalled and reinstalled, along with all of the other troubleshooting step you performed, but I have another plan of action in mind.
Please run the following utilities on each computer.
    For the Windows 8.1 computer
    For the Windows 7 computer
Once complete, restart both computer and perform a hard reset on the printer.  To achieve a hard reset, leave the printer on and unplug the power cable fro 1 minute. While it is unplugged, hold down the power button on the printer for 10-15 seconds to release any built up power, then after the minute has passed, plug the printer back in.
Now please download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows on each computer.
The HP Printer Install Wizard for Window was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer.
I hope this approach does the trick.

  • Can no longer connect to my network and 'forget network' option has disappeared??

Can no longer connect to my network and "forget network" option has disappeared???  (Ipod touch 5th generation). This happened on both my children's ipods. We have reset network settings but it doesn't help.

JEM24 , your suggestion is included in:
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.

Sorry Mindi, also have your tried rebooting your router? That's all. Try that before you attempt to Restore. Cheers.

  • Apple TV can no longer connect to network after upgrade.

I had heard that lots of people were affected with this problem with the software upgrade before this one so I deliberately waiting until this one came out before taking a chance. I was wrong.
After updating to 4.4. (3140) I can no longer connect to my network. It says there was a problem and gave the error messaged number: (5) in brackets.
I've had nothing but problems with both Apple TV's that I have owned, version 1 and this new version 2. I've a good signal from my router and I've used three different ones over the time I've had the two apple tvs.
    Anyone got any ideas.
I can't connect the apple tv directly because they are too far apart in the house. I can only connect by wifi.
There is nothing wrong with my wifi because I'm connected to it fine though my imac, iphone and ipad and laptop, (not all at the same time)

Ok, here's a solution, courtesy of our friends at AppleCare.
Unplug the router for 90 seconds.
I was running ATV2 with a Time Capsule.   The TC thought the ATV was still connected using its former IP address so wouldn't let it reconnect with a new one.
Hope this works for anyone else with same problem.

  • I can no longer access the web on my IPod Touch through my home wifi network.

I have an I Pod Touch with operating system 4.2.1.  It has worked fine the past year plus.  Suddenly, I can no longer access webpages on it.  When  try to load a website, looks like it is trying to open the page, but it never fully loads and times out. My I Pod indicates that it recognizes my wifi network and I have tried resetting both my I Pod and my router.  Weirder yet, I can access my Yahoo email on my I Pod and if there is a website link embedded in an email message, i can open it and access the page that way.  Any link on the web page opened through my email however does not work.  My home computer, which is on the same wifi network, is working fine.  The only thing that did occur recently was a power outage.
Please help - this is very frustrating.

LTE indicates cellular. Tap Settings > Cellular then switch Cellular Data ON.
If your Wi-Fi is working, then you should be able to access the internet.
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
    * No data is lost due to a reset

  • Can no longer connect to Windows XP Home Network

I recently upgraded to Mavericks and just noticed I can not longer connect to my Windows XP Home Network. Besides sharing files I also print through that network, but it's not just the printer that's afftected. In "Finder" I see the Home>Office Folder but I can't connect to it. I deleted the printer and tried to re-add it but I get a message saying that the server my not exist or is unavailable.
It's been a long time since I set this all up so I don't even know where to look and/or begin.
    TIA

There is a problem with connecting to a shared printer on Windows XP from Mavericks. But you should still be able to connect to a shared folder, although my testing was with Windows XP Pro, not Home. One thing you do have to ensure is that the Windows user account has a password. You cannot connect to a shared folder on WinXP if the Windows account has no password.

  • My Apple TV can no longer find my network - help?

I've been using my apple tv for a LONG tme successfully until tonight.
It can no longer find my network (airport network)!
Resetting/restarting the apple tv has not helped. I can't update anything because it can't connect to the internet (even though my computer and phones and even roku are connecting just fine).
I've tried restarting everything (airport, internet box, apple tv) as well as plugging and unplugging things...
I had noticed a few times it was having trouble connecting but restarting seemed to fix it. My apple tv is from last year so it's not old.
    Any suggestions?

  • I recently installed itunes update and can no longer connect to network nor internet

I recently (sept 2013) installed itunes update and can no longer connect to a network nor internet wired /wireless. I know it is not the gateway as other devices work. Please help. I am not very knowledgable so exact instructions will be most helpful.

Try connecting your computer/laptop directly to the base station with an ethernet cable to one of the external ports and install your network settings. If it finds it there, it will find it after you've reloaded your network info to the base via the Apple Utility. Hopefully when you disconnect afterward, all will be fine. Be sure not to select "closed" network although Macs will login with no prolem, PC's have trouble doing so even with the network data stored in the internet settings.
    Good luck!

  • IBook can no longer connect to wireless network

I have a wireless network set up in my home using a Linksys wireless router. While it has worked fine in the past, I can no longer connect to it with my G4 iBook running 10.3.9. It shows up in my network connections with a strong signal but when I open a browser it can't connect to the internet. When I try to open 'Internet Connect' to explore the issue I get the spinning beach ball and have to Force Quit. When I open the network status window, I get a message for Airport that says "Airport is connected to the network 'name of my network'. Airport does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the Internet".
I have an iMac G5 connected to the router through ethernet cable and it works fine. I have an iMac G4 connected wirelessly to the same wireless router and it works fine. I have a Dell laptop that can also connect wirelessly to the wireless router with no problem.
It appears something is corrupt with the Internet Connect utility?
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Doug

What type of IP address are you getting? If it starts with 169, it indicates that your iBook can not connect to the DHCP server provided by the router.
Have you enabled the MAC address filtering on the router? If so, remember that you must add the AirPort MAC address for your iBook.
If you have a correct IP address, perhaps it is a DNS issue. See KB 106798, Mac OS: Troubleshooting "A connection failure has occurred", "The specified server could not be found" or Similar Messages.

  • I can no longer connect to the available wi fi networks with my ipad 1

For some reason I can no longer connect to the available wi-fi networks with my ipad...help

If no change after powering your iPad off and on and/or after a reset which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release, try resetting network settings on your iPad at Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will erase all saved wi-fi network settings from your iPad. This will require rejoining every wi-fi network your iPad has access to when returning within range of such a network.
If no change after this, try restoring your iPad with iTunes as a new iPad or not from your iPad's backup.
If no change after restoring as a new iPad, your iPad has a hardware problem.

  • I updated my iphone 5 to ios 6.0.2. my wifi says its connected but doesn't work now. It doesn't matter what wifi network I connect to. It worked before updating my phone. I can no longer use facetime or use wifi at all. I'm not sure what to do to fix it.

I'm having similar issues with my phone.  I got my first iPhone recently, only had an iPod touch gen4 for a little over a year.  Updated to 6.0.2 when we got the phone (iPhone 5) a few days before Christmas.  When I got home on the evening of January 11, my phone would not connect the router anymore.  I was able to get it to connect after resetting the phone and the router, updating the router, and manually connecting.  That laste for a few minutes and then wouldn't work anymore.   I live in an area with very limited service, we have a network extender installed to help, and I am barely getting a 3G signal at times.
My wife's iPad 4, my touchiPod 4, and all of our laptops are working just fine on the router.  When I dropped my kid off at school today, I noticed that I am not even seeing the school network anymore from the parking lot where before I got 3 or 4 bars and could connect to their wifi when I was there.  Today my phone goes back and forth between seeing my home network but not connecting, to not even seeing the network at all even from the same room that the router is in.
Hope Apple fixes this problem soon..............

    what to do pleeeease?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?
Did you try to reset the network settings on your device?
